- In this short video, we visit a cave which served as a monastery and orthodox shrine in the wilds of Transylvania, Romania. The site is believed to be 7,000 years old and was once used by the Dacian people - according to one source. Whilst another states it dates from the 1700s and was built by Orthodox monks escaping Catholic persecution.
Whatever the legends, it is an amazingly spiritual place to visit, and Șinca Veche monastery ranks highly as a recommended site.
Rather strangely, perhaps was that an English-speaking voice was recorded. There were absolutely no other visitors at that time.
Sorry for the lapse in production but having recently arrived I have been very busy sorting out a new home to renovate.

Love this cave Romania is a beautiful place. I notice it has a cozy warm feeling inside too. I can imagine it raining or snowing outside and have a warm snug fireplace inside

I am a Roman Catholic with a strong affinity for the Orthodox Church. I have actually considered, and still am considering conversion.

@@HauntedEarth Please explain how a church which is a building is "full of spirituality". Surely spirituality is in side the human being, it is how you live your life day to day and how you treat others, what you give out. How can this translate to a building.? There is no evidence at all that Jesus wanted to found any kind of church or set up any kind of religion. This was done after his death by men who desired power and position
