Is there any support on this unit? I am working with my gransdon on it, but we are having difficulty with the IR control. We wrote a few block statements (a verry small program) to display whatever number it receives from the IR keypad, but we are getting completely random results. Pressing the same key gives they key value sometimes, but more often gives a zero, and occasionally gives a different number. It strikes me that if the number is, for example, a 5, then it must come as 0000 0101 (supposing a whole byte is sent), but those bits must come at a fixed frequency. If the keypad is sending a frequency that is slightly differrent from the Maqueen's receiver frequency, that could account for what I am seeing. My grandson is very enthusiastic about computer engineering, but I believe in the dictum that "nothing succeeds like success", and instead of success, he is currectly experiencing disappointment, so I'd really like to overcome this problem. Can the receive frequency be changed on the Maqueen robot? Is it set by hardware or firmware? I have ordered another keypad, but I don't know if compatibility between IR keypads can be expected.
