fyi, since you proclaimed your love for Sega because of the Saturn (I had the same experience as a kid) I wanted to recomend a song to you. I think you will get a kick out of a certain special line about our last sega product.... This is super obscure music, I could not find it, but I stumbled on a mistitled bad version on youtube, sounds like it was recorded in a box though lol Anyway, the part you want to hear is at at 32 seconds :) The song is called "Orchards & Vines - Across The Waters" got it back in college trading cds with ppl. but look up "Across the Waters: 90's music" and there is that one bad version that will come up... check it out. I bet you will chuckle smile :)

I’ve had a Rhea for a while, and what I really wanted was the Satiator. How it came to be is just as interesting as the product itself. Sadly, the Satiator released two or more years after I got a Rhea and when it did, it was still early in firmware developing and has a long way to go. I’m happy to see it’s caught up.
The question I always ask myself when I see a CD work around for a console is how it handles disc swaps on games that have multiple discs…. Panzer Dragoon Saga or D.

I'd love to see a follow up video on the Satiator after you've done some more testing with it, the video Game Sack did was over a yr ago so I'm sure there have been some firmware updates since for more compatibility.

I ended up buying a MODE for my V-Saturn and DC. I would have bought a Satiator if it would have integrated a MPEG1 decoder card into it's design. The handful of MPEG games are small I know, but they do make a big difference in them vs the cinepak compressed video most of the games have. A great example of the difference in video is the two versions of Lunar: The Silver Star.

I got a used Saturn as a kid and it was cool but the North American library wasn't great and games were hard to find by the time I got one. This looks like a great way to get into the console.

  • @PandaMoniumReviews

While I LOVE my Satiator, it does still have some compatibility problems: Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter, Time Gal, Black Fire, and Corpse Killer just to name a few. You cannot play the entire library on it. 99%, but not 100%. While Professor Abrasive is still working on updates, the updates are much less frequent than other ODE options. Great device, but by no means a perfect solution, at least not yet.

I mean, it’s got to happen eventually, right? In the meantime can we get a mini console at least, Sega? The Dreamcast nostalgia has been building for more than two decades, people will buy these things.

      You kinda already can.
There are SD card adapters for the serial port, but they're very far from ideal.
You're almost always just better off burning a game to disc instead.

I love original hardware. With that said, I like the high-end “all in one” carts with all the games for the original hardware. I just got a Saturn and bought a Saroo that has 250 games on it. I would go broke trying to track down Saturn games. Not to mention disk rot on old disk being an eventual reality

Man the Saturn was my first "real" system. Am a collector, I've got a complete PAL collection, complete shmup collection and multiple consoles (modded and not) so I'm set but heard that lasers are dying off. This... This is next level.
Edit: that price though... FOCK my country's post and the EU! Watching non-UK Ebay I guess...

I’m definitely gonna have to get me one of these! If just to play some of those rid-dic-ul-arse expensive games. I’ve been using a Pseudo Saturn cart but I’m guessing that’s not too kind to your laser/drive over time. I, too, like the idea that you can play your original disc games whilst leaving this device plugged in. I have a question, though: can you leave a Pseudo flashed Action Replay cart plugged in at the same time (for cheats and extended RAM cart games) or does having 2 “hacked” things plugged in confuse/mess with the Saturn?😂Great video/review anyway, mate🤘🏻

BUT very cool and i may pick one up for my old saturn, i have plenty of japanese games on disk but if i can keep from wearing out the disk drive that would be awesome. i have a US Saturn with an action replay plus, that action replay plus was the best thing i ever bought for a console B^)

I'm curious how this works with a Pseudo Saturn cart. It's cool that it has the Action Replay memory option but it's nice to be able to save and access cheats in one expansion cart.
