    Interesting you mention Calvinists repeat the same things as Calvinists of the past word for word. My buddy is a Calvinist (we agree to disagree); his pastor has recently joined our weekly Saturday morning coffee sessions. I heard him say some of the exact same things I said when I was a Calvinist, literally verbatim. I just smiled and listened. I’m reading Plato’s Dialogues right now and learning how to ask questions instead of disagreeing with contradictory statements... I think our Saturday morning coffee sessions are going to become slightly less relaxed...

    How could I not comment Kevin. Loved this session. I agree low resolution can cause confusion and is a nesting bed for all that is false and cultish in Christendom. Thank you for raising the resolution. Coming from a pathology background and looking at things through a microscope is fascinating as long as we don’t loose sight of the big picture but I don’t believe you’re doing that.
    Thank you another good session that makes us think about the how’s of Salvation. I will go and listen to the ‘35 Truths that Destroys Calvanism” as that sounds like something I will really enjoy. I’ve heard the others.
    I know my experience has been and it is backed up by Scripture which is good, that God saves all those who place their faith in Christ and He sees that and when you do that you WILL be born again.
    What I see you doing in this video and many others and I like it, is that you’re attempting to explain that process so WE can better articulate it to those around us and be better pointers! Getting the focus off the vessel and onto the object being pointed at and that’s what I want!
    You really do go beyond the fundamentals Kevin so thank you.
    I encourage you to make sure you zoom in AND out often so people don’t get lost in the micro and forget the macro picture. So far I’m getting both. 😊
    Continued prayers for your brother.

    Now recently I have been picking up words, concept and thoughts which immediately in lighting speed bring me to the lectures of Mr. Jordan Peterson.
    I am a Christian and I love and respect Mr. Peterson. But let me tell you why. He is an intellectual an academic and he lives what he preaches or teaches.

    Geez Kevin . . . with each video, I like & wish that I could somehow check it to return to for further viewing & study but EVERY SINGLE VIDEO . . . each hinges on another one, each is AWESOME . . . I'm collecting all of them!!!
    If I just visit your site, there they are probably in order of release date instead of random order that I am viewing them in.
    We really needed these clarifications of definitions & many with the challenge to verify scripture that supports each . . . THANK YOU!!!
    I really like the videos when you actually explain how to rightly "read what scripture says" rather than to allow a human to teach you what they think it says . . . I know it is important to be able to recognize the subtle ways Calvinism twists scripture & to be alert . . . & you can only know how best to do that, by how well you know the truth from scripture directly, so thank you for challenging us to be clear & specific & to force them to prove their points by the scripture.
    To me, personally, I feel everything about Calvinism focus on the negativity of not being saved instead of the joyous results of becoming saved - which is their downfall!!! I don't know how they don't have a high suicide rate without any hope!

    It's very difficult for most people to break out of the mental and rhetorical boxes of the people around them. Because of their need to belong---probably actually a need to feel safe--consensus is subconsciously perceived as truth. Any challenge to the feeling of consensus becomes a challenge to the consensus itself, which makes people feel unsafe....the potential of being separated from the herd.

    Thank you for the message Kevin. A lot of good points, but I see a lot of issues mixed in as well. The overall messages seem to be "people should be more precise with their language" while also "people should be more biblical in their language." The inconsistent application of these leads to most of my issues, as you argue we should avoid synecdoche, while acknowledging that the bible itself uses synecdoche when speaking about these things (but we are only to see what the Bible "says" and not what it "teaches" when using these figures of speech). A similar issue I have is that you argue strongly for this precision of language and restricting our understanding to what is actually said and not possibly incorrect inferences based on what was said, but then you make these non sequitur arguments like "to attribute saving power to any of the components by themselves is functionally a denial of the role of the other components: for example to say that the atonement or death of Christ saves constitutes a denial the necessity of the resurrection." The "denial" portion does not actually follow from the first statement. Lastly, I think there is probably some difficulty in understanding the language related to the topics discussed here because the Greek does not make the distinction between "save" and "heal" that we have in English, which I think is well illustrated by Hebrews 9:28 "so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many ; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. "

    Great video and many great observations and insights. Tremendous work.
    However concerning james 2 not being related to salvation… one might observe that the whole passage dealing with this issue, i.e james 2:14-26 starts with a question “What use is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone says he has faith, but he has no works? Can that faith SAVE (gr sozo) him? “
    and finishes with
    “For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.”
    Intermediate conclusion in verse 17 is the same “In the same way, faith also, if it has no works, is [l]dead, being by itself.”
    The context here is not deeds of the law, in particular circumsicion, like in acts that the gentiles should be circumsized.
    But here it is a discussion among the jews (letter dedicated to 12 tribes).
    Framing the question works or deeds seems to put it in 16th century, not 1st century jewiah ( who believe in Jesus as Messiah) context.
    The examples of Abraham and rahab given in this passage of James also do not represent law deeds, but deeds of faith…
    James asks -can a faith without works save? Faith as a necessary component is assumed. Whether it is sufficent without works that is what the text seems to answer.
    Interestingly, an observation - it is the single passage in Scripture having expression sola fide- “faith alone” telling
    “24 You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone”
    Interestingly too, it states “You see that faith was working with (was synergizing in greek) his works, and [o]as a result of the works, faith was [p]perfected; (or completed)”
    Maybe it is the answer of the relation between faith and works - not demonstrational but ontological - works make faith complete… Maybe another interpretation… Keep studying…
    God bless

    Kevin, another excellent video outlining the importance of breaking down the individual components of salvation to gain a better understanding of how the entire system works.
    Likening this to an automobile, once one has a good understanding of how the electrical ignition system works, how the internal combustion engine works, how the engine/transmission cooling system works, how the transmission, clutch, differential, braking systems etc. work, and then understanding how these systems interact with each other, then one has a much clearer understanding of how a car works.
    So also, breaking down those terms you listed, understanding what they encompass, and then understanding the relationships between those terms, one will have a greater understanding of how salvation works.
    Mike Winger is currently defending penal substitutionary atonement, and it would be quite interesting to get your take on it.
    I myself do not believe that Jesus bore the wrath of God on the cross. I believe that God’s wrath abides on sin, sin is judged, but the judgement has not yet been meted out. I don’t see anywhere that Jesus bore the wrath of God;......thoughts?

    • @KevinThompson1611
      @KevinThompson1611  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like where your head is with this.
      When I was in California speaking at a church, one of the young people asked a question that went something like this: “If the wrath of God was poured out in Jesus for all people, then why do they get it again in hell?”
      It dawned on me in that exact moment that I had not yet worked through the relationship of Christ on the cross to wrath. So that’s exactly what I told them - that I hadn’t worked through that and didn’t feel comfortable giving an answer about that issue. I’m a lot more curious about it than I am settled, and I need to explore that curiosity a bit before I can contribute to a discussion about it in a worthwhile fashion.
      They told me that they had more respect for me for not trying to wing an answer, which is what they were used to. A lot of people they were exposed to felt like they had to give an answer and fast, and people can usually tell that it’s baloney.
      So, that’s something I’m curious about and still looking into.

      The wrath of God is death itself, that’s why we have God’s wrath on us already. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. The wrath is already on all of us. I believe Jesus experienced God’s wrath just by dying. (abideth- continue or remain)

      Jesus fulfilled the law so that we can keep all of the requirements of the law through faith in Him. He is our sacrifice for sin, our Sabbath rest, our Passover lamb, He circumcises our hearts, etc. We trust in His work and we receive His righteousness so that the relationship can be restored between us and the Father. It goes both ways. We have to have a clean conscience before God as well so that we can maintain our end of the relationship. If we feel inadequate because of our sins then we will hide from the presence of God and the relationship will cease.
      Heb 10: 14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
      15 ¶ Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
      16 ¶ This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
      17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
      18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
      19 ¶ Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
      20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
      21 And having an high priest over the house of God;
      22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
      23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
      Heb 3: 6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
      7 ¶ Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
      8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
      9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
      10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
      11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
      12 ¶ Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
      13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
      14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

      Either he would have been under the old covenant and gone to Sheol but to him it would have been an instant or God is outside of time so while it would appear to us as if Christ hadn't finished His work in order for the thief to be saved, it's kind of retroactively applied because the thief believed on Him and to God, the crucifixion, resurrection, and applying His blood to the mercy seat would have already occurred.

  • @graceoverreligion2509

    Paid the price to bring us to God:
    He suffered, while we are in our sin, to testify to the truth about God, that He loves us so much He is willing to give His life over to sinful men and not do anything about it, until the last drop of blood.
    Therefore, change your mind towards God, and be reconcilled to Him.
    Now place yourself in the thinking that God is angry, and a threat is looming against you because you are not perfect as God is perfect.
    Then God Himself dies in your hands, after you beat Him, mock, scorn Him, and He said nothing against you, nor call angels to kill you.
    Sin, reconcilliation, redemption is a relationship problem not a legal one.
    Adam was afraid of God, his thinking about God was wrong. God shed blood to cover them.

      @@KISStheSON... I was thinking about you Stacey when I noticed you comment, and that is 5am here in England. I was thinking about you and vows, the profession of faith actually, and the sealing with the promise.
      When you and I confessed Jesus to be Lord and put our trust in him, it is our vow to him that is why we are sealed with the Holy Spirit, and why Christ must remain as our Lord. That is why our past sins are covered because we vow to be in Christ.
      As Kevin says in this video it is a mistake of Calvinism to believe you are saved solely by the cross, as I Corinthians 15:17, it is his resurrection to heaven, and as my comment adds the mercy seat is in heaven. This is to do with the atonement ceremonies of the temple of Leviticus 16, and the parallel New Testament ceremonies described in Hebrews 9 and 10, where the Holy of holies is now in heaven with the mercy seat. And as Kevin alludes to the atonement is a synecdoche and has many facets, which are laid out in Leviticus 16, changed by use of the Holy Ghost in Hebrews.
      This is where we differ as I don't wait on the Lord, but he is waiting for me to appear for judgement when I die, and I am quite sure that he knows me as I have a good conscience. That shows I trust in his promise to return to heaven in judgement when the the temple was destroyed.
      Of course the name is the authority of the Holy Trinity accepting them as our witnesses, the three bear witness of our faith, and sanctification and final judgement.
      And eternal life is summarised in Revelation 21 & 22, which should be to go into eternity with God. Sounds very interesting to me.

    QUESTION: what causes calvinists to cling to calvinism despite the cogent arguments of BTF? pride? pain of admitting error?
    or, more broadly, what causes one to cling to any false belief (non-Christian religions, flat earth, evolution....)? peer pressure? blinded by the god of this world?

      It’s oddly hard to prove a round earth unless you believe government provided images are proof, I don’t and neither do a lot of other people. Evolution is clearly a conspiracy that has been pushed by governments with blatant lies and fabricated evidence by so called “scientists” so it’s very likely that that is not all they’re lying about. Also do realize the current heliocentric model that is taught in school is the only reason evolution even has a foothold, without it there is no big bang so before you criticize some Christians who believe what the Bible is saying about the cosmos over what our trustworthy government and atheistic scientists are claiming you should do some homework.
      You can start by reading Genesis and figure out why it’s saying there’s water above the firmament and not empty space, then why it’s saying the sun, moon, and birds are IN that same firmament, then go outside and with your own eyes locate the Big Dipper, do that once a month for a year then tell me how it’s possible to see the same set of stars throughout the year, if we’re spinning around the sun we should see completely different sets of stars every three months but we don’t, I’ve checked. Then look up the Michelseon-Morley experiment, then look up the math formula for the curvature of the earth and explain how people are capturing photos of things at distances that shouldn’t be possible to see. I don’t know exactly what we live on but I’m certain you do not either and you sure as heck can’t defend your position with scripture so therefore you have zero grounds to group flat earthers with heretics and false religious groups, don’t let peer pressure or the pain of admitting this error keep you from truth.

      Aaron look into why you can't see the southern cross constellation all year round. Also why you cannot see Polaris at different latitudes. You can learn alot by just picking up a compass and seeing how it works finding magnetic north, and true north depending on where you are on longitudinal coordinates. don't want to turn this forum into another flat earth panel, but there are many ways to prove spherical model with just a little knowledge.

    • @aaronjones3922
      @aaronjones3922 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Misha Silkin
      Believe me I have looked into it along with the only other compelling argument which are the eclipses but the southern star trails are a problem for both sides because in the northern hemisphere you get stars rotating in a circle and in the southern you get a curved line in the opposite direction not a circular rotation like in the north which is what we should also see in the south if we were a spinning ball. I cannot explain the heavens above but the fact remains we do see the same stars in the northern hemisphere which is simply impossible for a spinning ball that takes a year to go around the sun. Unless the sun is spinning around us or we are not moving and everything is spinning around us we should definitely never see the same constellations all throughout the year from any location on earth but we clearly do, either of the only two viable options is not what NASA or science books are telling us but it does just happen jive with scripture so since there are so many liars and scientists with bad agendas I want to start with scripture and build my scientific knowledge from that, who knows better about creation than the creator Himself? As with a solar eclipse it projects a 70 mile wide shadow, never in the history of mankind has anyone ever seen a shadow that is smaller than the object causing it, doesn’t matter how far away or how powerful the light is it is not physically possible for that to happen so that leads me to believe the sun and moon are much smaller and closer which supports the biblical claim that they are inside the firmament. Another impossible shadow is a colored shadow which is what we’re supposedly seeing during a lunar eclipse. I’m not claiming I know or can explain exactly what we live on I’m claiming no one can and my intent wasn’t to start a debate on the issue I was just trying to show that things are much more complicated and most people are just regurgitating what some atheist or government agency told them without any serious study but to say it’s “unbiblical” or cultish to question or point out contradictions in their theories about Gods creation is frankly just arrogant and absolutely absurd which was the point of my comment, a lot of people get bent out of shape over this topic but it fascinates me so I do appreciate your respectful comment, thank you

    Question; would you say that believing we have eternal life when we believe the gospel is an ESSENTIAL for salvation? Or is believing 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 , basically what Christ did, sufficient? I’ve been struggling with this because I’m also following free grace teachers who are rightfully pointing out that if we don’t believe we have eternal life, we haven’t actually believed the correct gospel, since if you believe you can lose it, it’s not eternal. I would love your perspective on this, or anyone who would like to comment :)

    • @eiontactics9056

      1 Cor 15: 1-4 is not the entire Gospel. There are a lot of known facts packed into 1 Corinthians 15, that the audience already assumes. Like God loving the whole world, Jesus's sacrifice was for the whole cosmos, etc.
      I would say this, that believing on the true Jesus Christ is sufficient for Salvation.
      You are right. Eternal life is eternal. Some people are confused because of false religions like Romanism, etc that believe and preach a work based salvation that can be lost... because they don't believe the word of God.

      we handle them inductively. That is, you collect and note the observations. Be carefu not to add anything to them that isn’t there. In most cases, there is something else in scripture that supplements the figurative language. Many times, it is directly in the text. Other times, one book can contain allusions to another book entirely. Each passage would need to be dealt with on a case by case basis. However, it’s very important to not feel like you have to be able to ascertain the correct meaning of a passage right away. Especially with respect to some of the many technology dependent passages in the Bible that could not have possibly been discernible prior to the invention of modern technology. So it’s okay to gather all your observations and then just let a passage sit in the mind for a few years. Sometimes the contemplation of the passage is one of the points and benefits of the passage.

    I know this is out of the standard box, but is something to ponder...
    Colossians 1:14 “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.” KJV
    Alternate translation: “In whom we have deliverance (Gr. apolytrōsin) through his blood, the release (Gr. aphesin) of sins.” This is OUR releasing of sin due to us participating in the blood covenant.
    Matthew 26:28 “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” KJV
    Alternate translation: “For this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many into (Gr. eis) the release (Gr. aphesin) of sins.”
    The blood covenant releases us from living in sin because for us to join him in his covenant requires US to choose to stop living a life of sin.
    These verses are not about some payment by which God is paid off to be able to then forgive. You forgive precisely because a debt has NOT been paid. You do not forgive a debt that has been paid, even if paid by someone else.
    With regard to salvation, there is a lot of confusion about debt. A moral debt is not the same thing as a financial debt, although there is an analogy that can be used, as Jesus did in Mat. 18:23-35. A moral debt cannot be literally paid, even though there is a debt of sorts. You "pay" a moral debt by admitting your wrong appeasing the one whom you offended. Jesus is our propitiation, which actually means appeasment. Jesus was a human who was faithful and obedient to God unto death, even death on a cross. For this reason his God and Father exalted him and gave him a name...(Phil. 2). By joining into the blood covenant of Jesus we humbly ask for forgiveness and agree to stop sinning. (No, choosing to not sin is not a work.)

      1 Jn 2:1-2 "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him."

      Our sins get forgiven, just as we forgive others. Romans 4:7 " Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered." (Notice it says "covered", not "paid"!) This verse applies in the NT, just as it did in the OT. But popular theology ignores this.
      You seem to think that the flesh is inherently sinful. This is a Gnostic doctrine. We are told over and over to not sin. Another sin passage of before/after salvation I suggest is Col. 3:5-7 (Before: “Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: 7In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.”) 8-10 (After: “BUT NOW ye ALSO PUT OFF ALL THESE; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.”) Notice that believers are absolutely to stop the first group of sins, and then also work to "put off" the second group.

    The Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ constitutes THE GOSPEL OF SALVATION brought and taught by Jesus Christ and his apostles.I don't agree that "what saves IS The Resurrection" , although I usually agree with Pastor Kevin in most issues and love his videos on Calvinism and in exposing its errors and inconsistencies.Here is why I don't agree:
    We are saves by the 1-Death and 2-Resurrection of Jesus Christ and those are the 2 MAIN components which constitute salvation by Grace.To say "Jesus Christ resurrection IS what saves" it would be an incomplete statement in itself because for Jesus Christ to have resurrected He MUST HAVE FIRST FINISHED HIS REDEMPTIVE WORK WHICH IS THE 1ST AND MOST IMPORTANT PART OF SALVATION .
    When Paul wrote that we are saved by Jesus Christ resurrection he was pointing out THE IMPORTANCE of The Resurrection, which is an event and the final event in the process of salvation, for salvation.JUST BECAUSE Paul DOES NOT MENTIONS THE ATONEMENT in NO way or form was PAUL implying that The Atonement, the First event in that process , IS NOT what saves!.Same as when Paul points out the IMPORTANCE of The Atonement concerning salvation, BECAUSE PAUL DOES NOT MENTIONS THE RESURRECTION he is NOT implying that Jesus Christ's Resurrection IS NOT what saves!
    Hebrews 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the BLOOD of Jesus,.
    Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his BLOOD, we shall be SAVED from wrath through him..
    First we need to be RECONCILED with and REDEEMED (bought back) by Jehovah God for OUR sins to be forgiven (to be JUSTIFIED and to be able to enter in the Kingdom of Jehovah God) and for Jesus Christ resurrection to mean anything and to BE effective in our salvation. Like wise if Jesus would have NOT resurrected from the dead we still would be enemies of Jehovah God.The Atonement and Resurrection complement each other and ONE can not subsist WITHOUT THE OTHER, BOTH EVENTS CONSTITUTES ONE AND THE SAME PROCESS WHICH IS SALVATION!!!!.
    THE 2 EVENTS , JESUS CHRIST'S DEATH/BLOOD ATONEMENT AND RESURRECTION ARE LINKED TO SALVATION AS A SINGLE PROCESS .THEY CONSTITUTE THE WHOLE PROCESS AND NOT AS SINGLE EVENTS/UNITS that are part of 2 different processes.BOTH EVENTS CAN NOT EVER BE SEPARATED FROM EACH OTHER AS TO SAY "WE ARE SAVED BY HIS RESURRECTION THEREFORE HIS DEATH/ATONEMENT IS JUST A PART OF SALVATION BUT IS NOT WHAT SAVES".
    Salvation is a process PLANNED and EXECUTIVE by Jehovah God himself and BOTH 1-God's Grace and 2-man's Faith are LINKED and important to that PLANNED process .Could it be biblical accurate to say that God's Grace IS the PLAN OF SALVATION AND THAT MAN'S FAITH IS NOT?.Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him.!!!.
    God' Plan of Salvation in a nutshell:
    By God's Grace the spotless LAMB is supplied by God as God's Law requires it (JUST AS JEHOVAH GOD SUPPLIED THE LAMB FOR ABRAHAM TO SACRIFICE), ALL the Glory goes to God.
    By His blood we are redeemed and justified, God is the one that provided the sacrifice therefor the Glory is His.
    Jesus Christ (God The Son) resurrected from the dead, again ALL the Glory goes to Jehovah God .
    We CAN believe the Gospel of Salvation (OUR FAITH in GOD) because God The Father DRAWS ALL sinners to Him (so does God The Son) , ALL the Glory goes to God once again.
    The Plan of Salvation is 100% Jehovah God and 0% man!.
    Same principle of "ALL events belonging to JUST one process", as in the case of The Atonement and The Resurrection of Jesus Christ, should be applied here.YOU CAN NOT SEPARATE 1-JEHOVAH GOD'S GRACE FROM 2- OUR FAITH IN HIM BECAUSE BOTH ARE INTERCONNECTED AND BOTH ARE EQUALLY IMPORTANT IN THE PLAN OF SALVATION.
    The atonement + the resurrection = SALVATION !.

    • @ipaporod
      @ipaporod 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Believe 316 :And yet WITHOUT the atonement IT IS IMPOSSIBLE for you to be SAVED (because both atonement and resurrection are part of the same process, SALVATION) even if it were posssible for Christ to have resurected from the dead 1000 times over!!!.Is like trying to say that what constitutes water is Hydrogen and NOT Oxygen, you can not have water (H2O) without both "H" and "O" .
      SALVATION= Atonement + Resurection , no way to change that FACT! .Still I respect your view (because is NOT a major issue) without the need of name calling as a TRUE born again Christian and a gentleman should!. God bless you brother.

    • @ipaporod
      @ipaporod 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Believe 316 :Agreed but if the sacrificial lamb would have not been a blemishless one (sinless) the resurrection would have meant the same as when Lazarus was resurected by Christ, WE STILL be in our sins as well.
      Both acts make up salvation and you can not split up salvation into single events.It would be like saying; the 1st event, Christ death= redemption (which in fact by purchasing you back Jehovah God is SAVING you from the 2nd DEATH) but it can not save anyone and the 2nd event, Christ resurrection= salvation and it is the ONLY thing that saves.
      Christ resurection is a concecuence of his death/atonement and NOT the other way around.He needed to have both died and resurrected for us to be saved.
      1-His death/atonement REDEEMED us, JUSTIFIED us and RECONCILED us with JEHOVAH GOD (new spiritual birth) and made it possible for the Holy Spirit to come into our hearts (the Holy Spirit came to fulfill a mission as the comforter and to guide/teach the Church).The Holy Spirit only dwells in the hearts of believers who have been CLEANSED by the BLOOD OF THE LAMB.The atonement is the 1st event that JUMP STARTS THE PROCESS OF SALVATION and the RESURRECTION is the 2nd and final event which seals our salvation!!!.
      We can not finish and COMPLETE the race if we are NOT able to START the race at all, the atonement STARTED the process and the RESURRECTION completed the process!!!.
      2-His resurrection, Christ conquered DEATH and humiliated Satan in the resurection,in the other hand made it possible for us to get to heaven in a new body (the adoption of the body) because ALL of Christ promises to his Church are fullfilled through the resurection (it made it possible for Christ to accend to the Father and to send The Holy Spirit/comforter as well) ! .
      "Where I go you should be with me", he needed to have a new spiritual body (His resurrection made it possible) to go to the Father because human flesh and blood can not inherit the Kingdom of God.We are buried (our sinful nature) in His DEATH and we are risen (spiritual rebirth) in His resurrection, CHRIST DEATH AND RESURECTION IS A SINGLE PROCESS CALLED SALVATION!.
      If Christ would have FAILED to get resurected ALL of those promises would be lost and we would be still in our sins. Likewise if Christ would have backed down and would have not died we still be in our sins as well. We can not separate both events which in fact saves.

      So why would Jesus have to mask His words to prevent people from believing? Doesn’t that prove total inability to be false?
      Btw, the bible tells us why certain people of the Jews weren’t allowed to come to faith at that time.

      @@evanu6579, Jesus explains clearly:
      Matthew 13
      13 “Therefore I speak to them in parables; because while seeing they do not see, and while hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.
      14 “In their case the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled, which says,
      ‘YOU WILL KEEP ON HEARING, BUT WILL NOT UNDERSTAND;
      YOU WILL KEEP ON SEEING, BUT WILL NOT PERCEIVE;
      15 FOR THE HEART OF THIS PEOPLE HAS BECOME DULL,
      WITH THEIR EARS THEY SCARCELY HEAR,
      AND THEY HAVE CLOSED THEIR EYES,
      OTHERWISE THEY WOULD SEE WITH THEIR EYES,
      HEAR WITH THEIR EARS,
      AND UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEART AND RETURN,
      AND I WOULD HEAL THEM.’
      Mark 4
      11 And He was saying to them, “To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God, but those who are outside get everything in parables,
      12 so that WHILE SEEING, THEY MAY SEE AND NOT PERCEIVE, AND WHILE HEARING, THEY MAY HEAR AND NOT UNDERSTAND, OTHERWISE THEY MIGHT RETURN AND BE FORGIVEN.”

    Col.1:14 - In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
    This, as many verses, makes it clear that it is the blood of Jesus Christ and his sacrfice that saves us. To be sure, it is applied by faith, so it can be said we are saved by faith over and over also. To divorce one from the other is reckless and strange.
    Do you think you are the first person in Christian history to rightly understand how to speak of salvation? You quite literally fit the bill for a person seeking to start a cult of some kind.
    You seriously need to STOP, examine yourself, think about some of the bizarre rants and conclusions you are starting to throw out, and get into a biblical church. Do you go to church? Do you have a pastor?
    I know you were hurt and mistreated in the past in church, so was I. I know you feel like many Christians and pastors are phonies, I feel that to. But that doesn't mean we get to fly off the deep end and start saying perverse and strange things.

      Christ redeemed all,not all will believe towards salvation.>>>2Pe 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even DENYING the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

      Through his blood but not on the cross, it is on the mercy seat that the blood can forgive past sins, and that is in heaven.

      The Word Independent Baptist Church Greetings in our Saviour Jesus Christ. With love and respect; your pejorative condescending tone bespeaks the 'pseudointellectual navel gazing' that so vainly passes for scriptural enlightenment in this 'press a button to know' age. And this as Christians sit counting the tendrils of lint gathering wistfully in the circular nooks of supposed Christian apologetics.
      It is the era of the cessation of thinking FOR YOURSELF. Whilst the dichotomy of 'Duh?' presupposes itself the magistrate of genius...without so much as a THOUGHT. Consuming the possible refuse of someone else's conclusions; again, WITHOUT so much as a THOUGHT.
      Kevin isn't ranting, he's exposing the subterfuge the devil himself has laid down like land mines, and continues to put down, brilliantly. Kevin is raising scriptural THINKERS, people in love with every syllable, consonant, and vowel of scripture; unwilling to lay it bare to the ravages and abuses of THOUGHTLESSNESS. In other words: LET MY PEOPLE THINK! With much love in Christ, humbly, TJBreen🕊✝️❤️🔥🔥🔥

      I have come to the conclusion that serious thinking is too painful for some. Kevin is an exception, even though I have some disagreements. He is willing to do heavy thinking for himself, and is trying to get others to think through the scriptures for themselves instead of blindly following popular teachings. For that he is to be commended.

    We die because we were in the first Adam when he sinned, we live if we are in the last Adam, Jesus. 1 Corinthians 15:45, Jesus is “ the resurrection and the life:” John 11:25.

      Go Lightly
      We die spiritually once we sin.
      Physical death is part of the curse that is upon all of creation. Animals die too.

      Go Lightly
      The curse was physical death. The result of sin is spiritual death....
      Jas 1: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
      15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
      Gen 3: 6 ¶ And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
      The day they ate from the tree they surely did die. Spiritually.

    Thanks brother but a life time of decption is not easy to unlearn. Especially When those who are supposed to know better, do not know what they are talking about. Since I have not been taught sound doctrine, I am now most confused. I believe it is now harder to learn the truth in confusion of the past30to40 years of half truths.
