Thank you so much for your video I'm looking forward to getting into pediatric home health nursing, preferably overnights! My only concern is, how often do you have cancellations in this field? Thank you :)
When I was doing home health nursing I never really had cancellations because the agency didn’t have enough nurses. If anything they’ll be calling you a lot for assignments. 😊
Hello! Just graduated last month and i'm doing a lot of research about different types of nursing jobs and not just in a hospital. Is home health something you would recommend to a new grad as a first job and without past medical experience? The only clinical experience i've had is through school. Thank you!
I would recommend for you to get at least one year of experience in the hospital. Once you have that year under your belt it’ll help you in the long run when applying for jobs.
Thank you for your informative video!! I have 7 months in-hospital experience, and at the same time as that I also worked at a clinic for a year. If I tried home health nursing and figured out it wasn't for me, do you think it would be hard to find hospital work in the future? Also, do you get lots of opportunities to practice wound care?
Thanks for subscribing! I’m not sure if the company is still operating. However, if you look up home health for medically fragile children in your area, you should be able to find companies that way.
i have even walked in where there were dogs that kept barking at me and the patient refused to put the dog away. But that was only once, still I have much more sanity and peace working by myself and having 1:1 time with my patient compared to being stressed and overstimulated on the floor
Home health nurse here I have worked with a family that had a cluttered home and later on realized that after “helping” to de-clutter was just for the sake of keeping me busy😂. The stuff (trinkets) would find its way back into the house and I brought it to the parents attention and they laughed saying that the stuff would always be there so that I stay busy doing something. I do not understand the logic behind that
Home health/ Hospice Nurse here. I spend years on the floor. Thanks you, but you can get over those cons.
Yea, the cons aren’t that bad really.
The pay rates are usually sub par.
Not necessarily. Depends on the case
Usually very sub par.

@@Remarkablebrittany I agree. As a new nurse, you need at least one hospital experience. This foundation will be applied in any field of nursing.

I've worked in many hospitals as a RN for 20 years. Hospitals are always hiring registered nurses. Always.
Hey question, how does overtime work in home health, that’s one thing holding me back from trying home health
New subscriber!🙋🏾♀️❤️ I never heard of a pediatric group home. Whats the proper name of it? Did you like it?

Have you ever walked in a cluttered home
Yes, I’ve worked in homes that had alot of clutter. However, I usually don’t take those assignments long term.
