That couple in the red car are named Gene and Jan. They lived in Spring valley. It's a 1929 car. They did wind up selling the car and their home and moved back with family in Missouri. Super nice couple!

I wouldn't live anywhere else. I've lived in Mayer 13 years. We are the friendliest people. But leave your city attitude behind when you visit. Hiking in the area is so beautiful looking down on this small town. Hardly ever over 100 degrees and hardly ever under 32°.

Nice job filming again John, also great job keeping that windshield clean ! That part when you was recording the old T model Ford or whatever it was felt like I was riding along looking out the passenger window.....great zooming & you are driving with the other hand on steering wheel, man you are a BEAST.

JohnJon--go to the Inland Empire and many suburban areas of L.A. Show us the homelessness and economic collapse in these areas. It not only occurs in downtown L.A., but also in the surrounding, suburban areas too.

@@johnjon6159 I see breaking news that gasoline reaches $5.00 a gallon in many places in California. Can you add some commentary about it when you visit different areas? Poverty, homelessness, and now skyrocketing gasoline prices!

My friend moved to Vegas, conservative, not sure why there , i believe family, and he cruises a H2 there and they compliment him; when he goes back to OJAI CA they give him the finger; i guess its the broad vocabulary of kalifornians

I used to own that house at the 13:02 minute mark. The street is called Aqua Fria not Main Street.

The 'smokestack' in Mayer, AZ 6:08 has an 'interesting' history. It serves/served no actual purpose and was built to attract land investment from gullible folks 'back East' at the turn of the century. Old tires and debris were burned to give the impression of 'industry' and mining development in this area of AZ which had none to speak of, although copper/precious metals were being mined nearby. It was on this premise that homesteads and [bogus] mining claims were being sold in this basically no-man's land between Phoenix and Prescott to folks looking to find their fortunes in this new American frontier.
