- I visit a Thailand Motor Show and discover over half of the models are now EVs, I feel this trend is only just beginning. To my surprise there are some other events going on simultaneously with the auto show so we make an evening out of it.

Looks like a big day. Still not sure about EVs yet. I don't imagine I'll own one in my lifetime. Great footage of the girls at the car show - much more interesting than the cars. The Bug Show looked fun!
Good job China is building enough coal fired power stations to produce all those green cars.
Good point.
The appetite for EVs is dropping off in developed countries, so the manufacturers are diving into developing countries to replace that disappearing market, by selling them the 'It's the future' line.
On trip from bkk to pattaya i went to 6 charging stations before I found one that was operational.
@@emeldahay That sounds like the UK.
Sales trend data shows a 4% growth in EV sales YOY, albeit slow the demand is increasing, not “dropping off”. There is a reason you are seeing more EVs at car shows because that IS the direction things are going. It is estimated by 2025 10% of all new car sales will be EV and that is projected to be over 60% by 2040. The EV takeover will not be overnight but, make no mistake it IS coming, and coming hard.
French fries actually come from Belgium.
No idea why they are called French fries?
Maybe because French is spoken in one part of Belgium?
Thank you very much for sharing great video lilo 🎗🎗🤗
Toyota do manufacture a few EVs but they've stated many times that EVs are a long way in the future. They see Hybrids as the best option until new battery tech makes EVs a viable solution.
EVs are a bit complicated for Thailand as the country is large with a lot of undeveloped areas so hard to provide charging in my opinion for both charging areas and at home charging, but in the big cities and towns is good because in heavy traffic situations you are not wasting fuel by sitting stationary in the traffic jams, suitable for both buses and taxi in fact in China ICE vehicles are not allowed for buses or taxi's. With the long charging times, an 8 hour journey would easily become a 10/11 hour journey. Suvarnabhumi Airport has a fleet of EV taxis but at a price higher than ICE taxis
My condo has 4 ev chargers. If you don't move car within 30 mins of it finishing you pay 300 baht for occupying the space. I get why they do that. BUT... That means if your car says it will finish charging at 4am you need to set an alarm to wake up and move your car. Yeah, not something EV lovers talk about.
There's areas in China and Korea where they're banning EV charging in Condo u/ground car parks because of the fire risk (Less likely but almost impossible to extinguish).
4 chargers for how many apartments ?
Likely that is all the loading main cables supplying the building can take.
Having your own house or townhouse were ya can plug in yourself has the advantage here

Does Thailand have the infrastructure to charge EVs? If not what's the point in trying to sell them in Thailand.
Glad you went back. Very good sized crowd. Small EV is tempting price point.
Hey Lucas , Yes EV here in the uk nobody wants them price dropping second hand very hard to sell I am thinking Petroleum Diesel owners want to keep now going forward I thinking Hydrogen would be better Cheers Chris
Beautiful Beauties and electric vehicles = Awesome. I will look for those adult beverages!!
The show had some beautiful girls there and the Beer garden, looked like you were in Khao San rd. , all young. I'll take the diesel or gas cars and trucks all the time. Thanks Loucous.
I have a cousin that lives on Oahu Hawaii that has an EV. But Oahu is a small island, and you could drive the entire island easily on a single charge. But it gets far more complicated for long distance travel in America. I drove to Yellowstone National Park 4 years ago. It would have taken far more planning to do that trip in an EV. I can't say that I know if it would even be possible to do that trip in an EV. Far too few charging stations that I'm aware of.
For the first time in your videos, the car show models were average at best. That initial singing group in the Luz clothing looked bored to death lol!
I am not really up on Thailand's infrastructure, but can their electricity grid cope with the higher demand that EVs bring with them?
Does Thailand have much Hydro-power?
Not a chance go into Google street view in any urban street and look at the mess of cables everywhere
If you're only doing local travel, a home solar could work adequately. With the accident rate in TH and the severe results EV accidents have, probably not such a great option for anyone that travels further.
The Thai electricity infrastructure is terrible. Coal and fossil fuel energy plants is producing electricity. Thailand doesn't have 1 wind turbine farm or hydro plant farm. Wrong country for EVs.
EV sales in developed countries is dropping especially when the state subsidizing is reduced or removed. Thais will wake up to the bitter taste when they realize the de-priciation is brutal. Charging infrastructure is sub par i Thailand. And elecreicity prices will soar in the upcomming years. EVs is an upper middle class/rich thing and they will buy Evs until the reality hits them in the face. Chinese Ev manufacturers also gives Thai decicion makers commission for their unregulated imports of Chinese EVs.
It was nice to see a lack of foreigners their (present company excluded). ;-)
FYI, sizzler salad bar buffet offers at a special price of 139 baht.
October Fest time of year might be explanation for German flag.
How about some prices?
ขอบคุณที่รักเมืองไทย❤❤❤❤❤❤
Danke für das Video Lukas 👍 Gruß Achim ☕️
I will NEVER buy an EV.
What happens with the Burnouts that appear to occur so often in Asian countries. The electric vehicles will all over the place as empty vehicles
BYD.. Build Your Dreams ..... BYD.. Burn Your Dollars
5:26 Dude that's like sitting in Philly in a Cowboys shirt!! 555+
Big Issues with EV's in the States is where You Live They don't
Charge very good in the Cold or Fast and the Prise of a Replacement
Battery is crazy ..And Tires wear faster due to the Weight of the
Moter...SIZZLER ?? I love those Ours in Nags Head Close Years ago..
"in 10 years it will be all electric vehicles in the USA" president Joe Biden😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The e car al the same ugly!!
Like you.
@@PREPFORIT Ohh,you know me?🤔
Good one. Enjoyed watching.never a dulll moment in Thailand
There was never any demand for ev and people in the west have seen through the 24/7 propaganda.
Thailand is even less of a market with no infrastructure ever capable of being developed in high density urban areas.
In Germany e car market is dead nobody want!!
wrong as usual.
@@PREPFORIT Look at VW and you wil understand,or you a bit stupid???
Take up of EVs in China is huge, notice that TH-camrs comment how quiet the traffic is in Chinese cities, not to mention the commensurate improvement in air quality. Imagine a clean, quiet Bangkok...the disruption is well underway and the ICE companies in the west are now in crisis due to their complacency and resistance to change....🥳
The French Fries should rather have a Belgium Flag , cause there from Belgium :D
nope WRONG
