Thank you Sankar. Welcome to the channel. Kannada is very easy to learn. All it takes is just some consistent practice and give yourself lots of time to learn it. Don't expect to learn it in 1 month. Give yourself several months and you'll enjoy the process. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me. The description of the video has some details that is informative.
You play with both and see which one you prefer and do it that way. I prefer the round because that shows it is your handwriting and not a print. My fav Kannada teacher from school used to write ka and cha with the round and it looked so beautiful - like pearls. I've seen my mother's handwriting in Kannada and she also writes ka and cha with round. The line was designed to make the alphabet reusable when typing / printing.
Thank you Anil. Are you asking about the consonant ಳ? Here's a video that will give you some additional details about the consonant ಳ th-cam.com/video/-Pq1mPyZ6h4/w-d-xo.html Let me know if that helps. Sounds of Kannada series of videos help improve the pronunciation of words.
The sound for ಳ does not exist in Hindi, albeit some other languages that use the Devanagari script (like Marathi or Konkani) do have a letter that corresponds to it 'ळ'.
Hi @ayushsundan, 0:26 -- gnya and 1:12 -- nya -- Does this help? The best way to know the difference is to say it along with the video and practice it several times. Just listening to the video will not help. Try it, speak it out and enjoy the process of learning :-)
@PavitranSh - Thank you for the request. The best way to learn a new language is to learn the language in its own form instead of relating it with another language. When the mind is trying to relate it to other languages the focus becomes distorted.

@@sachhinGB Good observation. Yes, those letters were part of akshara male when I learned Kannada in the 1980s. In the newest aksharamale chart as of the year 2024, some alphabets have been removed. Ksha is a no longer part of vyanjana because it is a vijathi otthakshara.
Hello, could you tell me who is not pronouncing ಙ properly? @@PushpaNotes she might have meant, the pen was not lifted up till the stroke was completed. In shorthand, the term stroke is used much. These are all old school words.
@@RajendraPrasad-zc6kh Thank you, yes I remember shorthand. I dropped out of shorthand class when I realized keyboards would be the future :)... I still would like to know what they meant, because when someone talks about strokes, in the year 2023, to me it means calligraphy. Different font styles have different strokes. I have Kannada calligraphy videos where the same alphabets have been written beautifully in different styles. One of my fav styles is in this video = th-cam.com/video/FtW_CEh-Lww/w-d-xo.html Here's the entire Kannada Calligraphy playlist = th-cam.com/play/PLQ7Pw9VaWwMd9u9JugN2RLecEMMmeuNS9.html Casual handwriting is completely different from calligraphy that depicts alphabets as an art. The little round you add in ka and cha, is it optional? Can we just replace it with a line as seen in print?
