Crazy how Farigiraf is one of those pokemon that can just have the answer for everything regardless of how the meta progresses and not be an oppressive force to be reckoned with. Actually a very well designed pokemon
This was definitely a nice evolution, stat-wise and design wise. Would never expect bipolar girafe to use its other half as a hoodie but I really like it.
I gave Farigiraf Boomburst in Sketchmons, a singles format where you can reach any poke a single move. Turns out consolidating anti-priority, anti-Substitute on top of the obscene power of STAB Boomburst is really good. I wish it got the move for real. :/
Bro, I was so happy when Farigiraf was announced back in SV's hype season. In recent years, Gen 2 Pokemon have gotten a lot of well needed buffs and it's wonderful to see.
Tropius NEEDS some love honestly, I recently looked at its BST and was Shocked. Like someone else pointed out in the comments, Gen2 has been getting a lot of love- hopefully Gen 3 is next. Delcatty, Tropius, Exploud, Castform, just off the top of my head, could all use some love. Roaring Moon and Iron Hands are sick as hell though. (Also Carnivine evolution when??)
He needs a BST overhaul. Maybe also give it a signature version of Harvest that always recycle the berry regardless of weather. Then make a signature move that makes the target (including itself in singles) eat Tropius's berry at double the effect. Really builds on the its lore of feeding other Pokemon.
this video reminded me of the constant anguish im in because of the shiny girafarig i hunted specifically to evolve in oras that i called Yay!!!!! cause my 3ds was about to die and now i can't fucking rename it
Farigiraf was one of my favourite new mons ever since its reveal, I have been waiting so long for true giraffe pokemon, it's so nice to see it's useful in VGC as well!
I had a rogue doubles team way back during ORAS that had Sap Sipper Girafarig holding Light Clay (Dual Screens) as a linchpin alongside Meganium with Petal Blizzard. This composition was sort of on a dare where a guy had made a list called "fully evolved Pokemon to never use for any reason. The pairing actually had better success than one would think...I won more games than I lost. Part of that is because people would usually go to attack Girafarig first because they assumed that Meganium was gonna be a stall mon, so I'd heal up the first round after setting up my either Reflect or Light Screen (depending on opponents) thanks to Petal Blizzard into Sap Sipper.
A signature version of Seed Sower but the terrain set depend on the terrain seed Meganium hold. Ability also have 50% chance of recycling a terrain seed at the end of the turn and heals HP when terrain seed is consumed.
I still think my favourite application of Farigiraf was Freezai using it in the Smogon World Tour (I think???) in PU where he essentially made it into an extreme speed killer
I never cared about Girafarig until Farigiraf got revealed (and the Nova League) I really like giraffes as pokemon so we finally got a tall one I was so happy.
I loved Farigiraf when it was first revealed, then I used it on my doubles ladder teams since reg A. As a strong Farigiraf believer, I love that even now in reg F Farigiraf is living its best life. (Also my shiny Farigiraf is just the goodest of girls. She's faced so many Incineroar and Tornadus)
Farigiraf is anything but niche in regulation G, every single time I play its either calyrex + farigiraf or calirex + indeede F or THE THREE TOGETHER XDDD
Want to know something funny? If you use trick room on sticky web than it turns into a speed boost for your team instead of something that slows you down.
Even this off meta Pokemon's off meta ability, Sap Sipper, gained some interesting results. While this team couldn't make Day 2 at Worlds 2023, it was quite the troll move: Rillaboom: I'm gonna Wood Hammer you, bruh. gg Farigiraf: What's my ability, cuz? *Sap Sipper activates* Farigiraf: Call an ambulance, but not for me! Rillaboom: Haha, I'm in danger!
I know this video is about Farigiraf but can we talk about how Illumise apparently got a win at the 2024 San Antonio Regionals? I mean, I'm not upset about it, in fact, I'm happy that one of my favorite bug types might finally have a niche. But still, how?
Probably got extremely lucky. There are no niche roles or anything. Only good and bad pokemon that can win tourneys. Good being a lot of legendaries, CHien Pao, Incineroar and urshifu bad being mons that don't contribute much to the team and could easily be replaced.
ive played this mon SO MUCH at some point i began leaning more and more into the weird side of it this thing has access to psychic fangs to remove aurora veil, and beat up. You thing beat up is bad? Well it is but it also does a funny thing to your stamina archaludon in tr just go embrace farigiraf it actually is the most off meta pokemon
I think you forgot about one dominant VGC threat thats been on the rise lately. Wellspring Ogerpon has insane usage stats along with incineroar, Flutterman and Urshifu. Incineroar's existence invalidates 60-80% of supports, Urshifu in rain and terra water can ohko almost anything and Ogerpon idk what makes her so broken but she is super broken and Flutterman has stupid SPA choices on top of being a fairy type pokemon specifically Fairy Ghost i believe.
Hate to tell you this but ogerpon is used with Urshifu commonly nowadays at least like right now. I don't think its countering urshifu and its common on a lot of rain cores. The more i understand competitive the more i think it shouldn't be a thing. Pokemon was not built with competitive in mind regardless of gens and every gen has issuesx competitive side and all the rng and broken mons that are allowed and there is hardly any diversity at all and we are slowly approaching a meta where everyone uses the same 6 mons in every major and stacked tourney. Incineroar replaced supports for the most part, urshifu became way too broken because of tera being an unhealthy balanced mess that let stab stacking get too extreme which is far worse than mega and primals and Fluttermane is the primary special sweeper and is extremely tanky on the spec defensive side and extremely fast and powerful. They should discontinue VGC or do a complete gameplay overhaul next gen cause its mad boring and toxic seeing how homogenized metas are.@@RainMarrlen
Wished it has a little more bulk alongside somethig like recover for singles.itkind interesting to see how a pokemon can be vastly favored in doubles vs singles thanks to its tools. Armored Tail in singles in basically useless on this mon as you're opponent would probably naturally outspeed however it also helps teammates meaning they'll be fine and prority is far more common in doublee than singles. VGC being much faster makes trick room more impactful while in singles you basically lost a turn of it going into your main abuser. Imprison comes up more often thanks to it lesrning things like helping hands. 120/70/70 bulk is solid but in singles not insanly bulky however doubled has less stray hits and hazards menaing it will stay at full HP longer allowong it to tank better

The ultimate equalizer
The more long neck pokemon are around, the better farigiraf becomes.
He was the first, so they must pay tribute!
Anti-priority ability plus Trick Room/Anti-Trick Room utility, there should simply never be a reason to not at least consider the mon!
This was definitely a nice evolution, stat-wise and design wise. Would never expect bipolar girafe to use its other half as a hoodie but I really like it.
Wish there's an alt with 2 heads but the tail took over the body.
You heard the girl GF, now give Delcatty an evolution with some REAL stats/ability 😊
Or purrugly
"Lets make an early game rodent tier mon require a Moon Stone to evolve."
Some Gamefreak employee, 2001
And give it a long neck
"Normalize but ignore Type matchups"
@@turtle_7777delcatty evolves and gets 70 base attack, 112 speed, and huge power. Purrugly gets 112 hp, 80 defense, and fur coat.

Boomburst is always nice on Normal Pokes. It'll probably not get it though if they'd stick with the giraffe theme.
A giraffe Pokémon with an actual long neck is something we've needed for a while. Love Farigiraf so much.
Bro, I was so happy when Farigiraf was announced back in SV's hype season. In recent years, Gen 2 Pokemon have gotten a lot of well needed buffs and it's wonderful to see.
Let’s rally to make Tropius and Exeggutor-Alola viable so we can have a Long Neck Theory
Tropius NEEDS some love honestly, I recently looked at its BST and was Shocked.

I love ur powerpoints and how u say everything so fast in the start lololol. PS: How did you come up with your channel name?
Kazuya reference (Electric Wind God Fist). Thanks!
Mons like Farigiraf, Ursaluna, Clodsire are why brand new evolutions/regional forms are infinitely cooler than gimmicks, even Megas

coming back here after my favorite giraffe was on 3 of the top 4 teams of Charlotte Regionals
This means Meganium needs buffs! More Longnecks
A signature version of Seed Sower but the terrain set depend on the terrain seed Meganium hold. Ability also have 50% chance of recycling a terrain seed at the end of the turn and heals HP when terrain seed is consumed.
Big news for me because I just found a shiny girafarig
I just realized that I watch these videos because they remind me of Epic Rap Battles of History/Death Battle!

you should do one on hydrapple next
Good to see Clodsire man adress the giraffe in the room

My guess is Prankster. Prankster is one hell of an ability.
It’s so upsetting to see Iron Hands nowhere in the top 12

been binging these vids, these are great!
My reg e team works better than my reg f team for vgc on showdown funnily enough. Even incin can’t save me here.
i luv giraf :3
idk why they chose normal psychic when dark psychic was RIGHT there
dark coloured doesn't mean dark type. :X

Yeah, it's got Prankster with Fake Tears, Tailwind, and Encore. There isn't any other mon with all those things at the same time.
Day 5 asking about a powerpoint on Terrakion in PU

I watch your videis religiously and I love how you explain everything! Have you ever considered doing longer videos?
Good video
The real meta is running tsareena instead. Wait this started as a joke comment but that might nkt even be the worst idea ever

Low effort posts about garbage non-player driven meta
Giraf in Farigiraf is pronounced Giraffe. Nintendo is wrong.
It is also the most ugly pokemon. They did Girafarig dirty
