First off, great review! I would love to have some information on the remote activation, though. I should mention to people concerned about the price: just bought this drone Friday at Walmart, remote control included, $199 plus tax. Much easier to digest any shortcomings at that price.

What a solid and informative video. Part of my ground school for sure. Well produced and what I appreciate the most: KNOWING YOUR PRODUCT BEFORE ATTEMPTING to review it. Clearly the gentleman had 'wood-shedded' his topic. Bummer about the MAC app crashing (LOL) but hey, nothing is perfect in this world and sometimes its ample enough not to waste our time. This was amazing , i loved this video . It was really an in-depth review . I wish all products had reviews like this . Also what a cute little drone , I think that it is good to make some Aerial Shots and stuff like that . For me personally the only downside is that the camera doesn't have a gimbal . I think I like the orbit feature best because I plan to use this for travelling...it will show the place best given its rotation around to show the view with you in it.

I haven't tried the raw but with other digitally stabilized craft i've used it just takes a raw fisheye pic. The lights are a con on this drone as there are really no indicator lights just the internal flight controller lights shining through.

Another good and through review. I almost purchased this a few times but I'm glad I held off, no one else demo'd just how weak some of the so-called intelligent features worked. But I most say the video was impressive, even the stabilized video looked very good. I have already ordered the DJI Spark, so this is no longer on my radar.
Thanks for another thorough review Dustin! It is hard to recommend considering its shortcomings and the price tag. Perhaps it will come down in price with the arrival of the Spark?? It would then make for a decent starter drone for someone not too fussed about the lack of a controller. I am still finding it hard to believe that Yuneec launched this product with a FAP function that is weaker than our 2015 XK X380s... Especially since you managed to get a lock on 16 gps in your house! The auromated flight algorithms definitely need some work.
Mine had the controller in the box. -This seems to only connect to devices that has cellular service, I suspect so they can keep tabs on you. -I bought this to be a hovering camera while I flew the Phantom 4, It ties up your main phone even with goggles or the controller because they both just connect with the phone. -Also if there is an issue, a large window opens up with the warning on top of the on screen toggles making them unusable till you clear the warning. -There is a small percentage of people that have controller pairing issues, sadly I am included in that. - mine would never move that fast even setting the speed to max. They added software to greatly limit these. Says it on the official website. If you are a fast runner, it would not keep up with you on follow so bicycles would leave it behind. -For the price, it's not a bad drone, "you get what you pay for" I have not used the entry level DJI so I could not fairly compare them but I cant help but wonder if it is a better drone because of my experience with 2 of the top tier DJI drones.

I just dug mine out to check on batteries and make sure they were still chargeable. They were. There is now an Android app that defeats the geofence and will let the drone fly about 1/4 mile or so. This probably exceeds the range of the camera transmission. These were actually nice little drones, I never understand why Yuneec intentionally crippled them with the geofence. I understand the selfie intention, but there was no reason they could not have sold a lot more without the limitations. I plan to fly a few batteries through mine. I wish they would have packaged it with a more useful carrying case, maybe a shoulder bag type, since it will fly without a controller and is fairly light for vacation usage / hiking / etc.
Flew my Breeze for the first time today! When I plugged the USB cable to transfer my photos to my PC, I realized that the USB connector in the drone is loose as if the circuit board is mounted on dampers. Is yours like that??? BTW, great video!
The follow me function works fine. You could have known that if you read the instructions when you first opened the skill. Instead of reading it, even thought it was in English, you skipped over it, and didn't find out that you have to define what you want the drone to follow. If you don't tell the drone what to follow, it will have to assume that if something in the frame moves, that is what it has to follow. It wasn't a software or hardware problem. It was a user problem. Other than that, great review.

I haven't used either in so long I a don't think my opinion would be valid since so many updates. Parrot is known for having good working software/hardware.

Gggrrr you just swore at me, re parrot Beebop, being wheelchair bound i spent months saving up for one, day it turned up I was hospitalised for two and a half months, finally got home again was soo looking forward to bebop first flight to find not one of the batteries worked, they just got hot to point of smoking when charged, spoke to parrot and all they said was need to contact vender I got it from, vender said not our issue need to speak to parrot, so now have real expensive paperweight. Ps great vid. 👍

I think you have never flown any drone. The drone has wifi himself. You just connect with his wifi. The wifi is not for doing searching on the internet.
@@mhess427 absolutely worth it...you can also use a hobby grade charger and charge it to 4.40 volts per cell at 1.7 amps and get 13 full minutes of flight time. It will not hurt the battery as long as you immediately fly it with the extra power being in it.
You did a good review. But Yuneec I feel has made a half ass attempt to make a selfy drone. My first pro class drone was a Yuneec and I was so proud. And each time a Dji nut put Yuneec down I would be the first to stand up on there behalf. But now i'm a Dji nut.

a few companies can learn something about user friendly mechanism, but the battery system, how they attach them isn't user friendly to buy replacements! think this isn't a drone for flying around. better for follow me shots or selfies

Hi Jay. For that price , yes. It has many of the same functions as higher end drones and would be a good learner for centering shots and practicing control and functionality before spending more on higher end. Like I said, For the price you mentioned it's a deal. I'd try to get ahold of their physical controller also and it will open up the distance and give you generally a much better user experience 👍
I bought this for like 300 dollars at launch and it's really shaky and the hovering is unstable, so I traded it in and spent more for a spark when it came free with remote control. And I love it

Do you know if you can fly these over a lake or would there be instability due to the craft not sensing the surface of the water well?

Too bad about losing the camera footage. Best job I’ve seen of keeping the controller within the view of the body cam.

What is the best photography drone with good stabilization and many functions around $100-$150? Just to film places and things like that.

I am thinking the USB connector is on the same board as the camera (to save cost) and the whole thing is on dampers to help with EIS...

There is a connection, via wifi radiowaves, between the drone and the phone or tablet that is controlling it, not a wifi connection to the internet.

Gggrrr you just swore at me, re parrot Beebop, being wheelchair bound i spent months saving up for one, day it turned up I was hospitalised for two and a half months, finally got home again was soo looking forward to bebop first flight to find not one of the batteries worked, they just got hot to point of smoking when charged, spoke to parrot and all they said was need to contact vender I got it from, vender said not our issue need to speak to parrot, so now have real expensive paperweight.

Do you need wifi to use it?
I think you have never flown any drone. The drone has wifi himself. You just connect with his wifi. The wifi is not for doing searching on the internet.

@@mhess427 absolutely worth it...you can also use a hobby grade charger and charge it to 4.40 volts per cell at 1.7 amps and get 13 full minutes of flight time.
It will not hurt the battery as long as you immediately fly it with the extra power being in it.
I got two batteries with mine and eight props and bolts

You did a good review. But Yuneec I feel has made a half ass attempt to make a selfy drone. My first pro class drone was a Yuneec and I was so proud. And each time a Dji nut put Yuneec down I would be the first to stand up on there behalf. But now i'm a Dji nut.

I had this Breeze last Christmas. Very disappointed and returned it. The 4K is a joke. I just received The Spark. Love it...the best selfie drone so far. Where is your Spark review.
a few companies can learn something about user friendly mechanism, but the battery system, how they attach them isn't user friendly to buy replacements! think this isn't a drone for flying around. better for follow me shots or selfies

Hi Jay. For that price , yes. It has many of the same functions as higher end drones and would be a good learner for centering shots and practicing control and functionality before spending more on higher end. Like I said, For the price you mentioned it's a deal. I'd try to get ahold of their physical controller also and it will open up the distance and give you generally a much better user experience 👍
If you had calibrated it, as you should, it might return to home better.
I bought this for like 300 dollars at launch and it's really shaky and the hovering is unstable, so I traded it in and spent more for a spark when it came free with remote control. And I love it
