Nice deep dive into the "under the hood" kinda stuff. Sag and Speaker impedance are my regular tweaks. 10:50 the Solo 100 tone stack sounded nice it just needed some more bottom but the top was ripping. Leon, G66 & Fractal thank you guys for the hours and hours of killer tones.
Another amazing video Leon. Thank you so much. Does anyone else find turning the speaker impedance value way down gives the tone a real nice scooped sound? It seems to work better for dipping the mids in the output EQ for me.
As having a ibanez Jem with evolution pickups . I find them to be darker sounding . To replicate something I heard with P90’s . I used bright switch . And eq settings. I find it pretty close 👍 sooo many options, one can get lost.. but it’s great
Hey Leon - amazing sound. I just got an Axe FX 3 II. I can't get the factory presets to sound as open and lively as I want and as your sound. Can you give some info on your signal chain and some tips? Thanx.
What you're hearing is guitar - Axe-Fx - DI to pro tools with no post processing, which leaves your guitar and monitoring environment as the 2 biggest factors. Try rolling some of your own basic amp - cab presets to see what sits well with you.
You can get his Cab's on axe-change, it's the LT TV MIX 7 axechange.fractalaudio.com/search-results-cabs.php?search=2112&fields=username&products=0&setups=0
Ok I'll let out a secret sauce. Boomy bassy amps- turn down the B+ Time constant by around -.30, tightens things up. Need more tightness? Turn down bias excursion by -.5% or so. Don't tell nobody 😅
I think guitarist are in denial about modeling. It’s still plastic and shrill sounding. Even the kings of modeling… actually bad tone, frankly. If you need 1000 parameters to get an acceptable tone, it’s time to reevaluate the product. Listen to channels that use real, all tube rigs and it’s night and day. All that organic warmth and natural harmonic spread and bloom. Even if an amp is fizzy like a EVH can be, it’s still a pleasant and life like texture.
I've owned over a dozen heads in my lifetime. I'm 43 now. Most of my axe presets sound spot on to the real deal, without even touching advanced parameters. There are folks in my circle who cork and fart sniffed like you. All failed the test both in a full mix, and isolated. The only one who is delusional, is you. And I mean that with the utmost sincerity sir.😂
Love it! You make tweaking knobs less scary for me. Thank you.
Just...wow. I'm going to be busy tweaking tones for the next year! LOL. Thanks again LT.
That tone at around @4:40 is phenomenal

Gains around 73%

@@G66eu ok thanx.
I dig how you approach every amp in the ax fx like one would for the real amp. And dial up a bitch’n tone.
Great stuff
Nice but a bit harsh?
Great. What Cab did you use in this preset?
