What an amazing group of talent you've assembled. The details on the most insignificant items are what separates your craftsmanship from the rest of the others and elevates you to one of the top-tier facilities. Everything in your place is at the level of concurs, Riddler, etc. Thoroughly enjoy watch your videos and wonder why more enthusiasts haven't found about about you yet. But they will... The cream always rises to the top.
Yeah saw the Cortina the Jag & the Alfa at the Prescott hill climb event on Harry’s garage. All 3 cars looked incredible. Well done they looked fantastic.
Coincidentally, i have just finished watching Harrys video which had a couple Retropower cars in it which were looking great. Love the variety of cars you work on and the attention to detail.
Having spent months watching the back catalogue of video's it's nice to be able to watch in (almost) real time. Well done chaps, and here's looking forward to the next update. Thanks!
What timing. Harry Metcalfe (Harry's Garage) gave away the Jag today in his video at Prescott Hillclimb...along with the Cortina (and a light blue Alfa that sounds delicious.) You're been trumped! LOL
Re coolant bleeding. A little trick we used to do to Ford 2.3 and 2.8 v6's was prop open the thermostat valve, at the top, with a small piece of match stick. This allowed the air to escape during initial bleed and the match would drop out on first opening.
A tip for you - keep making their teas/coffees to their tastes and they'll keep getting you to make them - keep getting it wrong 'accidentally' and they'll dstop getting you to make them. XJ-C is gorgeous! Been a fan since John Peel had one - another cultural reference for you 😉 I'd've gone for a tweaked, supercharged Jag' V8 though - but the LS does the job, too - and it's not like it was my car 😢 With the thermostat, I'm not familiar with that engine's cooling system, but an 'old school' mod' may help? If there isn't one already in it, drill a 1.5 - 2mm air bleed hole in the 'plate' at what will be the upper portion of the 'stat. It will make it slightly slower to warm up, but removes the worry about air-locks causing cooling problems.
The car that steed drove was a v12. And has recently been found in a lock up garage is being restored. It has the bigger arches. BRG. I HAD ONE IN 1982. XJC. Straight 6. Loved it was a beautiful car I sold it when I needed money a year later for a grand.
That XJC is gorgeous. I’d have stuck with the Jag V12 and period wheels but everything else is really freaking good. Bumpers are of the meter! Huge Lancia fan so that Stratos project is awesome. Is it an original Stratos of a kit like Lister Bell. They make the best rep that’s true to the original. Love the busso swap if you don’t have an original rally spec mag cased Dino V6. Not even Ferrari ever got their hands on those.
The Jag is really stunning, no wonder you are proud of it. What are you doing with the yellow Hillman / Singer / Sunbeam? Would really like to see some footage of it.
perhaps there's something i don't know about tea, but when preparing a mug of coffee the correct stoichiometric mix is only achieved by starting with the desired amount of cream or half-and-half in the mug, dusting the sweetener of your choice onto the top of it, and then pouring in too-hot, fresh black coffee from as high a point as is feasible or can be tolerated by the operator. this transfers the maximum amount of energy to the brew, stirring itself, while simultaneously cooling the liquid to a palatable temperature and the mug to a comfortable temperature for the hands. everyone knows this, right
I'm surprised you don't use a vacuum filler for coolant, we always used it in the Renault dealership I worked in until recently and it works great - you know there are no airlocks.
The Cortina smashed it @ Prescott. Was it driven there or trailered? I'd love to see the snagging list after that event. The Alfa sounded lovely on Harry's video.
@@retropowercars Sounds good to me. Looked pretty good anyway. More interesting ( if you want to share ) would be whats on the snagging list. The work you do is great but IMHO there will always be those little things that you never considered when you were designing/building the car.
Would suicide doors on the Morris be allowed (legal)? With the driver and steering wheel so far back it looks like it could be an easy, and stylish, way in and out.
9 dislikes? Really? How can anyone dislike cars of this calibre being built to such high standards? Seeing that XJ Coupe reminded me of the only I owned 30 years ago. It never looked that good though. Anyway, when the lotto win comes I’ll be knocking on your door for you to build my BMW 2002! 😎
That is the best looking Jaguar XJ coupe i have ever seen but have to say, to show us an LS 3 V8 running but not letting us hear it is an outrage.

Yes, me too, big thumbs up to the boys that made it happen. Much "blood sweat & beers" sorry tea & coffee.
I've owned a few jags but this one is off the scale, just amazing, you did an amazing job.
Every single car that you guys turn out is simply stunning. No exceptions.
Thanks for the frequent the videos Retropower. They are much appreciated.
Coincidentally, i have just finished watching Harrys video which had a couple Retropower cars in it which were looking great. Love the variety of cars you work on and the attention to detail.
Can't believe you put coffee spoon in tea.
You most certainly can not.
Can’t believe the wet spoon went into tea, coffee, coffee powder and sugar... 😡 🤣🤣🤣
I speak as a professional Yorkshire man, he did say he doesn't often make one and we know why.
The XJ is still one of my favourite of your builds. The detail work to the styling alone is just delicious.
just saw the Jag ( and Cortina) on Harry's Garage Prescott hillclimb episode...
and the Cortina - so I guess you guys made your deadline ;-)
Just about to say the same thing 🙂 he didn’t seem to like the Jag’s grill 🙄
Alfa sounded glorious 👍

Nice Plug from Harry's Garage, that could turn some business... Love your work guys, keep it going!
Please note: we are better at making cars than hot beverages 😂😂
It sure shows
No joke, Morrison's gold? And where's the big box of Yorkshire tea? Tut tut...
Had to comment on the urn, surely not 100 degrees.. tut tut
Thats not REALLY saying a whole pile
Hang on, putting the milk in before removing the tea bag? That's just WRONG.
When I worked at a Jaguar dealer in the 70's, we had 2 customers with matching XJCs both with Minilites and Pirelli CN36s... Ahh the memories :)
That Jag coupe is stunning.
Wow..that Morris is INSANE...,,ALL YOUR BUILD'S ARE 💯💥👍❤
The Cortina is a stunning project, I love what you guys have done with it.
That mk1 Cortina ❤ Just pure carporn. And details...just perfect.

No bad thing 👌😁
Just watched Harry's Garage at the Prescott hillclimb where he cemented on how much he liked the Jag Coupe, Cortina & Alfa so well done boys.
I love the newer format, the last few episodes have been great. Awesome channel guys!
Another great watch. These are so good, and I look forward to them being released.
Outstanding work there fellas.
love your work
Saw the Jag in Harry's video about Prescott Hill Climb today.
And the Cortina 😉😊
Yes, I have just seen them both on Harry's garage.
The jaguar coupe is a work of art. Absolutely stunning car.
Dennis Collins will be proud of you 👍
Looking good ,see you were at Prescott, well done.
good luck at the event - The 'tina looks awesome!
The jaguar looks wonderful, far better than the tea and coffee would taste ! .
As a former owner of a Mk 1 XJ6, that coupe is drop-dead gorgeous 👌
The Cortina is looking stunning. What you fill your mug with on the other hand... lads please get some decent coffee and a teapot for leaves!
Love the work, just subscribed, glad to have found you guys.
Loving these weekly updates guys, keep it up (English geezer in Straya) :-)
Stu is an asset and a skilled man. Live long and prosper.
Beautiful work!
Love the yellow Imp in he background, my dad raced them in Finland, back in the days.

did you build that jag amazing i wish i could do all that brilliant. you .stew and the team are great what craftsman lovely workshop / hanger
That Jag is stunning. Just found your channel. Wanting to do a similar project but on a XJ-S coupe, will get in touch.
Oustanding craftsmanship
That Jaguar coupe is the best makeover i have ever seen. I would love to see how it sounds and go`s with that V8 block.
Great Artists at work. Epic!

Nice to see and hear some of your handiwork on the 15 September Harry's Garage TH-cam channel. The favourable comments were well deserved.
Saw this at Goodwood it was instant love...
You put the wet spoon in the sugar!! I'm more disappointed than I should be 😳😉
This is some of the best car content on youtube :)
have you got a vacuum coolant filler kit? The kit is great for filling systems that tend to air lock.
Love the Jag! Jag colour for the paint?
That Cortie is spot-on
My god that Cortina is simply artwork😍😍😍😍😍😍... still waiting for that final delivery and driving video of Gordon Murray’s car?????🤔😉😂
That Jag fucking slays bro. Well done!

Funny you should say that
Best looking XJC ever.
That Stratos is sitting there, quietly planning its first murder.
I imagine it's not it's first
Exactly what I was thinking: A car renowned for squirrely handling bristling with superchargers. What could go wrong ??
The Jag is really stunning, no wonder you are proud of it. What are you doing with the yellow Hillman / Singer / Sunbeam? Would really like to see some footage of it.
Looking at the Stratos looks amazing but my god that engine bay it looks like a nightmare if anything needs tweeked 🤣.
I ❤ that XJ Coupe god level car
The Jag Coupe is a really beautiful car
would not fancy
a- reversing that Stratos like, anywhere, other than an Airfield
& b- the bill for new tyres!
Can not wait to hear and see that Stratos/Alfa V6 Supercharged . What a handful. 😂😂
Using the same spoon for coffee and tea, and sticking it in the sugar whilst it’s wet......oh the humanity 😩
That Go-tina is bloody gorgeous
Some amazing work as usual. The Jag Coupe is a stunner: What wheels are they as I think they are awesome and would look great on mine?
Came here for the Stratos , staying for the rest
How many workers are there? They all do amazing work.
Great to see another male making brews with the same spoon...anyway great video as usual, always enjoyable, cheers.
What is the color code for that green on the Cortina, please? Thank you.
Well this is well timed 😁 As YT motoring Mondays go, this one is not shit 😀
Is that stratos a prototype , kit or just one off car? I had seen a picture of a black one as a prototype years ago.
Coffee for me please. Strong and milky 👍🏻
Just watched Harry's Garage-was that some of the cars made by you guys at Prescot hillclimb?Oops I should have read the earlier comments first!
Yes, the jag, the Alfa and the Cortina
Love the Jag colour.

Awesome Jaguar.
In Florida is it for sale
The Cortina smashed it @ Prescott. Was it driven there or trailered? I'd love to see the snagging list after that event. The Alfa sounded lovely on Harry's video.
It was trailered and not driven. We now have 2 weeks to get it snag free and ready to hit the road 👌
I don’t think harry did you guys justice he should of stoped for a chat to go through some of the details.

What’s the grey car @6:02, it’s not an Alfa or citron, pug??
Brilliant team 👏👏👏🇦🇺

calls work lads love the vlogs 😜👍
Love the jag coupe, and the merc, can only imagine the cost of both builds is rather large,
Cortina 😍😍👍
U guys are top of the game
Absolutely LOVE that Jaaaaag !!

Your engineering is second to none but the tea and coffee is a travesty, made and stirred with the same spoon.
oh wow - that Stratos! Are you going to film the first startup of it?
Love the Jag!
Love the Cortina.
whats the year and model of the mercedes at 18:57 in the background?
Lotus speedster still up for sale ?
Yes
Just waiting on my lottery win so I can order a couple of cars, brilliant work.
How does one find all episodes of the jaguar xj coupe build , totally rubbish with technology can only seem to find this one?
