  • I finally moved to Japan woohoo! This is my storytime video about what it's been like to move to a different country during a pandemic. I definitely feel much safer living here right now than America for multiple reasons (job security, less covid cases, better health insurance, no riots, etc) and I'm so excited to be able to have the opportunity to film more interesting content for my channel. Thank you as always for your support!

I hope things get a little easier for you in Japan. American isn't _that_ bad right now in PDX. A lot of companies have people working from home and I think more people are on the mask train than before because they realize the sooner they stop being selfish, the sooner things will be better. I hear its pretty bad in other states like TX and FL. I love your hair like this it's super cute! I can't wait to see more of these

Irony, because I left Japan during the pandemic - visa was expiring and all other countries were closed. I don't know which country I prefer, to be honest. The US response is probably going to lead to herd immunity before anything else, but Japan's indifference (forcing teachers and workers to come in when there was no reason) was a bit much for me.

Yah definitely immunity is what’s going to save america at this point. That’s the one thing that frustrates me most about japan is the unnecessary rules and overworking >

how did you land a job in japan? also do you have a 4 year degree or did you land a job without?

I have a degree but in a totally different field, most english teaching companies want to see that you have college-level english but some companies don't require it. I just applied online through the company's website. Will require an essay, resume, and references. After that you do a skype interview and in person interview. This is how my current company was at least. Best of luck to you!

Me, watching this in January 2021 while living in Los Angeles where the daily case numbers have been around 15,000 for the past 2 months like: 👁️👝👁️

Welcome to Japan! Both the US and Japan had their highest "new cases" numbers ever yesterday. However, Japan's response has been much more sane than the lack of any competent or coherent response by the Trump administration. I do think you're better off in Japan than in the US right now. I'm still stunned that they ignored an existing, color-coded pandemic response plan:
