Edit: I did not expect people to like this post but I keep on recording them and I will post a video after 30 days. Thanks you!

I've gone through phases where I recorded dreams, and it always gets freakier and freakier until I have to stop. It's like my subconscious doesn't want me tapping into something.
My biggest dream journaling experience was back in 2017, right after Destiny 2 came out.
I remember being in a dream where I was in a town square with no other people in sight. The clock tower hadn't moved in what felt like over 15 minutes, which I thought was weird.
Then I got a notification on my phone that said "Destiny cannot connect to the internet". I thought to myself "Strange, I don't remember Destiny being a mobile game?" and then I realised I was dreaming.
That was the first time I went completely lucid in a dream. I immediately tried flying which woke me up cause I flew so high up, looked down at the ground and I guess a mixture of excitement and fear of heights kicked in, elevated my heart rate and I woke up.
I continued to have lucid dreams regularly for like 2 weeks which got more and more uncanny, until the final one.
The last time I seriously did the dream journal thing, the final dream ended with a giant spider with a human face telling me to stop lucid dreaming or something will kill me in my sleep.
Might give it another shot some time soon though because it's such an interesting experience!

sweet comment. idk, I've had several lucid moments and one where I tried to turn around and look at myself, which is what I'd been rehearsing in my reality checks. Here's the deal, I saw my dream self playing baseball, caught that level of lucidity and then tried to see my sleeping self, but had no success. I believe I was attacked in my sleep twice after that in the following two weeks. Mostly, I just go into meditation and a prayer of gratitude when I catch it now.

I think everyone should start doing this. You'll not only remember your dreams more but also become more euphoric, creative and better at solving problems among other things. You get even more benefits if you practice lucid dreaming or dream incubation, some of which includes higher self awareness and practicing skills while asleep *(lucid dreaming is also a skill so it will take time to learn despite what some people will have you believe)*

I want to get back into it and would definitely watch more dream videos. Having like a checklist of challenges or goals to accomplish could be a cool idea to track progress. I got fairly good at it back when I did the dream journal and regular reality checks. Intentionally waking myself up in the middle of the night was not the strategy for me lol. I was fine with my occasional like 1-3 lucid dreams per week. Felt like I gained a much greater awareness of reality when I was awake too. Oh and also replaying my day in my head to retrace my steps helped.

That room orientation thing happens to me a lot when I'm falling asleep. It's kind of fun actually, I can almost do it intentionally. Basically as I'm lying there, I sometimes realize that I don't know how I'm oriented in my room, and in my head I can picture the room, but also the room in a mirrored state, and for a few seconds I can't actually recall which is the right one. It's a bit trippy, and sometimes I just have to open my eyes and check to reorient myself.

The freakiest thing about dreams to me is when it appears you've seen something for the first time in your dream, then see something almost exactly the same in real life afterwards. Like you described with the staircase. It was happened to me a couple of times but the dream and the real life experience happen so far apart that I end up somewhat convincing myself that my mind has tampered with the memory of my dream to match what I saw in real life.
But dream journaling, having a detailed description of things I see in dreams written down somewhere, might help clarify what's going on with that.

The biggest feelings and/or momenets in those universes are so intense that they leek into other dimensions and we can tune into them in sleep.

I’ve recorded some pretty crazy dreams. I used to write them down, but I found it much easier just to turn on my voice memo app and half asleep dump them into my phone. The funny thing is when you go back and listen to it later it’s hilarious because 65% of the things you recorded you don’t remember. That’s the most efficient way in my experience. I also had the same experience with every minute after you wake up and come back into consciousness you forget most of the dream, if not all of it.

the only time i wrote my dream down i was in a relationship and she was ignoring me, we were long distance at that point, so basically i met her at this one month project in morocco for teens, and the dream was we were all in the same house (a house that i remember the layout of very well, and the layout actually made sense too which is weird) and it had a second story, i would wake up, cry in my room, eat, then since i knew she wouldnt be studying at around 7pm i would just wait until then and go up the stairs to knock at her door, she would be talking to her friends and the other people in the house and then would either say she was busy, ignore, or bully me, then i would go back down and cry.
it was really weird, that time was bad. craziest part is every detail from her being free at 7 to her living in the attic and ignoring me were accurate to real life.

I've done this on and off for years but can never keep it a habit. I also don't always remember enough of the dream to write anything. Many dreams, however, I've never forgotten. Skipping through all of them to a pertinent dream this video reminded me of. I dreamt once of my house I'd move into 3 years later. Nothing peculiar about the dream other than me doing laundry on a stacked washer and drier, among other chores in this house that clearly felt like my house, only upon waking, I didn't recognize the place. I was in Illinois when I had this dream, then moved to Michigan, then to a different location in Illinois. It was there, maybe a year or so living there that I was doing laundry in that same washer/drier when I realized this was the place! Three years ago, I dreamed that - me mindlessly doing laundry in a future home. I quickly remembered the rest of the home from that dream, which I had forgotten until then. It was identical.
Not that all dreams convey the past or future. One of my dreams after getting married was my wife being pregnant with our first son, but we lived in a District 13 style underground bunker (post-apocalypse). We had a fight in the cafeteria, where everyone in this community ate, and we decided to go back to our room different ways - I'd take the normal way, while my wife took the secret way through all the pipes and narrow secret passages. It was as I was walking away and my wife (super pregnant) was climbing a 3-story structure in the cafeteria that I realized she's not actually physically able to make that climb. Except for she did! She literally climbed a large pole all the way up only to "revert" back to how she should be once I realized she was doing something impossible. I got so scared and didn't know what to do. She screamed and slipped. I thought for a second that I need to catch her, but I quickly saw her accelerating down to the ground and instead I instinctively backed away. Needless to say, she splattered - it was awful - and I screamed while running towards a big cliff edge and jumped to death without hesitation. I've had 4 children since then, none of them died, and no post-apocalyptic shelter.
It's crazy how some dreams seem so real, and yet are complete bat shit. Then there are dreams that seem real and eventually happen. It seems like epic dreams are always fake, but boring dreams or stressful dreams could possibly occasionally be real. But how it works, you got to focus!

I've been on antidepressants for a few years and they've given me some really weird dreams so those ones I usually write down. The other week I dreamt I was being chased by a jaguar and hid on top of a refrigerator. I live in Sweden and I'm pretty sure I've never even seen a jaguar at a zoo. The other day I dreamt I was still in middle school and the teachers were gossiping about me being poor. First few years the dreams generally made me laugh but it's gotten so frequent that it almost feels like each night I'm just thrown into alternate realities and forced to process what's going on all throughout, like my brain isn't resting at all. I'm in the process of quitting my antidepressants, largely because of the dreams.

I don’t really have that good of advice on how to soften dreams. Some periods it tends to be worse, some tends to be better for me, regardless of the circumstances in my life. A trick I found though was if you sleep about 5-6 hours, and get weary during the day, the dreams occur less, and it’s more so a restoration sleep without the dreams. Besides that, you can try to think less about the dreams, and if you become conscious while dreaming, don’t confront any dream characters, just play along, and try to ignore the “drama” of the dream. It won’t always work, but it’ll make it less intense, and less memorable when you wake up, so you can carry the day on with ambition, and not have the dream set you back mentally.

I really don't try to remember my dreams but I remember this one where I fell asleep and then woke up in my bed but in the dream, and in the dream I walked from my bed to the bathroom, looked at myself in the mirror and a demon appeared, getting sucked out of my face, and when it got out of my body there was this invisible force flying down the hallway and it also stole my shirt, so this shirt was just flying down the hallway. really weird

I've always have been able to remember most of my dreams without journaling. Most of my dreams is me with superpowers, school related, a certain type ifykyk, or just terrifying.

Please try Lucid dreaming. Especially now that you've written down for so long you should be able to become conscious of the dream knowing that you are dreaming. Not sure how exactly but like look down at your hands like some sort of associated trigger or tell yourself your dreaming. Once you do it you can choose what happens in your dream.

I've had very few times where I was conscience and knew I was dreaming and trying to wake myself up. Or trying to escape a dream and wake up. Even wake up from a dream to still be in a dream. Nightmares mostly occurring in very warm and hot times , like in the summer. Scary stuff.

I don't care about dreams, IMO dreams are meaningless, except when they feel different. I can't explain, but when dreams start from another dream and feel different, in my case they have been always profetic.
These types of dreams are short and are unforgettable.

I had a dream once that was true. I was in middle school at the time and had a dream about an acquaintance I had in a class. We were sort of friends, but not really. She lived on the other far end of my neighborhood but I had never been in her house before. My dream was that a bunch of us gals got together for a slumber party at her house and I saw what her house looked like inside. The next day at school I told this gal about my dream and the details I saw about her house….things like, the color of the carpet, what kind of couches they had, a piano in the corner, and a big screen tv (this is back in the early 90’s and a big deal if someone had one of those), and that their family room once used to be their garage. She totally flipped out because all the details were spot on. Her freaking out made me freak out. A couple months later, she did invite me and a couple other gals for a real sleepover. What I saw in my dream was not quite like her house in reality even though the details were right. The arrangement was all different. Anyway, super strange experience.

I have dreams that are so real I can smell taste touch and feel everything. And I wake up completely disoriented. Some of them haunt me throughout the day or week. Many I forget with my first cup of coffee. Dreams are crazy. I have the stressful looking for a pair of pants or shoes trying to get ready to leave the house dreams, also. If seems like a whole day will pass by... Just trying to find a pair of pants. Sometimes those dreams that are symbolic... Like a symbolic life lesson type dream. I want to know why I have the dream, then I will talk to my best friend later in the day that has a specific life issue. And the dream is exactly the thing she needs to hear. It's like I had a dream to guide someone on their journey through whatever they are going through. And I wont know why I have it or why I still remember this dream until later in the day until someone has an issue the dream solves.

Has anyone had prophetic dreams that came true? I've had several, all centered around my football team. Usually, I've dreamt the emotions I go through during the game.
I still regret not mortgaging my house to put money on Clemson winning the Natty in 2018. I knew it was coming and wouldn't be close, but all I did was book my trip to the game way ahead of time. Shoulda bet the house.

Bro Knight i got you covered..
the old friend you were talking about..
Consciousness is grander than we can cope ..
You started a "Dream" Journey on the first day, you had a "Briefing" what it is about.
the old friend from your dream that you tried to record sth with..
the camera comes in also as your last dream with the same emotion assoziated .
    Frustration
That usually comes when youre about to have a break through
do you have a friend that you maybe had a difficult relationship regarding what to eat or how to train... sth like that?
and you both just couldn t see eye to eye?
You were focused on the camera in both of the dreams and the frustration came from being unable to use it.
the camera most likley stands for your "conciousness" 'the lenses you use to view the world with'
you brought up the pond dream next (your conciousness KNOWS)
the pond is a body of water.. that usually represents emotions
in this case it may also be some type of "shared" field (like Electromagnetic field [Morphogenetic fields]) in basic term.. an electro magnetic connection "pool" to people
    the water will clear ..
the pond appears to be exchangeable with the phone.
like you can call people without using the phone..
your soul can speak to anothers soul
upon awakening you discribe utter confusion about the circumstances of your "normal" suroundings.
that may be an indication of how intensivley you "called" sb through the pond
like you maybe were completlely drawn "into" the others perception.
with the numbers on your phone (like code) you mentioned gaining a golden"scratch" lottery ticket.
sometimes you need to purify yourself on a soul level .. that can mean letting sb go "scratching" sb from your phone.. you use the term "old friend" at least 2 times.
the secound time the camera does not work is on your birthday with your parents.
    prior to that.. (Birthday Dream)
you have a really profound story unfolding..
    Stairs (that are disconnected)
    BackRoom
    Backroom
Strange Hotel: you discribe one particular big building that had a Tunnel (A hotel with a tunnel can be a refference to your Birth/Mother)
and then.. my personal Favorite "Some kind of a grand hall talking to some dude"
    That sounds freaking profound dude!
the grand Hall.. the body.. the buildings
the brain only ever processes about 20% of the info we take in every moment..
but we "see" more.. the "Subconsciousness" keeps all the information.
a big part of that Subconscious is the body itself.
    cellular memory / body consciousness
    that awsome grand hall man
and you end with your parents house
the secound dream you had.. was a "Feel Good" Dream
your conciousness gave you the entrie information necessary within the first 2 dreams.
do what you love, say things as you mean it and trust that even if you scrape something/one off and it feels like you lost.. you may only lost the fog in the pond.
when you mentioned the baby i instantly started crying.. ( i feel i need to mention here that i am a hot lesbian who does not necessarily want children, not a gay bro) greets to your hot wife btw ;D
the baby stands for a lot of things maybe..
i feel like that is yours to figure out
in any case it was a precusor for a very productive good time where you also tried new things.. then you described how that feeling kinda faded away..
    stay true to yourself.
    that makes life effortless.
