- Hello, my name is Paul and I am a full time nomadic fisherman. I started my journey in Oregon and I’m on a mission to travel the country and explore fishing in every state. That means that I am always the new guy and never know where the hot spots are. In each episode I am in a new location, sometimes learning new tricks from locals. Come along with me as I fish from my kayak or off shore for familiar fish and species that I have never caught before. In this raw chicken bait challenge, I find out what scent catfish prefer when given the choice between anise and garlic. I am using two poles side by side and rigged the same for one hour to get the answer. Watch and find out which one is the winner!

Cool challenge my idea is like to see you try Kool aid chicken cherry and raw chicken soaked in beer overnight
Not waiting beer on a fish bait. LOL
The best fishing bait you can ever use is chicken nuggets. Weird right. I caught catfish all day on chicken nuggets in Wisconsin and minesota. Snook , catfish, mullet. And even a shark on chicken nuggets in florida. I will never use anything else
I always squirt a little anise flavoured fish attractant on my cutbait when I go catfishing. Chicken doesn't catch anything but bullhead around my area.
I squirt some anise on my corn when I go fishing ahead of time so it soaks into the corn
Cool idea but you should try it on flat heads, blues, and channels… no one wants to catch hard heads
Catfish like those are not venomous.
