3rd Decibel yes! Machine Head specifically, is over the top! I feel like every metal head loves them. regardless of what type of metal your into. all metal heads can agree on Machine Head. it's hard to classify what sub genre they are specifically. doesn't really matter. just saying, they are all over the place with different sub genre sounds mixed in. HAIL FUCKING MACHINE HEAD!
I went to see them and the crowd was full of old skool metalers, bikers, young emo kids, punks, normals... then the music started and everyone was just a sweaty mess. My ears rang for days after. So loud and so amazing.
Weird story: I am a Machine Head fan since 1994 but, I don't know why, I pased this album of no course all the time. Now, 7 month ago and 2 years after our son died just 6h & 11min after his birth I felt in such a deep hole with depressions and panic attacks. Then there was a situation where I stood in my workshop and this song was playing. Suddenly one of the biggest panic attacks overcame me and I started walking fast in circles and screamed every damn word of this song although I've never listened to it bevore... After that there was beautiful silence all around me and my heartbeat calmed down. It felt like our son send this song to me in this situation and it really saved my life this day!
@@371min Thank God not me. Faith is the Key. Matthew 14:29. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” 31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” 32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.” May God bless you and be present in your life amen!
When I lose the spark of life, I will quietly draw my last breath with this song playing. This song is the most precious song on earth, but it is also the saddest and most eternal requiem.
Everytime I go on stage to play in front of a crowd, I listen to this song. This is my prep song before going on stage because no matter what you what you do, you just play your heart out. The depth of the lyrics and the solo gives so much energy to give my best.
It's sad. This song is a masterpiece, one of the best songs I've ever heard, it's a hymn. But it is not so popular. If this song was written by Metallica or Iron Maiden (they are great, don't get me wrong), it will be worldwide acclaimed, a legendary metal hymn... it's sad, Machine Head is great and should be more popular...
Well Machine head is one of the more popular Metal Bands around. I mean there are plenty of amazing Metal songs that have less then 500,000 views and this song has over two million views. But I'd say Machine head is in my top 20 favorite bands and this is one of my favorite songs by them so I do think they deserve a little more credit.
Matheus Navarro Machine Head is one of the greatest metal band of all time and they still don't get the credit they should deserve after creating such album like Unto The Locust, The Blackening, Through The Ashes Of Empires, Burn My Eyes.
+Sourav Biswas What is great with this band is that I can feel their songs, unlike a lot of bands, there is a kind of power, of energy from their songs. When I'm listening to their songs, I'm feeling like someone else.
+Matheus Navarro they are deffo popular mate - it's just that (and I say this as a massive Maiden fan) Maiden, 'Tallica and co have been around for almost double the years, that said Machine Head are ALWAYS progressing which (much as I love them) Maiden don't change much, if you listen to three Maiden albums (Powerslave, Killers and Somewhere in Time) you'll then know how the majority of their songs sounds.

I identify with This song. "We build Cathedrals to our pain, establish monuments to obtain freedom from all the scars and the sins, lest we drown in the darkness within. " Very profound lyrics, indeed.
This song helped me through a dark time in my life a couple of years ago. listening to it now makes the hairs on my arms stand on end and it makes me tear up because I remember how much this song made me feel better. Machine Fucking Head
I always put this song on, whenever I feel down an worn out. It's pure therapy. As others write it's a fucking masterpiece. So relatable for many of us metalheads. Very undervalued in the Metal canon imo.

Yeah this is more than just a song !!! I gave everything i got and this song i closed in my heart sometimes crying alone but give up NEVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The guitar solo to this song actually brings me to tears. The hit it at just the perfect moment with such a fantastic build up and just pour it all into that solo. Amazing. I truly have to say not only is this one of my favorite songs of this genre, it is one of my favorites out of every genre! In my top 5 favorite songs ever made. Masterpiece!
Just can't get over those lyrics... the solo compliments them perfectly, brings out the emotions. Can't call it anything else but a true masterpiece. I don't care what sub-genre these guys fall in, they know how to touch your emotions
I've listened to a lot of metal in my life. A ton. This song is the perfect definition of what Heavy Metal is. This should have been a Grammy winning song, but wasn't "popular enough". Brilliant in every sense. In my opinion, Machine Head's greatest song.

I always return to this one, whenever I'm feeling down. These lyrics, ring so true to my ears, and having this tune to remind me how I can always find comfort in music is very reassuring.
Driving home last night around midnight I am smoking a fatty and this song came on the radio ( Sirius XM) just as I hit the freeway ramp ... pedal down volume up ... I made it half way to Bowling Green, Ky. before the song ended :-)

This is absolute gold. A tragic metal opera song and a hymn for those who dwell in the darkness struggling to keep the light inside their spirits.
And our music brings them out into the light.
The lines "I strive in vain to please the Lord, but He has never answered me" get me every time cuts deep

Here in this darkness that I lay
Depression heavy in its weigh
And how my body aches to leave
To sing its final eulogy
My sons I love you evermore
And though the road beckons once more
I see the damage that I've done
In search for redemption
But I am just a broken man
Whose soul cries out to understand
How the madness shatters me
Upon the stage on bended knee
I scream out loud at skies above
That answer mute bereft in love
I struggle not to fall from grace
Or sing the hymns of my disgrace
We build cathedrals to our pain
Establish monuments to attain
Freedom from all of the scars and the sins
Lest we drown in the darkness within
Mystery's forgotten chords
I strum in vain to please the lord
But he has never answered me
My faith has waned eternally
In empty men who pass along
The woes of all religions wrong
But now the Shadowed veil it falls
Heed the Clarion call
So pray to music build a shrine
Worship in these desperate times
Fill your heart with every note
Cherish it and cast afloat
'Cause god is in these clef and tone
Salvation is found alone
Haunted by its melody
Music it will set you free
Let it set you free
We build cathedrals to our pain
Establish monuments to attain
Freedom from all of the scars and the sins
Lest we drown in the darkness within
Music my saviour (Save me)
We build cathedrals to our pain
Establish monuments to attain
Freedom from all of the scars and the sins
Lest we drown in the darkness within
