Hey Scott! If you're ever around, let me know. Would love to buy you a beer or something. It's not often that we see, as Guatemalans, foreigners with such a tangible love for our country.
You got to try zone 4, visit quo and 4 grados norte, hipster zone of guate city. Try the spindle top restaurant vista 15 in zone 15, beautiful sight to zone 15 and volcanoes
@ScottAlanMillerVlog After visiting CDMX I learned to appreciate a lot of things about Guate. Once we fix the traffic and the safety it's gonna be ideal haha
First time checking your channel and I'm already liking it. 😊 But of course, if you talk so nicely about my hometown, I'm gonna like your content. Welcome anytime! 🤗
I've tried and tried and they cancel every time. I've never gotten Uber to come to the airport for a pickup, only a drop off. IF you are too close to teh airport, I've had a 100% cancellation rate.
Unfortunately you didn't show how to take the public bus to the city from airport. Sure, Uber can go anywhere. I took bus #84 near the rotunda, it goes near to El Trébol .Then take Metro Bus 12 línea, ends in Plaza Barrio in the centro.
I've heard it, but I also know it isn't true. LOL. That's American fear mongering. Which is super weird because even if it were true, it's meaningless. Who would care? Absolutely no one. Affects nothing in reality. But it isn't happening, at all. Totally made up fake news. But I've been asked to do a video explaining what ACTUALLY is changing, and it'll blow your mind how utterly trivial it all is, lol. Like... local currency MUST be written using the prober symbol and not using symbol of the wrong currency to fool people. Simple stuff like that.
Hi there, welcome my humble beautiful city, just to let you know that we as Guatemalan, never ever, will call Chiken Buses, the ones that call them that way is American people or tourist that have been told it , instead those are called in well Guatemalan spanish, Tomateras, Parrilleras, de parilla, or the best one is Burra, other ones call them extaurbanas well said, so just to clarify the origin of those bus nicknames
They are called chicken buses in Nicaragua, even locally :) We only call them that because it's what Nicaragua teaches us. We have no other word for them that is widely used down here. But good to know that Guatemala has different names for them. Between cities in Nicaragua, we have chicken buses and inter locales. Chicken buses are being replaced right now, inter locales are smaller and faster.
Hey dude, I am from Guatemala Born in the department of Santa Rosa. But boy Guatemala is growing too fast, and the government doesn't care about the big collapse of traffic government only care how much money they can put in their packet in my beautiful Guatemala we need Roads bridges and more under pass so we can not spend hours trying to get from point A to point B and I mean in Pic hours 5 kilometers can take up to one hour. I don't know what date and what time you were filming because the streets look easy to navigate.
I know you probably just showed the nice and fancy spots however Nicaragua has to look at how nice their neighbouring Country is going and pull their heads inn, beginning with that rubbish they throw everywhere😅
Makes me look forward to visiting there someday soon.
I loved Guatemala. Hidden gem.
Guatemala City and the Republic of Guatemala are underrated!
Salu2!

I'm in Guate from time to time and it looks like I'll be there a lot more soon. Shoot me an email!
Beautiful city! I agree with you. I enjoy your content. 😁🏙️

Guatemala city nace video .👍
I did get an Uber in the airport last year. But it was pretty hectic. I would definitely walk outside of the airport to grab one next time.
Thanks for showing my native city some love. Favourite city in the world seems like a bit of a stretch but I appreciate it nonetheless hahaha
My top three cities are Guate > Roma > Madrid. My CEO who used to live in CDMX and now lives in Buenos Aires agrees. Best city ever.

Thanks for visiting Guatemala! Are you American?
🇺🇲🇬🇹
American passport holder. I live in Nicaragua.
Lived there for a few years. Your favorite city?
This is why we have to agree to disagree on everything!
😂

When Uber isn't available I just walk it, it's so close.
Did you hear Ortega announced no dollars. What does that mean.

It was actually around rush hour a day or two before the video posted. So maybe two weeks ago.

The Palace is not high end at all
Well compared to the US at least. Never been to a diner fancy like that in America, ever.
