Crikey. What a line to ride. Brilliant having the Captain on again. Hope your bail out wasn’t too painful and you won’t be off the bike for long. Luv the way you lot still have that youthful eagerness to “go for it”. Take some time to get those “I’ll edit that out” and “Yeah boy” tee shirts made.
Aw mate u seemed to cope great with that and handled it in a very positive way! I think I would have had to bleep out a whole lot of expletives but u handled it like a pro!
Huge respect from me!! Those gap jumps and especially wooden structures elevated like that just scare the bejeebers out of me. Doubles or tabletops ok, though give me steep technical any day of the week!
I watching the Captain explaining it and I'm thinking "If you get one wrong you had better lay it down" I give you a 9.5 for the dismount over that jump. Glad you bounce well
You bounce like a man half your age Lance! Or maybe a quarter 🤣either way we are all glad you survived!and like the good captain said at least ya got it on tape 🤣🤣🤣
Gave it another crack the following week. I personally don't believe in getting straight back on the horse. I have seen people crash. Their confidence is shaken but they man up and go again only to injury themselves really badly.
Jeeeeez, now I know why I don't jump. Am sure the local hospital will see many visits from riders with an over estimation of skill level from those new jumps. LOL. Two chain offs in short succession, might be you need to have a closer look at your chain ring?
What the hey! That was pretty gnarly bro! Glad you didn't do any serious injuries to yourself. Think I'll stay well clear of Avi8er. Think I'll put more glue in my tires and stay well stuck to the ground 😂
That looks like a lot of fun Lance, was looking smooth till the chain slipped :( Good thing you had your pads because that looks like a fairly high fall. First and foremost, the bikes okay ?🚴♂
@@bestdayevermtb2 That's good to hear, my bike turned up at Evo Cycles, just getting a few extras added on so hopefully hitting the tracks before Christmas.
Hey lance just wondering what camera gear you use to get your non pov shots. I’m looking to become a mtb TH-camr myself and your angles look great. Do you use a tripod and how portable is the one you got?
I use a Sony zv1 and go pros. I have a small bendy leg tripod for the Sony and go pros on poles. I make my own stakes to drive into the ground then stick a go pro pole on top. They all need to be small so I can ride with it all on my back.
Glad to hear you’re ok Lance! I’m sorry to say but I think this tendency will hurt the sport long term and many young lads along the way. Someone has to draw a line somewhere and limit the size of these gap jumps… Make the jump as big as you want but put a tabletop so riders don’t kill themselves… Anyway my two cents. Just glad you and your bike are ok! 😉
I understand what you are saying. Once upon a time doing a jump was seen as extreme. Now a back flip is not even considered a trick that scores points in events. I do worry about young people ending up paralysed from trying more extreme tricks and jumps.
Wow those are big jumps, it takes los cajones grandes I think. That would have been me off the end, chain wouldn't need to fall off, I would just be there.
I've never had a chain come off, what's wrong with your KTM? As someone who's 10years younger than you, don't do jumps. It's just not worth the risk. The safest trails I do are the steep techy ones as I'm going so slow when I crash 😅
The front chain ring has worn out. No issues since replacing it. I stopped jumping for years and did more tech as crashes were at slow speeds. Since I got the ebike I have got back into jumping again.
Bummer. You would have made the whole line no problems if not for t hat dam chain. Might pay to take up Ju Jitsu and learn how to fall properly without putting those wrists and other body parts at risk.
I actually looked at the fall frame by frame and yes I did put my hands forward but didn't put my hand down flat but rather sideways then rolled. Didn't hurt my wrists. I did badly break my wrist once so try to avoid landing on it. It is funny though because I always crash on my right side no matter what happens.
@@bestdayevermtb2 Ha- sounds like you've got some of that Jui Jitsu fall technique sorted then. Trick is to use the side of your hand and arm to roll your body on to your side/back and break your fall. A bit like a round parachute landing except starting with your hands rather than your feet. When I fall I'm like a cat except in the inverse. I always seem to instinctively turn to land on my back... which is not always a good thing [edit] Thinking about it, that's probably some of that Jui Jitsu muscle memory coming in to play, where the aim is to turn to land on your back.
I did get back on the horse but the following week. You will have to wait for that one. I didn't continue for two reasons. One my ankle was really sore and didn't want to do the drop until I had a new chain ring. Wouldn't want to do the same thing twice. I am crazy but not stupid.😄
Glad you’re ok mate .lucky 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Brilliant senditure Lads 🎉

Cheers. Felt more like a Muppet than a pro.😁
You're a legend. Glad you weren't broken!!
Good to see your ok mate
Great reflexes mate, landed without injury and had the sense to back off when you heard something going wrong, still winning in my book!
Thanks. You have to make a split second decision. If the rear wheel locked up and I didn't have the speed it would have been worse.
Glad (and amazed!) you didn't get hurt. Those jumps even look big in the video, so they must be big!
Big effort mate. That trail scares the crap out of me just looking at it as I ride past. Glad you rolled out ok.
Scares me to. But I can't help myself.
@@bestdayevermtb2 I admit I suffer from the same crazy

Watch next week. We did a better attempt.
Wow Lance, I’m glad your ok. Those new features look epic.
Pretty amazing what they have done at Woodhill. Almost worth driving up from Rotorua to ride there.
@@bestdayevermtb2 most definitely 👍 looking forward to some better weather to, it’s still humid and rainy here still😳.
Glad you walked away
Literally my worst fear 😮. Glad you walked away ok 👍
Yes a mechanical in the wrong place is not good
Nuts. Great to see you are ok but still nuts 😊
Not my fault. The captain made me do it.😁
Great riding! I'm glad you're OK! I'm an old dude learning to gap my e-bikes also...I just wish I could heal faster! Thanks for the videos!
We all wish that.😁

The secret is to have enough body fat for cushioning the impact. 😂
Spot on - this is nuts! I'll stick to the wheelies, much safer 😋. All power to you though.
Ooft. That could've been worse. Loving the commitment buddy. Unlucky. You've totally got these next time 👍
Watch next Saturday. We give it another crack.
@@bestdayevermtb2 I'll be sure to tune in 🙌 I wish we had something like this in Scotland 👍
Other than chain failure, the motor cutting out abruptly when you need a few extra cranks to clear a gap is my worst fear. Glad you seem ok.
That is a bit of an ebike issue. You go to pedal for a jump and find you are over 32km/hr.
@@bestdayevermtb2 Try riding in Australia with 25kph limit. Had no choice but to derestrict my Levo.
Och Scary 😱 Man! Good you OK 🤠

If it is not filmed it never happened.
Look at that lovely sunny day! Hope we can get some more of the Sun before the summer is over.
Don't get me started on the rain. Have lots of film ideas but want some fine weather.
that was scary Lance ! glad you are ok
Thanks. I actually thought I could stop on the ramp but was clearly mistaken. I am 100% all good.
Just found your channel. You guys are awesome!
Glad to have you on the team. I hope you have watched the next video where I don't crash.
Holy shit Lance that was unlucky! You did well get out of that unscathed.
Very lucky really. Hobbled around for a few days but all good.
Even with the gopro effect this jump line looks insane. 😱🤪👍
They look worse in real life.
the place to play mountain bikes is really cool, bro👍
Whoa.... they don't make them like that, in Bike Parks in Canada! Glad to see you are ok and smart enough to take a break. Good try though!

That looked like a sore one. Glad you’re ok
Did hobble out of there but was good in a few days.
Six foot five 😂 ! Brilliant.Do I see a wee pot belly on the hobbit 🎉🤣

I would like to but it just looks too much fun.
Man that could of been alot worse. Some of those jumps look long on the video let alone in person. Can't wait for next vid.
Next week's video is a bit more successful.
It’s going to be a good jump line to watch Dads army progress on . How far has Graham gone down it?
You will have to wait till next Saturday
