When ever I'm a button short on a button down shirt I use a completely different one at the collar. For your shirt perhaps a decorative button would look good at the collar with plain buttons on the rest of the shirt😊

Thank you so much! Yes I think the Dovestone dress could be constructed with buttons down the front, it has a centre front seam already so a good start. It might take a bit of considering the best way to do it but I think it could definitely work.
