The thing about the hybrid build with the Riftmaker and Liandry’s is that it is so much more consistent and late game oriented. Mid game your damage is ass but you’re so tanky you can int for stacks. Once you hit 225 and 3 core your burn fucking hurts and you are duoubling up on that with liandry’s as well, you get omnivamp on your burns and aoe, you can now go with cheap tank items and basically be unkillable while your ult and W do ridiculous aoe damage and given the way the ability damage ramp scales with your burn you effectively have a ~25% health execute on champions it’s insane. So despite building no crit and very little AD this is actually his best scaling build because you become unkillable late game and your damage sky rockets as soon as you hit 225, that’s when the build synergy really comes together. Worth noting that even though your mid to late transition feels weaker, smolder is really good at stalling games and still impacting fights with aoe damage so it’s not all that bad and the more stacks you get the sooner you become god mode 1v9 machine. I also prefer taking Manaflow band and transcendence later secondary page, fixes mana and CDR issues.
Your teammates on that third game were so toxic. U literally carried them so hard and they still blame everything on you. Great to see that it didn't bother you that much.
What does everyone think about Smolder as a solo queue carry? With his stacks guaranteeing good damage with proper stacking. That being said what’s the average time you should be hitting that 225 stacks mark? If it’s faster than the large power spikes on normal adc’s but not one shot power we normally see
That vi was so annoying. She feeds 2 kills to your aatroxes laner. Gives her first tower and then blames him for losing in a counter matchup thay she made impossible. Junglers smdh
Getting a new Smolder video will be one of my biggest priorities when I get back home. Who knows, maybe it won't take an average of 5 dodges to get a video now that his banrate isn't so high!
@@VaporaDark I'm glad because I really love smolder but right now he feels really weak as with the FF culture in norms and his weaker then normal early game since the nerfs hit I just can't get him to max stacks before the game ends usually it is 20-25 minutes smolder gets his stacks by about 30 on average
I don't currently plan to. I may eventually do an indepedant 4 hour video on him, but aside from this Smolder one I'd like to focus on completing existing series before starting any new ones.
He will definitely get nerfed I think, his lane phase wasn't intended to be as good as it is with the 3 W points + Doran's Ring start, currently he scales far too well while his laning is far too good.

I think you may as well skip Doran's Ring if you're going to be rushing Essence Reaver anyway and just use Doran's Blade instead. But all other builds, I agree that Doran's Ring is probably still best. It got nerfed slightly (DBlade has basically the same winrate now), but the other buffs Smolder got ensures that it's still just as strong as before, just not as stronger than Doran's Blade as it was before.
I am currently a silver 2 Xayah main, and I really struggle into smolder. I feel like I should be able to win early but between his W and support damage, I am never afforded the right to match him.
I doubt Xayah's any good into Smolder, at least not with a strong lockdown support. His W spam greatly outranges her and he's too slippery with his E to get caught by her root.

Smolder looks great for solo queue! Farm and poke don't need to rely on your support as much to scale.

Crit is probably better into tankier comps, tank builds better into squishies.
Any change of build now that smolder W got nerfed early? I find it's still better to go ring for the mana sustain.
