It wasn't croatian referee that got player sent off three times. It was actually english referee Graham Pool that showed yellow card three times to croatian player Josip Simunic, thus sending him off after his third yellow.
I dont get it, the opponents didn’t count as well? like I would lose it if the opponent gets a second yellow and is not sent off and it happened in 2006 not in the 50s

That’s a non-exhaustive list. Clough sprung to mind immediately so I looked up all of the ones to win the First Division after him too.
