We've stuck with her because she's an awesome talent. We know talent when we see it. She's got the good 360.

Dramatic is my favorite song on it. It's a good album. Produced well.

It's not on your radar the possibility folks may not snap recognize how good it is?

This might sound weird to you but I’ve been watching your content for years and never knew you were gay until now. I thought you were a strong ally of our community all along.

haha, i've heard that several times, and its not something I hide. When it naturally comes up, I'm happy to acknowledge it, but i've made it a point in my career that I want to be able to speak on ANY issue.
(This is going to seem like I'm personally giving you some longwinded lecture that you didnt ask for or I'm defending myself against you. Not at all. I'm just using your comment as a springboard to provide some insight to others that might read this as well.)
My general approach is I don't think I have to qualify myself as a gay man, in order to speak out against homophobia. By identifying myself as gay before defending gay people, it fuels the philosophy that one is only "allowed" to defend gay people if they are gay. I don't agree with that. I expect myself to be well-versed enough that I can be a "strong ally" to anyone, even if I'm not part of that "group". It annoys me when on-camera personalities will preface their opposition to something with "as a father" or "as a guy who has sisters" when speaking out against sexism, for example. I don't have to be a father or have sisters to know that misogyny is wrong. A "human" with strong values and morals know it's wrong. While I'm not saying I want to speak FOR others, I expect from myself that I can be empathetic enough, and understand the perspective of another well enough that I can "speak on it" and be a strong ally for anyone. :)
So that's why I don't make a point of saying "I'm gay" when talking about LGBTQIA+ issues. :) I don't think it matters.

@@GraemeONeil You’re so right. I agree with everything you wrote. We don’t need to identify first as a member of a specific community to expose wrong or highlight right. I always knew I loved your content but now I love you even more. And please don’t take this as empty flattery or some kind of flirtatious talk, but I genuinely appreciate you. I’ve seen you defend Black people, women, Asians or anyone else and I always thought it was brave. Always respectful too. You may be an attractive guy but your heart makes you that much hotter. Thank you for being you, and please stay awesome. We need more people like you!!! 🥲

I’m coming out is always and forever the gay anthem of our lives and I’m a 50 years old gay black man

It is absolutely a gay anthem. I mentioned it because it is. And it's just not personally something I listen to.
