Gilbert Gottfried's passing is such a stab in my heart. Aladdin is one of my favorite Disney movies and Gilbert Gottfried had a lot to do with that, because of his work as Iago the Parrot. He was also a legend here, voicing Dr. Bender and his son, Wendell. I'm going to miss that distinctive voice of his! R.I.P, Gilbert and thanks for the memories!

Wendell acts almost exactly like his father. If kids are scared of Dr. Bender what makes Wendell think kids don't like him either? His teeth may be perfect but his behavior is rotten.
dr. bender had an effect on me that no other fop antagonist did as a child. there was something so eerily creepy about him that set him apart from villains like vicky, remy, the anti-fairies etc. i remember feeling genuinely terrified whenever he was on-screen, lmao. the way they characterized him is what really made him stand out to me. gilbert gottfried did an impeccable job at capturing his psychotic, spine-chilling personality and it's a shame that such a talented man had to leave us so soon. i hope he rests in peace. ❤️

No one did a better Iago than Gilbert himself. The one who voiced Iago in the live action of Aladdin was no where near as good as Gilbert. He’ll be sadly missed. 😢
What? They actually tried to do a different version of Iago with a different voice actor in the remake? I can understand the Genie being replaced since Robin Williams was tragically no longer with us when the remake came out, but, with all due respect to the actor that had the herculean task of trying to come even close to Gilbert Gottfried's Iago, I am never watching the remake to avoid tainting my fond memories of the original Iago. I must respect Gottfried's voice acting legacy as much as he seemed to respect the art of animation!

I just found out from a TH-cam video today, poor Gilbert Gottfried, he's always my favorite when watching CyberChase with him voicing Digit and it's still my favorite PBS Kids show today in adulthood, well as my mom would say "at least he's not in pain anymore" R.I.P.

RIP Gilbert Gottfried. I am finding out about so many amazing animated characters he did the voices of, but I unfortunately took for granted when I was a TV-obsessed child and he was still alive. I think one of my favorite of his more-underrated roles was playing Santa in a Billy and Mandy Christmas special in the mid-2000s. I've got to find clips from that classic.

You can barely notice it, but Gottfried gave Wendell a slightly higher voice compared to Dr. Bender. Mad respect for that little detail.
