As always, great video. Those transfer 50-50s looked so good. I’d love to see you try some Slappy or Indy trucks for more carvy turns in the bowl. I used to skate Thunders and once I tried Slappy, I’ll never go back! Great progress!
Oh, you're a bad influence-now I gotta try out the slappy trucks 😂 For real though, thanks for the recommendation! I'll definitely get some soon. Always love the feedback and recommendations. Glad your digging the video, appreciate you!
Thanks!! Been trying to hit different little things in the park just to keep the board feel progressing. I totally couldn't get anything on a pyramid when I was a teen, so I was hyped to start kinda figuring it out. Don't go too high or too low when you ollie on it, otherwise, you'll end up like the thumbnail 😂. Try and go for the middle area of it.
Absolutely awesome sesh and vid. I’m going to take some manny advice and I recon I rely on the back foot but what you explained about controlling with the front foot makes sense. Love the 50 grinds and that cheeky little sex change/ body variable thrown in caught me by surprise. I enjoy them on the miniramp 👊🏻
Such a strange concept to think about, but that front foot (or back for nose manuals) helps so much with balancing them out. Hoping the sex change/body varial leads to another trick way down the road. It's called a crail grab body varial-its an air nose grab with the back hand, then body varial but with air. Need to get a little air in the ramp first 😂 My mind wanders in skateboarding sometimes 😂
Heyyy!!! Long time!! Been watching you progress to that 8'!!! And you've really made some serious progress on the 50-50s 🙌 You’ve come such a long way, your comfort level looks great-nice and fluid, bending in all the right places. Been working on trying out the different features in the park to sorta work on different aspects of "board feel." I was terrible at pyramids or anything "street" related when I was a teen, so I’m stoked to get some ollies and 180s going.
@ dude I’m sorry I disappeared there awhile. I don’t know what happened. I gotta come skate with you and fatdad someday. I assume you guys live close to each other?
No worries at all! Things get busy. We're pretty close, about 20ish minutes away, and there are parks within 10 to 30 minutes. But he might opt for your parks-they look so incredible out there! I think a meet up would be pretty solid one day!
What's up, bro! Glad you're digging the videos! The wheels I'm riding in this video are the Powell Peralta Dragon Formula Nano Rats 56mm x 39mm 93A. These are by far my absolute favorite wheels right now, highly recommend. The only other wheels I’ve found that come close are the Nano Cubic Dragon Formula 56mm x 37mm 93A (red lettering). These would be my second favorite. All the other wheels I’ve tried (listed below) are either too narrow, too hard, or just don’t coast well on different surfaces-cement, blacktop, asphalt, and crusty driveways. Hope this helps you out! Powell Peralta Nano Cubic Dragon Formula (blue lettering) 56mm x 37mm 97A - Too soft Powell Peralta Dragon Formula 58mm x 33mm 93A - Shape was too narrow, and the wheel rode hard BONES WHEELS Look Book X-Formula 55mm, 99A, V6 Wide-Cut - Didn’t work well on old asphalt and crusty ground Bones 100's #14 54mm V4 Wide - Way too hard for the terrain I ride
Stick with me, and we’ll hit peak mediocrity together! 😂 Love the mindset, man. Skating’s all about keeping the stoke alive and pushing until the wheels fall off! Keep shredding and never stop🙌
Sweet, man!!! Well, I hope you've got a board or are getting ready to get one. I definitely can't say it enough… it's well worth getting back into. I skated when I was a teen, got decent at it (highly debatable😂), then left it for the military. Fast forward many years, lots of injuries, and a few knee surgeries, I started back up about six months ago. I love every second of it and try to skate as often as I can. Take your time and have fun with it-zero pressure for us out here, and the only requirement is just to have fun again!
Can’t wait for the drop in tips. I’m working up to those
Hopefully up this week! Really hope it helps-want to see and hear more people trying out different things that might seem a little intimidating.
Ollies over the hip look so nice! Manuals over the deck were amazing too man
Appreciate it Scott!!! Getting over to finish watching your vid, got side tracked but that park looks sick!!!
Fakie 50/50 to rock and roll is insane dude!! So many awesome tricks keep on pushing man!! 🤙
That noping life 😂 doesn’t like to hold and watch you slam to the flat bottom
all skateboarding is hardcore. subscribed!
Appreciate you bro!!!!🙌 Welcome to the craziness!
Dude your transition skating is so good, makes me wanna go out and skate. Awesome vid! 👍🤘
Thanks appreciate it! Stoked that it’s getting you hyped to go out and skate! Hope you get a killer session next time you head out.🤘
Great session! Solid airs bro!🤙🤙
Thank you!!! Appreciate it 🙌Getting a bit higher here and there, when the knees allow😂

That pyramid bank is cool, I have some similar banks if I can get my ollies better I'll start using them. Great session. 🤙🏼

@ Thanks for the advice, I've been beating myself up at the park lately, I'll try to remember that. Those manuals out of the ramp were sick too.

@ amazing man! Thank you very much for the reply
Love it. Been skating 2 years at 48 and aiming to be as mediocre as you 😂
