  • In this emotional talk the renown international photographer Ron Haviv takes a look at how two iconic photographs of conflict shaped the course of history and inspired a quest for justice. Ron Haviv is an award-winning photojournalist, filmmaker dedicated to documenting conflict & raising awareness about human rights. His work in the Balkans was used as evidence to indict & convict war criminals at the international tribunal in The Hague. President George H.W. Bush cited Haviv’s photographs documenting paramilitary violence in Panama as one of the reasons for the 1989 American intervention. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

No photographer has contributed more to world justice than Ron Haviv. This is a riveting, monumental story by him.

Staggering to think of the ripple effect that an image can have. Thank you for this important work and sharing this perspective.
