Amen, what a true and liberating refreshing word Pastor David brings today. When we submit to God, our focus then is not on self or the peripheral outside - what is around us. We let God do the affect and effect of our being and atmosphere as He adjusts our attitude and perception to make sense of things. We don't let outside influences bother or distract us. When we do this, the influence and power wanes in light of Almighty God, and the Sword of the Spirit. If you are in the Word, then you learn how to defend (putting on the armor as a soldier) and to offend - yes offend, the Word is sharper than any 2-edged sword. That is putting runs up on the scoreboard. All thanks to giving glory to the Lord. He must increase, we must decrease.
The devil can also be likened to a shadow. He is dark, and in the light of things he tries to enlarge himself as a shadow, larger than life, causing us to doubt and fear. But what happens when BRIGHT light is turned on all about - poof - gone. Always trust in the Lord, and as He shines in us, and around us, you also shine, and like the nursery rhyme rain, rain go away, come back another day, he too must leave. Wha a good word from David today, for the devil's bark is much louder and bigger than his bite. Hope this helps someone out there reading and meditating on today's topic.
I've always been a follower of Christ and I always do my best to stand against the devil. That's why I stay away from evil people, evil movies, evil video games, everything that's evil I stay away from because it's related to the devil and the devil is trying to make us fail. That's why I choose God over the devil because God will save our lives forever. That's also why when I play video games or watch movies, I watch and play ones that are family friendly and enjoyable to watch and play (like Mario, Sonic, and Donkey Kong for video games and Disney and Nickelodeon movies for movies) instead of playing X rated games because x rated games are controlled by the devil and not by God. When I do my life, God wants me to be happy with my instead of be scared or be unhappy with it. That's exactly why I always choose Faith over Fear.
