I think with 3d printing, and the trx4m, scx10, and similar platforms, more can come about
2 offenhosser carbs, silver vents on side helps keep engine cooling and ventilation, small pump was the fuel pump to pressure the tank, they raced on dirt track (Indy track) fuel tank was in the back behind driver. Uncle is a T collector, Dad is a model A collector , I’m a 50-70’s collector. Very nice looking car. Seeing these cars in life is a real treat.
Good info but they are Riley carbs. Its also an OHC engine. Custom made model T frame called the "Skinny"

Good on Traxxas for creating something so unique. I don't know of another major rc company that's built something so far out of their general wheel house.

The price of this just goes to show how massive the Traxxas fanbase is. I’m not dunking on them, Traxxas is pretty cool, but prices like these are wild. If a lesser known brand like HPI or CEN did something as exclusive and hard to get as this, it wouldn’t be worth nearly as much.
That thing is awesome! If they do a normal release I am getting one! -- I think there should be a race class for that ... through-back racing! So cool.
She's a thing of beauty. Maybe other manufacturers will follow suit. Growing up in Indianapolis and visiting the museum at the motor speedway, i saw many of the real life versions of these, and they are gorgeous. Always wondered why there were not any RC versions.

It’s cool for sure , exclusive . I have the 1950 step van , which is just a body on a 4tec 3.0 chassis with custom wheels and tires . They started out at around $2000, I got mine for $600, a lot of money but we don’t get into this hobby for the R.O.I anyway. I hope to eventually pick this one up, once the excitement dies down , great video Mark 👍
You are ok . I paid a very high price. But I will enjoy it a lot. I want too a 1950 Van. I have three Traxxas 4tec I will try to get the body . The body is super ufff. New tyhe van does cost approx 600 dollars. I expect to get the body with 200 bucks or less..

I think Traxxas missed a huge detail by not having function leaf springs. They did what they could by including the rotary dampers, but the leafs would have been so cool.
Mark, great video. Not sure what your affiliation is with Traxxas but the company should put you on their payroll. The company is getting free marketing on their products and your videos reach a large enough target audience that it is worth their time to partner with you - if they already haven't ;). As far as the car is concerned...I wouldn't buy one but it certainly looks great. The scale features are what makes it attractive and it is a concept that is totally outside the company's box. No doubt the sprint will be mass produced since it is apparent Traxxas put a lot of time into engineering the concept. Anyway, just wanted to commend you for another quality video - you are one of very few folks on TH-cam where I will actually watch the content from start to finish. Keep up the great work!
I’d love to get one maybe Traxxas will make it for everyone and some special dirt oval racing like they did back in the 20’s. Even something along the beach. Happy RC’ing Y’all!!!!

Intake is on left side of car, the handle you called the brake is a manual fuel pump. I love these old race cars, if the release this car the aftermarket parts you could make to upgrade would be amazing. I see a whole new race class with this car, I am in if it gets released. Fingers crossed.
A spec class on a dirt oval would be awesome. Can't wait until they release it.

That thing is awesome! It's as if Traxxas is using Snap-On as a sounding board for new products...
That, and using them as a test bed for marketing and to further develop and refine them for regular sales!
Needs to come with a man in it with goggles and a leather skullcap. Very cool looking, love the wire wheels and those tires.
I see this being released to the masses….. all the plastic parts offered in aluminum as upgrades, different body colors and maybe a driver.
The chrome thing on the side by the seat is a pump to pressurize the fuel system
I won one in a Ebay bid 5 hours ago. I can't wait to have it on my hands. I know, it was very expensive. I know, the price will down to aprox 650 or less (like a Trx6) soon or very soon. I know, this spectacular car is NOT to heavy work. I must be very careful, avoid crashes, shocks or similar. I must use it in open spaces only. But anyway , I'm very very happy with my new car

Would be even better if the wheels did not wobble.You think Traxxas could have made sure they rotated a bit truer. Other than that it is pretty freaking cool! I live in the Sprint Car Capitol of the World. So it's pretty cool to see them do this.

First thing I would do is remove the white snap on socket wrench special sticker and probably the Cm-6 stickers. It would look so cool!!
The pics of the real one shows it had the CM-6 & Snap On graphics, so I'd leave 'em.

Honestly, I was impressed by the looks when I first opened mine. Had the same exact wow moment. I like the way it drives. It's a cool little car. I have just a slight wobble in my front wheel. Nowhere near as excessive as yours. A little tip, open up the motor cover on top and add some grease to the bearing for the spur. I noticed an excessive amount of heat coming from that area. Checked the bearing and it was almost at the point of sounding like a creaky door. And I only ran the truck for maybe 3-5 minutes tops. Deep offset wheels fit. Tried some proline primes. Looks good with beefy street tires. Thinking I'm going to add a 17mm hex adapter and run my dboots hoons.

lol in the early 70s i bought a nitro control line aka tethered sprint car just like it. but grey. in fact still have it , has a estes -21 its buried in the shop , still runs just drain trans fluid and fire it up. estes motor is actually a enya. hmm needs tires. was always going to make it rc but figured keep it stock being antique now lol. of course its all metal . but that looks sweet

This car has no impact on traxxas marketing. Snap on was founded in 1920, I dont think it was traxxas idea to make a special car for them..

Not gonna lie, myself and probably at least one of my friends will likely buy them if and when they hit the shelves. I can also see those radius rods being popped out in aluminum if there is demand for them, same with the later dished aluminum knock-off wheels too, those would be cool to see in both aluminum and plastic!

im guessing the cm if from Fred Clemmons old cars. Frederick Earl "Skinny" Clemons (February 14, 1889 - February 10, 1945)[1] was an American race car designer and racing driver. He was one of the first entrants at the Indianapolis 500. He designed and built his own cars, engines and created his own Independent wheel suspension which he patented in 1934. An identification letter 'C’ or ‘Cm ' often appears in front of the race Numbers on Clemons' cars. Lou Meyer, Joe Russo, Wilber Shaw and many other race drivers drove his cars

In all honesty, it looks a bit weird to have an open cockpit but no driver. It'd be like if the Losi dirt bike didn't have a rider - a bit awkward.

I would say $320-380 for a production version would be fair Maybe tqi is gonna be for telemetry and light kit? But I remember the SnapOn Van they had released and I dont remember a production version of it being released So hopefully they do a production version So Cal Speed Shop version would be 🔥🔥🔥 for us in Cali 🤙😁
I think there were two vans. One was just a different body for the x maxx and the other a standalone model but idk on what platform?. So far we got like the hot rods, the hauler and prob some others as snap on only and later as regular models to buy for everyone. I think traxxas waits to see peoples reaction on that thing and if its positive they sure will produce more. Makes no sense for this special new platform to be produced lije 500 times only...
@@polarlicht4758 Yes there are 2 different Snap on Vans your right! 4 tec 3.0 is the chassis for the one i was talking about 50’s Ford Snap On Step Van. They just never released a Regular Van body for it
Cool videos. Like the car. Not to nitpick, but they didn't make the brakes look like rotors, they made them look like drum brakes. I guess they were really going for that authentic look. I'd really like to see companies make classic cars from that era. A Duesenberg would be cool. Something like that. Or iconic cars from TV shows like The original Batmobile or K.I.T.T. You know, the classic stuff. Cool video. Thanks for making it.

The silver thing on the left side near cockpit is a pump to keep pressure on the fuel system which the drivers did during racing.

The extra crome thing on the left side i believe is a pump that needs to be used by the driver every once in a while to pressurize the fuel tank to push fuel to the carb

Yeah, but it looks like the dampers are the springs here instead of just dampers, real leaves would look better, but I’m sure that this set up would drive way better than the buggy spring arrangement would in what ever scale this is, or even the real deal if someone could make real dampers like those.

Mark should come out with an action figure on MSM. To use on the open vechicles and moto. OR a head that would fit on a gi joe body, he-man body, power ranger body, etc. Maybe an extra big bobble head with a camera inside. FPV in the future. Always great videos.
Regarding the stick on the left side could be a parking brake or possibly a shifter like some old motorcycles that had the shifter on the left side and was shifting by hand. Awesome looking car.

If traxxas dose not releace this to the general public they are a bunch of fools. I just started this hobby last (July) and I all ready have over twenty cars from traxxas arma losi and so on. I like your vidios I find them very informative.

If they do a regular production version I can’t really see them doing a generic one like this I’d say maybe more a modern style sprint car with the large wings etc based on this platform and regular 1/10 buggy wheels just my thoughts but that would make a cool class
