BETTY BOOP'S UPS AND DOWNS is a Fleischer Studios animated short film starring Betty Boop and a brief appearance of Bimbo. This is certainly one of the more surreal entries in the Betty Boop filmography.
It looks like everything on Earth is for sale...even the planet itself. The short film makes light of the rash of foreclosures and property auctions in the economic turmoil of the Great Depression, together with some of the distinctive surrealism of the Fleischer style of this era.
It was directed by Dave Fleischer and Roland Crandall who's uncredited and produced by Max Fleischer. It stars Mae Questel as Betty Boop. It was released on October 14, 1932.
