I really look up to art students because when it comes to assignments, you really can’t bullshit your way through it. So you can’t cram everything at the last minute. Each project, each assignment takes up hours of hard work. Hope for the best!
As someone who spent near a week without sleeping for my art finals and they were only for secondary school....I can only feel a fraction of her pain but it HURTS
We called it “dead week” - all activities were supposed to stop and quiet hours 23/7 in the dorm (we’d scream communally at 7 p.m.) social life dead, brain dead.
Can we just talk about how underappreciated artists and musicians are in society? They put years of sweat into mastering their craft, only to struggle to find work and pay bills. The field of arts is over-saturated with highly skilled people, but limited demand, which puts the artists in an unfair position.
everytime i pull an allnighter, i feel more energized than when I go to sleep early. i wonder why. like I literally feel I'm on sugar high and cant fall asleep for quite a while
Probably because your not dealing with any sleep inertia from waking up which is when you feel tired after going into deep sleep, and your body is in a way confused because it realises it’s not getting any sleep and pushes adrenaline that would usually be there when waking up in the morning into your body. These together mean that the next day after an all nighter you will feel quite energised until the sleep catches up to you….
Hello from Russia! My parents are rarely at home and I find it rather lonely to paint in an empty house. So I always watch your videos! They are so comfortable and cozy, always excellent montage and great quality. Thank you for your work, you make other people's lives better!! 🥰❣️
Do you find that the amount of art that you have to do on a daily basis drains your love for art and the process? I’m attending the school next year and was just curious! (P.S. I LOVE your vids!)
I was in Art school for just a year and I was always stressed but believe me that was the best year of my life! You may get really overwhelmed and sometimes hate art but you learn so many things and you have so much fun in art school that at the and you know that it all was worth it:) I’m attempting to art school again this year and I know I’m just so happy and excited for all of those stressful all-nighters:::))))
I am graduating from art school this December and although its definitely hard, I was always inspired to do more and more art as I worked on my current project.
I go to Boston for Art School and I honestly you would think but your surrounded by like minded people and honestly once you get in the flow of things the studio is addicting I love the stress and cramming to finish. I miss my print studio I took a gap year cause of Covid but I can’t wait to go back and creat with like minded people and be in my city
I really enjoy watching videos of people working during finals week, pulling all-nighters, and just *getting that work done!* It's something about being so dedicated to your work and grinding for hours, letting your work space become your living space- I love it.
It's really inspiring to see how passionate you are with your art..i don't do anything art related but it still motivated me to really go all in with things i love..especially work-related stuff :)
10:45 damn I relate so much! Anytime an art person goes out after work. Any friggin time. Currently I work on illustrator on my pc, so I hope at least by tomorrow, I can go to the park.
I've been here since you had 300 subscribers and your channel blowing up makes me so, so happy. I'm going to SAIC for MFA Writing this fall and I could hardly find any authentic art school videos when I was applying. Keep up the hard work, cheering for you✨
Omg I know this pain 😂😂 I’m a graphic design and Art major and finals are a pain! You have to work on our projects weeks early! I’ve also I’m print/screen printing classes and good lord the work we have to do for our prints and then cleaning up after! Usually cleaning and working would go by fast when we would be in our labs/studios at our university. But because of COVID, we had to improvise and find ways to do our works at home. For me, I have no space in my house, taking care of siblings, and the garage is not an option to work in. So, for my table, I drilled in the screen clips into a large wooden canvas for it to be my table and I would put plastic over my bed so ink wouldn’t get on the blankets. Pulled all nighters in making my prints for my finals especially. I do woodblock and screen printing and boy it’s a work out but the results of our projects are worth it. And for me to dry my prints, I hang dry them by hanging them onto the wires in our backyard 😂😂😅
wooow the building is open 24 hours?! That's amazing... I study graphic design and the building closes at 9 or 10 I think, but because of rona it closed at 7 for many weeks... But the bright side is that it forces you to take a break while you're going home and continue there till deep in the night ughh art school is not healthy
@@soominssi7353 oh mine is not in a big city at all either it’s more like a college town. Do they give you your own desk to work at? I will be getting a desk in the studio where no one else uses it but me. I’m going into my first year but the older students also talk about all the all nighters they have to pull in there.
@@heatheralisa8658 wow so lucky!! I don't even have my own desk (the graduates in fine arts or product design do have little studios, I'm so jealous). We just find a place in one of the empty rooms within our department. I really wish we had our own spots because everything would be way more comfortable. The only place of my own is a big drawer where I can store paper, that's it! Good luck on your first year! I'm a third year graphic design student and I don't handle all nighters well. I managed to avoid those by waking up early and working hard all day so if you're scared for all-nighters, you'll manage! But please, always take care of yourself first. It's hard and this study is stressful, but you won't get to enjoy all the fun things if you don't take care of yourself.
@@soominssi7353 thank you for the advice! That’s pretty much the only thing I’m worried about. That and getting creativity exhausted. I’m actually very surprised that we got our desks as well. It does make the program pretty competitive because they only let in 53 freshmen.
Just wanted to say I FEEL YOUR STRUGGLE😭I’m now an Architecture Sophomore student and Freshman year was hell especially during mid terms & finals! The amount of all nighters I pulled, i’m big proud of you🤩🤣Hard work pays off!!
Your vlogs reminded me of when I took print media during my undergrad. I'd wish the studio and campus was open 24/7, but ours was only open from 8am to 9pm, and closed on Sundays. And it would take HOURS to make test prints and figure out a solution when using the printing press. Edit: also buying BFK Reeves every week emptied out my wallet 😭 I had a few of those, Archess and newsprint paper left over after taking all the courses, so I sold them to my friend who needed them.
Congratulation on your work suju, i love your video so much, you are so pretty and sweet and harworking ❤❤❤ (i'm sorry for my english it's not my native language) 😁😅
dude i swear you have an INSANE work ethic... like the fact you had meetings on top of probably several other finals AND you freaking recorded all this!!!! i hope you passed with flying colors
Bless you sis. I love litho to bits too but its crazy tiring. I think it really was when you processed the plate though, that empty spot that wouldn’t ink and print properly. But the final prints came out gorgeous👌🏼 i’m not through with the video yet, nor have i seen your other videos but i hope your crit went well!! Sending love from singapore🍓✨
This made me miss doing litho so much, but also gave me 2nd degree stress stomach aches cuz I remember the weeks I spent powering through prints at 3am
Wait….. that looks like fun!! I should figure out if they have litho at my school!? (Already had a screen printing workshop, a riso printing and I did a cyan photography print before and a brömoil r whatever it’s called photography print Before, and ooh ofcourse the dark room photo developing) I’m a graphic design student
