My Eternal Gratitude for Your Human Voice instead of the plague of A. I. and annoying mispronounced words, to say nothing of it's lack of any emotion.. Thank You again for ALL THE EFFORT!

It's only because of Ian that I can fully appreciate Lovecraft. I've tried reading him many times and just couldn't get into the writing. The style is too old fashioned fashioned for my eyes. But Ian has made it an absolute joy for my ears. Thank you sir for the work you, your family and your friends have put into this literature and thank you for presenting it in a way made palatable to me. Yours has become the voice that I most often fall asleep to when I need to and your presentation has made relaxation and absorption of these classics a complete joy. 😊 I owe you more thanks than I can convey here.
@accelerationquanta5816you don't have a right to judge anyone. Love rafts archaic style is not for everyone. I personally love it but can understand how it can seem tiresome to some. It's all cool.
@accelerationquanta5816 you don't have any right to judge others on their choices or likes. Lovecraft is pretty archaic and hard for some people to read. That's fine. I love his style but it doesn't mean that it's for everyone.
Hahaha yes! Same here I always trying to figure out where that was from. I always assumed it was from one of the Peter VM stories but no :) Finally heard it 🎉
Let me suggest you listen to the "Quiet Please" episode "The Thing on the Fourble Board". For a more modern take on Lovecraft, find a copy of the short story about a lost piece of Miskatonic University IT gear that goes missing-"Pickman's Modem".
These stories are the perfect accompaniment for the stormy/rainy night which is presently working its way through my part of the world. Many thanks, Ian.
I found this channel a few years back, around the time of the 22 hour cthulhu mythos video, however that has been the only video I had watched, time to correct this mistake by finally subscribing and slowly watching almost a month of high quality storytelling
As always many thanks HorrorBabble, you have kept me company on so many nights with fantastic tales, wonderfully delivered. You have my gratitude 🙏. Please do continue delivering us these weird and creepy stories. ❤❤
I haven't yet heard a narrative of yours that I did not enjoy, however your narration here I believe to be your best. "Tip toe through the tulips " , I saw Tiny Tim perform it on the Tonight Show and the expression on Carson's face was priceless.
Cheers! This is a great subject for a collection- especially considering that some readerers might dig certain subjects/themes: underground, in this case. Others such subjects could be, say, Body Horror (The Disinterment, Arthur Jermyn, Cold Air), or Witchcraft, The Sea, or New England, (I know that you've done many like that, but, the more the creepier!) Anyway, if you would do the same for other topics, and not just for HPL, I know I, for ine, would dig it. Cheers! (I am re-re-listening to The Transition of Juan Romero now- which I think is underrated, and probably wouldn't have listened to again if it weren't for this collection!)
@@HorrorBabble Maybe 'best weird fiction of the 20s or (insert decade here)... It would be interesting to see how cosmic horror, etc, was influenced by when it was written. Or, 'Author's first published stories', 'very short stories', and so on. There are so many good readings here that could be collected into themed playlists (e.g. themes such as those above, and many others) which would definitely be appreciated. 🤔👍🤘
Indeed! I've already started working on themed playlists -- look for Categorized Playlists on the main channel page: th-cam.com/users/HorrorBabble It's a big job though, so it's going to take a while to get everything organized. You'll find other playlists there, too, including readings by author, by length, etc.
I have seen a few uploads now, where it was explained that the reading was an edit, sans sound effects that really made the readings feel like old radio plays, the implication being that there had apparently been requests for just such a thing. I will never for the life of me understand why. Listening to the Pickman story just now, here in the dark as I catch up on some gaming, the soundscape really drew me in, the atmosphere was electric, and at times unsettling. Fantastic. I would love to see more recordings featuring such, though as ever and always, even abscent the extra immersion the sound effects provide for me, love to listen to Horror Babble 😔🙏💜
I knew it had to begin with "The Statement of Randolph Carter"...... Even a girlfriend recognizes the start of "Fool, Warren is Dead". Your stories contributed to her comprehension of the English language. Now we can listen together to your stories. Great...and, of course, thanks.
So, after all these years, I finally hear the origin of “You fool, Warren is dead!” and also embarrassingly realized that it was from a story I’d read at least a time or two in the past 30 years. I should’ve known all along.
I keep seeing Lovecrafts lesser known, most obscure work "Further Listening" on a lot of your readings, but every time I click on the timestamp on the TOC it always takes me to some kind of pitch to hear other stories you narrate, (which I do not hesitate to listen to , I hasten to explain) but I would very much like to hear this short tale called Further Listening for I have never heard it. Can you point me to a post where it is all by itself so I dont have to click on those timestamps?
I heard pickmans model, but it was narrated by edward E, french, got lots of cool stories on his channel her on TH-cam. I highly recommend him. You will not be disappointed. Changling
The Ultimate fate of Warren? He got to listen to you folks @HB tell the world he was dead...over & over & over again! Well, it ain't over till it's over & neither am I! Cheers, Warren!

Absolutely! Real, embodied Euclidean beings relating tales of Nameless, Indescribable entities uvulating songs not of this realm.

I’m so happy I just heard where Warren came from… and went to 😂😂😂 this is my favorite channel. Thank you. I’m enjoying this
I do enjoy the long format videos 😃 thanks, Horrorbabble crew!
So grateful for this Ian, The Transition of Juan Romero is one of my favourite HPL stories

just thank you Ian for these stories.
Ian, I never noticed you were singing Tiptoe Through the Tulips in Pickman's Model! Haha! Keep being amazing. You're such a gem. 🖤🖤🖤
I thought it was Tiny Tim!!!
You are SO Cool, Ian,Thanks
I like to think Ian used the Insidious movies as much as Tiny Tim for the inspiration to insert that rocking melody
Simply outstanding many thanks Ian 🙂

Loving the hours-long stories 👍🏾👍🏾

Cool! Another long Lovecraft video to fall asleep / have nightmares to!
This’ll probably still be playing when I awake.
Keep up the good work and, as always, stay safe.
Thought it rude to quote when it’s here in full! ❤
Excellent, excellent! Bravo. The storm, the plaintive mews. Perfect.
This makes my bus rides enjoyable cheers again HorrorBabble!
An interesting take on "Dagon" with him being in an asylum vs. In a hotel. Very immersive.
Sweet man thanks again for your stories
Some of our favorite HB narrations here! Plus the incredible audioplay format story reminiscent of old time radio!
Do you have any pets, Ian?
No pets currently, though there are plenty of 'em belonging to the extended family!

ah wonderful, something to listen to while I'm at work
Grand slam once again, Ian!

Always loved that they brought a flamethrower in _The Shunned House_
I always thought that was the most amusing and least threatening body part to discover (no spoilers)
I knew it had to begin with "The Statement of Randolph Carter"......

Lovely!!❤❤
OMG I've listened to your Pickman's Model dramatic reading idk how many times and I just now caught the Insidious Easter egg...I'm a bit dim sometimes
These are all excellent stories, especially for a slow work day. Thank you!
So this is where Warren is from.
I was geeking out about it when I heard it.
this is the first time I've heard this one,
It's the best Easter egg.
The transition of juan was a member perk but whoops! I heard it here 😂

A wonderful night in store!
Ah, poor Warren😢
Listening from the ukwales ❤

😱😱😱
Im surprised 'The Mound' isnt included. Perhaps it's a bit too long for this sort of collection
I wanted to exclude the mythos yarns on this occasion. Old Cthulhu needs a break every now and then.
