@@reelbluecustomrods Will do! Hopefully i can tune in next Monday. Also rod building has really become a passion of mine recently and I thank you a ton for sharing information like this. It has really helped me push past what i thought i would be capable of this early on. Keep up the great videos and lessons
I got to finish the whole video. Learned some valuable things. I never would have thought to use mesh tape for gimbals that makes complete sense. I also wish that Hitena thread was easier to obtain I cant seem to find it anywhere in stock. Also since you asked about rod builds in the vid i sent a picture through instagram of one i am working on for a friend! Its built on a pink Rainshadow blank. I have a few more neat rod builds coming up soon that i am excited for as well.
@@operatorspectre7428 - I received the he message and will take a look at the rod shortly. Also, very glad you got something from the mesh tape for gimbals, and as always, thank you for watching and commenting.
Love my power wrapper and track system for several reasons. Mostly because it holds the blank from moving left or right. I take the belt off and wrap by hand alot. Then can apply finish and dry never having to move blank to seperate dryer. I occasionally power wrap but the stability you get with the power wrapper head preventing blank from left right movement is a game changer. Cork shaping its another huge plus. Taper your cork ends down then finish with epoxy ramps and you are golden. Love your vids. Regards...long time viewer
Thank you for watching and commenting Tracey, and I totally agree think that is the best way to go for long wraps like this. Sorry you missed the live version.
The Hitena's Red Metallic Versa is beautiful! I am working on a MHX spinning bass on a SJ842-2 for freshwater and a bit of light inshore. I am excited about a new handle Amwrican Tackle CCT Aero. I use the same hand wrapper. I am not at the level to need a power wrapper. Keep up the great work John!
Thank you Jason, and yes, I agree, the red version of their thread looks really good. Your current project sounds interesting as well. Would love to see a picture of it when it’s done. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Not working on any rods at the moment my work room is occupied with a tenant for a couple months, but yeah I have 2 blanks I need to build it one is a 2 PCs. 9'6" med light Matrix Rod that I will used for drop shot and jigging. The Second is a 7'6" Med. Hvy. I'm going to use for Catfishing mostly Carolina rig bait and wait off the bank.
Question: I have the CRB version of that yellow burnisher thingy. It sometimes leaves yellow particulates on my thread. Am I "doing it wrong"? Is my burnisher sub-par? Or is it something about the thread I was using (Madeira Polyneon)?
Yeah, a power wrapper would definitely make this long wraps elastic little easier, but doing them by hand is my thing. Thank you for watching and commenting.
That’s all I’ve been using. I have ordered a rod from North Fork. I am building a frog rod for my son and the only reason I bought this rod was I was watching one of The other guy follow FDX and he was building this frog Rod and my son’s been wanting one so I jumped on the opportunity to buy the rod, but other than that, I support the MHX rods

Wish i could have been here live had to work tonight. Looking forward to learning something from this vid
No worries and there is always next Monday. Same time, and let me know what you think of today’s video.

Thank you for watching and commenting Craig, and agree with all of your comments. Truly appreciate your long time support to the channel. 🙏
I have a Renzetti power wrapper. For long wraps like you are doing, I use the power. The rest of the time I hand wrap on the power wrapper.

I had one do that before and I threw it in the trash and purchased a new one. It is also why I primarily use the 🦴 burnishing tool.
Thank you for watching and commenting as well.
For those big underwrap like you are doing I like my power wrapper. I do a lot of guide wraps by hand

Black or black chrome
Agreed. Definitely going with the black guides. Thanks again.
John what brand of rods do you primarily use
