This is by far the best slap tutorial I've ever seen. No time wasted, clear explanations, what you're doing is fully visible on camera, and you provided a nice regimen of exercises to work up through. Cheers man
What do you think about slapping the string against the fretboard? Kinda more like hitting it at a 90° angle? I’ve always used that technique but I’ve also seen people slapping throught the string like you’re doing here.
This is a great subject. So the slap in a 90 degree angle is a common technique for bass players. I alternate those techniques quite often, sometimes in the same riff. Iv heard players call it more of a thump. I find its great for more tones, especially when over the fretboard. I didn’t go over it in this particular video because the shift in hand position. But I feel that would be good content for anther video.
