I think it is more of a lazy mindset to not want to earn more because of taxes. Hey, the more I earn, the more I give! I've heard people say it's better to be poor in Canada and I'm like; why would I want to remain poor because of benefits? I am always happy to earn more!
If you pay high taxes and the government provide the amenities they are supposed to provide, then it is okk. You see your tax in what the government provide. The problem is that we are not use to paying taxes.
God bless you, my dear . You did justice to the topic. To all my fellow Nigerians, the sky is your beginning in Canada. Never listen to nay sayers. You’re destined for success and not for government handouts
I think it's a mindset issue........ If it's in you to evolve career wise and be better, you won't consider not earning much because of taxes......... An entry level earning more than a manger, hmmmm doesn't sound sane or possible fr...... I mean, the government being able to support people in need, sums up from taxes the well to do pay (for me, i see no big deal there) at least my tax is helping someone out there out.............. Lots of Nigerians won't mind paying taxes or paying regular if it's being used wisely and used physically........... #myperspective#
Right on point my dear. We do pay heavily here with nothing to show for it from the government side. An analyst said last month that there are 62 different taxes in the country with a lot of us paying multiple taxes (meaning, we do repeat taxes that we have paid somewhere else) always and called on the government to see to this as a way to ameliorate the suffering of the helpless people.
So how is having a skill and working smart considered poor?! This is poor mindset , the same people have on us back home with our skills. Owning a fashion business, I can't explain the amount of times i have been underlooked, disregarded for being able to tailor, knit, bake, make furniture and so much more. 🙌🏾
You have to make just enough money to make not being poor make sense. I pulled my family out of poverty but lost access to legal aid, free or cheap extracurricular activities, and training. At the beginning, it felt like I lost more than gained
I really appreciate your clarifications, this is the way it should be, the social welfare packages in the country is fair. The rich ought to pay higher taxes to take care of of the needies unlike the capitalist societies where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. That's why these countries are averagely okay at peace and the others in pains and crises. The hungry poor turn out to give not only the rich a nightmare, but terrorise the whole society at large.
She is right and wrong. I have worked in a setting as a manager on salary and a worker of the same establishment. On salary, I made more per hour, but would not be paid overtime. The workers could work overtime and make more money than me.
Tomi , you are beautiful woman, with a beautiful heart. May the good Lord bless you and your family in Jesus name Amen Amen Amen 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼💙❤💜💚🤎🤗🥰😘
Please, your makeup/ colour is blowing my mind 😂. Tomi, I saw your video where you complaining about hyperpigmentation in Canada. Please, is the cream you got from Nigeria the " game changer"?

But Also, we see people cheating the system.
People no longer aim to work harder to live off the rich.
I have seen parents who try to have their children diagnosed to get more money. That is true
It’s common here in the UK too.
