      Finally got out for my first hunt of this year yesterday at my go-to spot, yayyy. Felt good. Now we have a very very soggy day today. I'm getting caught up on video watching. LOL. Nothing else to do, LOL

    Ever wonder why the Southern Oregon town is called "Gold Beach" ? Now you know

    • @DigginIt
      @DigginIt  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am just North of there, but I have family in Gold Beach although I've heard 2 stories how it got it's name... One being the gold coins found washed up on the beach presumed from a shipwreck off the coast and the other because of the gold in the black sands washed down from the rogue river. There is a lot of gold in that river and it's tributaries. Good Luck & Happy Huntin'!

    Don't think gold coins/caskets weighing hundreds of pounds that sank 8 miles out in almost 300 feet of water will be 'washing ashore' much.

      Gold from Spanish galleons lost at sea wash up on the Florida and East Coast states often... I don't see why it isn't possible on the West Coast... back in the 70's a gold bar was found lodged in Simpson Reef in Southern Oregon just a few hundred yards from shore. had the rocks not caught it, it may have found its way to shore during a storm.
      Good Luck & Happy Huntin'!

      The West Coast is Great! The only bad thing is because of so much rain we have so much underbrush to hunt through. :)
      Hope your doing Well, Stay Safe. :)
      Good Luck & Happy Huntin'!
