I think its a different experience when you see all those red rock cliffs from the river. I am sure it’s definitely more beautiful and magnificent seeing in person. The river seems very quiet. I loved the petroglyphs and seems similar to Valley of Fire state park in Nevada. Beautiful outdoor exploration!
What a beautiful way to see and experience the canyon. Love seeing petroglyph’s and trying to determine the story they were telling. The red cliffs are just beautiful. Would love to paddle board here.
Wow, now that's a rafting trip that I would enjoy...not so much in to the white water! Perfect!! A journey back in time, especially with the petroglyphs! Love it! Keep the adventures coming! Bruce and Otis
If there was a waterfall on the way up to it, I bet you would! The petroglyphs were definitely cool. Earlier on this trip we visited the petroglyphs monument in Albuquerque. It was lame and there will be no video because of it, for now.
They need Walmart out there. Not much else by way of civilization lol. The rain was thankfully only at the end. We were glad the bus ride back was warm and dry.
For five or six years straight we would drive over 500 miles west with 5 or six sea kayaks, arrive at Lee's Ferry, park the SUV, and embark, .paddling the 15 miles upriver, yes, against the current. We would camp overnight midway (15 miles total to the dam), get as close to Glen Canyon Dam as the law allowed, then turn around and ride the current back to Lee's Ferry. We never encountered whitewater, only turquoise to clear cold water, and we swam too. The only real concern is returning and missing the dock at Lee's Ferry because just beyond is the official start of the Grand Canyon which requires a permit as well as crafts stouter than our 15' sea kayaks. It's one of my favorite places in the world. We eventually learned to hire the same Wilderness River Adventure boats to take us and our kayaks on their return trips up from Lee's Ferry to the dam so we could easily float downriver with little effort. However, I think I prefer the challenge of paddling the 15 miles upriver against the current. Not exactly a picnic, but an accomplishment not to be forgotten. Thank you for the video and commentary. and stirring my fond memories. An above and beyond work of art on your part.
That sounds incredible! We normally don’t take boat tours, although we have been doing so more lately. Like you, we love to kayak. But hauling our 17+ footers around the country can be difficult. For what it’s worth, Boquillas Canyon in Big Bend is one of our favorite paddles ever.
This is a wonderful Float trip did it in Jun 2024. Due to the increased rock slides and instability of parts of the Canyon walls the tour no longer starts at the damn.
Hello. I received an email that I should have proof of purchase of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area entry fee and I may also purchase the $15 individual pass in addition to our trip. So, how can I pay the $15 individual pass and the entry fee as well ? Thank you.
I am not sure. When we went, we paid the $15 entrance fee when we checked in with the company. I don't think there is a pass and a fee. It's just one price to pay for the park.
We are back again !
Grand Canyon such beautiful place to visit
Definitely in our bucket list.
Happy weekend guys
Happy weekend as well!

It is definitely! That's ultimately why we like kayaking especially. Valley of Fire is on our hitlist for next time!

I would love to paddle board right now too! These landscapes are so foreign to us, but so! cool

White water can be hairy, but we do trust guided trips. This was definitely an easy trip, but long because of the driving.
It looks like it was breathtaking I can only imagine what it was like in person.
Any video I’ve ever watched by anyone - I say the same thing. If it looks awesome on film, it always looks even better in person.
I have always been fascinated by petroglyphs and I love to see those there and all the scenery is incredible beautiful
We were too. Desert terrain and the ancient aspect of civilization and how and why it existed on these areas has always fascinated us
You didn’t hike up the canyon to see the Walmart? That’s disappointing. I really wanted to see that. Ha ha. The petroglyphs were really cool.

Great Video! Looks like a fun area to take any sort of flotation device. -Anthony
Thanks Anthony. :)
Walmart truly is a modem marvel 😂🤣. Screw those bathrooms 🙌🏼🤙 and bummer on “the smack down”.

Wow, beautiful place. Great adventure😀. New friend here from Canada.🇨🇦
Thank you!

Awesome views is very beautiful
Thank you again 😁
Beautiful area👍🏼🇺🇸
It really is! Can’t wait to kayak it next time 😁
What month did you take this you? Going the end of April and wondering what the weather will be like on the water.
It was the end of September. We’re not from the area but I imagine the weather will be nice, just cold in the mornings. Summer - no thanks!

Oh wow, that’s a bummer. The dam looks so cool as you leave. Where’s it start now?
Looking for the best motorized water adventure in late Sept 2024, is this the trip that you would suggest?
Did you book online or walked in to the company for your booking?
We booked it online.
