The original lyrics to "Tau Fuata Niue" from Niuean (composer) Hala Tutavaha and Liliani, who reside in Auckland after leaving Niue Island in the 1960s.
Many of our Dads songs were written about the Life and struggles of the Niuean people
and this song was basically based about the younger adults of Niue who are focused more on there physical bodies and not on there spiritual beliefs. Niuean Islanders believe and practice religion as every Sunday everything is closed and everyone must attend church. Only if you are a Seventh Day Adventist which was introduced into the Island later years.
Father Tutavaha now resides in the Hillcrest Rest Home Mangere since October 2019 and mother Ani, resting peacefully since July 23rd 2020
