as a non GG player, how does one stop that move where Elphelt shoots rapid-fire downwards? I've watched a lot of Pot v Elph matches and that move always seems to hit.
The non-elphelt player needs to guess if she's gonna do the high or low version, and it's a multi-hit ability. She can do 2 parts to it as well and mixup high low
It's just a guessing game
it's essentially a coin flip; when starting the rekka attack sequence, she can either pick a high or low attack. if you guess right and block in the right direction, every character's punch or forward+punch will interrupt the sequence. otherwise she can just do the rekka over and over (there are more options she can take but that's the essence of it)
She can only go into the mix move without being interrupted only from 2 attacks:
1. Her standing pistol shot.
2. The one where she falls on you with the gun.
Both attacks have their own flaws and counterplay, so the main gameplan is to interrupt her before she goes into that mix move.
(And also she needs meter to cancel that move into a combo for good damage, otherwise even getting hit isn't as threatening)
Yes, it's a coinflip, but if she opens with 236S -> P (high) then getting hit is a mosquito bite that noone cares so people tend to block low because low does more damage. If she goes LOW into HIGH then she's losing all her damage without RC and giving you a chance to reset. Most of the time she won't end Rekka with HS because 1 - it knocks people away; 2 - it can only come from getting the first coinflip right; 3 - it's more risky for conversion with RC. If she gets greedy (me XD) and goes for a reset with S, mash 5P or 6P and her pressure immediately breaks, some characters can convert off of that even. So yes, her rekka does seem very scary, but 5P or 6P beats the first hit of 236S, the coinflip is skewed towards blocking the low hit, 5P or 6P beats S reset, and unless she has meter, the damage is negligible.

This is probably my least favorite match-up as Elphelt. I'm sure the Pot is stressed about it, but I'm also shook from how he can stop my Rekka and just command grab me twice and I basically lose. Lmao

The way i look at it is if pot 2 busters in the round he probably took it vs everyone. So with that in mind i dont consider that a deciding factor in the pot mu. Its like worry about sol out damaging you, its a part of the character. What does bother me tho is how well pot can lock down elphelt. It feel wierd not being able to fight back as much as i'd like.
That too. Elphelt really can't do much against Garuda Impact. And if decides to do a move with armor frames, she gets cooked. Honestly the only way for Elphelt to fight Pot is to mash and pray he gets hit over and over. Lol

As a pot player I hope you never learn the matchup cause this shit is painful the 50/50s are so annoying and hard to react to sometimes. But in all honesty this is a really good match to watch and learn from cause this elphelt definitely knows what they’re doing and mixes this pot like some sauce

God this elphelt plays in the least intuitive way possible, just spam rekka until win and RC when that doesn't work.
and the thing is, it works well most of the time. it pains me so much when a character's optimal playstyle is completely sauceless like this, they really butchered her moveset going into strive so much it's actually upsetting
Yeah I hate to say it but this is optimal and the way to win with her, she has fun stuff just no reason to do it because it’s so risky for no reward.

It's so disingenuous to boil down a characters gameplan into a sentence and then say it's not intuitive. You could do the same for literally any character in this game. Millia just crossups after Tandem Top, Ram just pokes from midrange with f.s., and HC goes for openings with his gun.
I'm sorry that you specifically dislike Elphelt's gameplan but it's not "non-intuitive" just because of that.
@@shadowbytheway1686 How is she any less interesting to fight then the rest of the characters in this game? I can understand not liking mixup characters but nearly every character in this game can do BS mixups and what not. Atleast Elphelt has readily apparent counterplay.
Also, I'm not sure what you're wishing for when you say that you wish she was more fun to play as. I'm sorry you don't like playing as her, but that's not really a problem??

This should be limited to maximum of 2. That would be better and players will be forced to change their moves and choose other tactics.
Just as braindead as any of Sol's confirms into Bandit Revolver for corner carry, to be fair. Every character has braindead setups to get them to corner but Elphelt's routes are the only bad ones because they use the same move with readily apparent counterplay.
Delete Elphelt and give us Robo-Sol Metalguy Mark IV.

Seriously, they need to give her more identity than making cheapest version of Noel vermillion. Like earlier they did. Not asking for bringing back her broken setup in xrd. Atleast give her better route. Nerf her rekka because it gets repetitive. Even johnny GGX has more broken setup at launch ( broken Otg, round start combos to death or infinity, unblockable Bacchus which literally used in mid-screen and loops which exists before johnny getting dustloop at xrd) than johnny at Rev. Still character looks fun to play.

"Nerf her rekka" Are you talking about the move that gets hard-countered by 6p; a universal tool that everyone has? I wish it wasn't a knowledge check, sure; but so is damn near everything in any given matchup so I don't think it's that bad.
"Because it gets repetitive" is the wackiest reason I have ever seen anyone give for wanting a nerf. It gets repetitive fighting Baikens 24/7 in the tower but I'm not gonna say they should nerf her.
@@ElpheltGamer yep, If you actually see how Noel vermillion does more stuff compared to elphelt. It still feels more unique. Rekka puts you in Rng shit. If you know the match up. Characters are no longer a threat. Using repetitiveness in terms of how characters feel linear. Fighting different baiken doesn't give you the same set of experience but helps you how to approach. Fighting game expressions matter more than everyone has the same universal tool why won't I use this type of mentality.

Sol is a rushdown version of Terry bogard in previous entries which still has its own charm, sets and expression. Meanwhile Elphelt lacks because of how she least stuff does in screen comparison to Noel vermillion which could distinguished her from the person which she based off. Not asking for a knock-off. Asking for variety.

@@ElpheltGamerYou DO know that rekka cant be 6Pd if you 5H or 6H into it right, and even on the rekka reset, ON HIT only specific characters can 6P out, if they block anyone can, but on hit only some. The counterplay to 5H/6H rekka is backdashing, depending on your character you can get a punish, most characters only get a grab but may can sneak in a closeslash. Pot is one of the only characters that cant really do this cause his backdash is really slow and makes it hard to punish
