    Most of you people don't understand this clip, it doesn't not show how these stars look from pluto, but rather how they would look in place of sun from pluto

      Pluto has only a night sky, no day time light like the earth. Every star in the galaxy will look exactly like it is seen from the earth. The only exception will be our own sun. From Pluto, even our sun will look like any other star.

    Uy scuti is 1,188,000,000km of diameter and Pluto is 5,900,000,000km away from it but still, it looks like the star is almost touching it. Amazing

    I got a bit of a shock when Antares popped up, but then came the larger monsters! For a second I thought UY Scuti was going to burst out of my screen!! Very good video. :)

      For your information, Pluto IS NOT [on average] the planet in the solar system furthest from the Sun, it is Neptune!
      But, because of its great eccentricity, Pluto is at its maximum, more distant from the Sun than Neptune.
      Also note that the dwarf planet Pluto (not much smaller than Mercury), is not [on average] about 6 billion km from the Sun or Earth, but less than 1 billion km, ...
      ... whatever the place where it is !!
      This is due to two errors of science: on its average orbit radius [less than 36 a.u] AND on the average Earth-Sun distance, which is significantly less than 150 million km !!!
      (between 33 and 54 million km → values corrected today November 20, 2020 ).

    Ok the real question is how temperature change on pluto according to the difference stars.

      Depends on the corresponding luminosity. As a general rule, the luminosity of the bigger stars is higher, therefore more energy (in the form of light) will be hitting Pluto with the larger stars.
      Pluto doesn't have a significant atmosphere that can hold in heat (and if it *did*, the star is so bright it would quickly blast it away anyways), so you'd be experiencing the heat the same way as on the moon, which for reference is about 230 degrees F when you're in the sunlight, but in the shade it drops to around -150 degrees.
      As for how high the temperature would get in the day on Pluto around these giant stars, I'm not 100% sure (need to do some calculations), but I can guarantee it would be *way* higher than 230!
      At night, however, the temperature would drop way back down into the negatives.

      @Spanish Yes, exactly like Mercury! That's an even better example. Any areas in the light would be super hot, but there could still be ice at the bottom of deep craters if they never receive any light.

      Obviously it's because this is depicting the size, if it was the brigthness the sun would outshine the entire sky around him and you wouldn't be able to tell his boundaries, that can also give you an idea of how bright would be the bigger stars.

      This isn’t accurate, if sun appear like this, we never discover ploto. Because of sun light we know there is pluto. Sun light is enough bright to reflect it’s light in Pluto. That's why telescopes can discover pluto. Without sunlight pluto can't be seen or discovered since it’s don’t have it’s own light. This video total garbage.

      You're referring to speed of light in free space.
      It's slower through dense medium, it's slower in deep gravity. It would take many millennia for light radiated from the star's core to reach the surface.

    This is a very good camparison, and I think you are right, Arcturus would be the "maybe" good Sun to Pluto, but it depends not only on it´s diameter but many other reasons like the best moon, the best sea the best atmosphere and many other things of life - similar to our life.

    Me pregunto si con UY Scuti Pluton seria habitable o se asaria, estaria a una distancia similar a Urano de nuestro sol pero UY Scuti es enorme

    It's hard to wrap my mind around how massive some of these must be to look as big as they do from Pluto. They look so close to Pluto....but they're so far away. This universe is too big for humans to traverse.

      I think you mean "how big they must be." These stars actually have a relatively low mass usually. UY Scuti only has about 10 solar masses despite being around 755 times the size of the sun.

      provavelmente se uma dessas gigantes estivesse no lugar do Sol, Plutão é que estaria na zona habitável e poderia haver vida por lá, já que depois da Terra ele é o planeta mais ativo do sistema solar, muito mais vivo que Marte por exemplo!

    Si podrían hacer el video por ejemplo:
    1- Las Estrellas de pequeñas a hipergigantes
    Vistas desde las lunas de Neptuno o de urano
    2- Las Estrellas de pequeñas a hipergigantes vistas desde la Nube de Oort
    Obs: Los ejemplos que di son desde que comienza la distancia desde El Sol ☀

    Es impresionante la distancia de la tierra y Plutón , y aún así es enorme uy scuti ni aún así se puede ver desde la tierra por la enorme distancia que se encuentra .y eso que la galaxia tiene como 1 trillón de kilómetros de extremo a extremo Felicitaciones

    Aos que estão assistindo, não interpretem como se em Pluto se vê todas essas estrelas em tal magnitude. A comparação proposta é observar que Pluto está tão longe do sol e se vc estivesse lá o Sol apareceria muito pequeno. Mas nessa mesma distância outras estrelas com magnitudes maiores seriam vistas desta maneira. O Sol é uma estrela de quinta grandeza. Todas que aparecem obviamente são muito maiores. No final estava me sentindo em Mercury. Rsrs

    Hey. Explain to me why in this diagram (0:31) it is shown that from the sun to the pluto 5.9 million kilometers if there should be an average of 5.9 billion kilometers. If the diagram had a view of 5900 million, then why the sun, judging by this diagram, equals 1 billion km in radius?

      Probably. They are less hot at this size though, and more like clouds. I mean the sun is almost like a cloud too, and not dense at all from our perspective.

    Even though you see it in the video it still cant show how big this stars are because when you look at the video you only think that the stars are just coming closer not that they are bigger, in fact if you can watch without thinking the stars are getting closer but they are keeping the same distance and they are getting bigger then u are a lucky guy my friend you just witnessed how big this universe is !

      Olá William: Observe o que diz com uma lente de 200 milímetros, porque se fosse menor, o sol estava quase invisível. Portanto, a visão pode parecer um pouco exagerada, mas a escala está correta. Assista ao último vídeo visto de Saturno, onde usei uma lente de 50 mm. aproximadamente o do olho humano.
