i played this season for the first time today and illari is TERRIFYING i actually got jumpscared by this floating person with a glowing aura before they solo ulted me.
Sometimes when I get hit by the ult but don't see the illari that shot it, it scares the crap out of me. The sun effect on the edges of your screen is terrifying for some reason.
Illari isn't actually as strong as you think. Think about it, many content creators that are usually top 500 would pick up Illari, got to an unranked lobby (since she isn't playable in ranked) and just dominate while saying this character is broken when their mostly playing against noobs. The only aspect of her kit that are really broken is her healing turret, and not only because of its healing numbers. You supports gain ult charge not only by doing damage but by also healing. And if you put the healing turret at a choke point where it is constantly pumping your teammates with healing overtime they take so much as 1 damage, this means that the healing turret is provide Illari with a crap ton of ult charge. Plus if she starts healing herself or doing damage to the enemy team, its no wonder she gets her ult literally every 5 seconds, the turret as make it impossible for the enemy team to flank. And that 40hp per second grants your team insane sustainment in poke comps as well. So I just think they just need to decrease her ult generation and decrease the healing turrets healing, then she will be balanced

Fun thing about the pylon on some maps if not all you can throw it at the skybox and it sticks as well at some areas like the outside big health pack on Kanezaka it can heal you and you practically just can’t die and no it doesn’t get destroyed and gamers don’t look up :D

Hi Andrew. I've seen your community posts and I just wanna say a thing that not everyone might agree with, but I think you might wanna hear it as a reassurance or a positive affirmation, something like this. You're the person who got me to play OW1 almost six years ago now. I've always went to you for motivation for at least getting up from bed and getting in front of my PC at my worst, so I could find some way to distract myself. I think you are a great person, your OW videos are probably the most entertaining ones on the game up there with Pizzaroni and such. You guys always treat the game like it should be treated - a game. But that being said, if a game doesn't feel that fun to play anymore as you have expressed, if you have a lot of negative experience and feel burnt out from it...I don't think it's good to force yourself to do more content for it. I know it's not like you can just completely switch to a whole different game in a blink of an eye, but I watch pretty much everything you do and I feel way better knowing you enjoy the game. Hell, I don't even have a Switch, but I love seeing you play Pokemon and Zelda because they clearly bring you a ton of joy. I can't give you any advice and so I will not. But please, just know there are people who relate to you, who appreciate all of your content and who do, in fact, care for you as an individual. I don't know you as a person, but I will watch anything with you involved because you really do seem nice, charismatic, clever and very cool to be around. Take care man, please be gentle with yourself.
She is definitely my favorite of the heroes that have been released in OW2. I think the only thing they should potentially nerf is her Pylon. Whether that be a slight decrease in its healing per second power OR that it self-destroys after a certain amount of time like I think ALL turrets should. Great video as always man!!
That Death lazer reminds me of Sparks from Dirty Bomb, Charge up headshot on a healer that was so strong people stopped playing snipers, so it got nerfed lol.

I would agree with you on the point that you're making about heroes' strength, but you have to consider that, for a tank player, the stronger the power level are, the worst it feels to play

The gun looks like a trace rifle from Destiny 2 and like a railgun combined and the character is just a Warlock from Destiny lol I love it. Also hope you’re doing well Andrew.
What a lot of people haven’t caught on to us that Illari’s primary fire is hitscan, but it has a hitbox size that is very closely comparable to most projectile heroes. So you have the advantage of a hitscan shot as well as the advantage of a projectile’s size. It’s kind of dumb. Rest of her kit is basically fine though.
Love the video! I hope the content continues. I do agree that more power with the downside of a possible would make games more interesting and character selection more impactful.

I agree with your last statement!!! Overwatch for me was so fun because of how strong and op the characters were!!! And now that they nerfed some of my favorites I don’t have as much fun as I used to. It feels like they’re lowering themselves to other shooters which I think is wack. I wish they would allow for different versions of overwatch to be playabale or allow us to customize character abilities/power levels as a way to bring back previous variations of the characters
Your balance out talk with characters being stronger, that was the best thing about overwatch 1. Everyone was so op in their own way that all you had to do was counter pick
I just have a theory that blizzard and hi rez got an contract that they can copy each other work on heroes like fr Illari ult is just Androxus ult but with the different spice you know.
I love your videos and I love illari. And I also believe every hero should feel like her and not miserable like current roadhog or lifeweaver for instance I also believe she doesn't need/deserve a nerf There are TONS OF WAYS to play around / counter her You mentioned suzu, moira's fade, dva and sigma swallow, genji deflect, reaper fade, bapt lamp and you can keep going.. Once everyone will be used to her ult then no one other than bronze will clump up together in a doorway as she ults or be ready to cleanse it Her headshots are powerful but it requires skills to land them, period. Not everyone is Andrew or ml7 and whatnot, most people will land body shots at best and miss quite a lot. Her pylon is great and honestly I'd feel better is the supports currently lacking in the healing department receives a buff instead of nerfing the pylon.. It's a great hero and should be the baseline for any new heros or reworks
No longer playing Overwatch but after watching this video a couple of times, this is the Combat Medic type of character I've been begging for! A support class who can hold their own in a fight, still provide health & NOT be a walking bullseye over ones head (I.E Mercy) Baptiste was "Supposed" to be this to an extent but his primary was severely lacking mainly because of it's burst fire. (I have an aversion to burst-fire weapons as too many times I'm unable to get the burst to fully hit to gain the maximum damage due to unpredictable movement thus ending up clipping them with a shot only doing a 1/3 of the full damage)
You don't know pain until you're a soldier trying to escape a 5 v 1 while slowed since illari screwed over the rest of your team, cause all of a sudden your get out of jail free card is gone

Andrew makes overwatch look so cool and wholesome, but then I log on and get yelled at for 2 hours

Also a big problem is that the pylon can be sticked behind a wall so the enemies can't even shoot it and can't kill you... so gg i guess
