I think the 2026 outback finally has a hybrid power train coming. They've been very stubborn at getting their hybrids out there. And a lot of the new 26 models look so much better.
I like it. Never drove the Highlander so can’t really say for sure. Still waiting on a hybrid (or full EV if that’s the plan) before I trade in my 2019 Ascent
I think it's better than the Highlander. I test drove both, went with the Ascent. Better ride, better price, you get the full suite safety features standard, and straight up objectively nicer cabin. Also, you will have significantly easier time getting the car in the spec you want, especially since Toyota nickels and dimes you for a 360 camera, AWD, or larger screen package. (Good luck trying to find an AWD Green Highlander Limited with Harvest Beige interior and the 360 camera) So far my 2023 Ascent has been great after 25,000 miles so far, although I'm anal about maintenance. You won't be disappointed with either option, honestly. Someone could easily make the case for Highlander's 8-speed automatic, Toyota reliability, etc.
Eh... I feel like I have to tie a sweater around my neck and take my laptop to starbucks if I buy a Subaru.
Don't forget the dog hair all over the vehicle lol
Sweater and Starbucks is for euro brand owners.

Still digging my 2019 Ascent, but when Subie gets a hybrid (Wilderness Edition) I’m trading it in
Check Long Term Quality Index and compare Subaru to Toyota.
Subaru ascent looks good for a suv love the interior
100%
Subaru is my goto brand over any other brand
Definitely won’t last as long as
get better camera, out of focus many times
Errr is it better than a Highlander or not?
It is because slightly cheaper, better looks, bigger screen more features and good reliability

@ I guess I should buy one right away then.

@@panzer_TZsubies tend to have better safety scores.
Still doesn’t compare to the thick pillars on Volvos.
