Owning a Woodland with the Family

  • In this film, we visit the Morton family - Andy, Jane, and five-year-old Thomas - to ask how they use the woodland and what each of them loves most about being in their woods. With plenty of imagination and hard work, they've used the space and its abundant natural resources to create opportunities for a range of activities with different groups of people: building beautiful structures, shelters and a private family cabin for overnight stays; as a resource for forest school activities and running craft courses; using wood, water and clay from the land; being with friends and meeting other young families, and as a special place where they can simply be together, with everything they need to be comfortable away from home. What would you do with a woodland of your own? #woodlandownership #woodlands #nature

Beautiful. I've just bought a 4.25 acres wood in the Surrey Hills. My grown children are so excited to get started on our Forestry Commission plan to restore the wildlife 😁 🐝 🦉🦅🌿🛖🥀

Is Andy's brother the head of the local planning dept.? It's a bit misleading, please don't buy woodland thinking you can just start building cabins in the UK.

Really lovely to see . I just hope some slimy local parish councillor doesn't spoil it for them like one did to us and our woodland nieghbours. Even though he's got more land than any of us he still feels the need to interfear with our land which we own.

Enjoyed the video thanks. Being over 10 acres of woodland and that they run woodland courses I suspect they are able to put up temporary wooden structures that helps towards their goal of sharing the wonderful place they are fortunate to steward while they own it.
