Nicaragua is known for poets and artists, Granada's poetry festival is one of the biggest in the world. I am surprised that nobody even mention this. Culture is not only churches, it is creative people living and creating today.

Although I am from Nindiri (a town between Managua & Masaya) Granada is definitely one of the most beautiful places I've been to in the world. It's also great to warn everyone about the sun and mosquitos because it can take a toll. Also, fire ants!! Depending on where you are in Nicaragua, fire ants are problem in some areas that may not have paved roads. If you would like to go to Nicaragua please go, it really is worth it 😊

Wolters World I was born in Nicaragua- moved to Canada as a child- but I do have very fond memories of that city. I love the architecture where houses from the outside look nothing special, but life is happening behind those walls, inner gardens and fountains, open living areas...a mini- Andalusia . I went to Nicaragua 2018 I wanted to show my husband the country where I was born and he fell in love with Granada- 4 days en young the that charming city. I loved your enthusiasm in the video - that’s how my husband and I felt about Granada.

My family is from there and I can say you would be surprised how many people do know enough. Also, there's plenty of people like myself (raised in Florida since I was 3yrs old) or my family that are from there but have lived in the states for many years and frequently go back to visit. Therefore, we are bilingual and if we happen to be around and see a language struggle will gladly jump in and help. There's also plenty of expats there too, from USA and mostly from Europe believe it or not. Unless you're off the beaten path, which I doubt you'll go there lol you should be fine with communication. And if you already know "un poco Espanol" even sweeter. I've never known Nica's to be rude because you do not speak Spanish, they will mutually try to understand and help.

If you're in Granada or San Juan Del Sur, the typical tourist places. There are quite a lot of people who know English. But if you go basically anywhere else you have to know at least some Spanish.
