I’m a software developer and I’m fully remote and this is my first job after graduating been here for a year now. I feel so unhappy in my job and I don’t feel connected to people on my team either . It’s hard to make a relationship via online . My relationship with my team members is saying I got this done and assisting if they needed help and leaving the teams call after that. They don’t seem to want to really talk or make any sort of a work connection.
Flower, if you have interests maybe reach out to groups that share the same interests. Volunteering is also a good way to meet ppl and add value to your life.

I've changed for food segment working as Data Engineer and the culture was the most important thing for me and working fully remote changes everything when you want to pass time as you like and not loosing daylight you know? Well, talking about my life... War. Here in Ukraine in the XXI century. Still can not believe it. I was able to take 7 days off just to get my s*t together and get rid of news and the internet cuz all those things destruct me from work. I might say it helps. Last Saturday I woke up to several explosions in my town and even heard one of the missiles flying near my house. That's crazy. Anyway... I have to manage myself to be a productive even in such circumstances. Pease y'all

I was able to take a 2 1/2 month break in between transitioning from my old job into my first job in tech. I loved every minute of it. I was able to clear my mind and regroup. Awesome video as always!
I just got laid off from the startup I was working for, I also feel somewhat grateful. My mom just passed and I needed some time. Also I can study and work on some side projects which is always great.

I worked in FinTech for 4 years and it’s the only job I ever quit. I ignore emails from FinTech companies. I want no parts of it because the culture is toxic. Too high pressure and decisions are made in a rush which never really allows you to build long term solutions that are well thought out BTW smart to take a month of. I literally do that in between all jobs. It is extremely important to unwind before jumping to another job. I honestly don’t know how people quit and like a week later are back at work I guess you have to be financial stable to be ok taking a month off for your mental
I really don't understand why these companies are mandating hybrid. Honestly speaking, did you feel there was any real benefit for your team to be meeting in person multiple times a week? I could understand maybe once or twice a month, but 3 days a week is overkill imo Anyway congrats on your new job!

Not true in my perspective but also depends what you mean by “only get so far”. I’m also a coding bootcamp grad. My company hires a lot of bootcamp grads (mostly of a specific bootcamp our CTO likes). Many incredible senior engineers are bootcamp grads, a senior engineer became an engineering manager (one of the tracks engineers take), engineer of same bootcamp left to take a job at Google. I see them thriving around me but I also don’t know what exactly you mean and what’s been presented as “unreachable” for bootcamp grads to you!

Def not true once you gain work experience you can go just as far as anyone else.
