I am Tsonga by surmane 🙈🙈and used to speak the language with my grandfather, but I was not very fluent. My mother is Pedi, I grew up in a Tswana-dominated area, and did Setswana at school. I always found it difficult to switch between the languages. I could understand Tsonga but had difficulty responding. Unfortunately, my grandfather passed away in 2015, and now it seems like I have forgotten even simple phrases that I used to know. I am on a journey of re-learning. Thank you for this 🤗🤗. My few years in Jozi forced me to learn Zulu so now it is time to go back to my roots 😂😂.

Tsonga is a bantu or Niger Congo language. Tsongas and all other southern African tribes came from the great lakes many centuries ago and some of us have similarities with the people of DRC because it's our origin

In Mozambique this is called Changana/xichangana (a language from my province). I grew up only speaking Portuguese. Now at 25+ a wanna learn it.
