What you are doing now, watching group/solo varieties/lives/concerts/interviews/etc, is exactly all you need to do to learn about the members and their friendships/relationships. Already you are picking up certain dynamics from just Arcade alone, like leader/maknae. See? Do we really need those compilations? Not at all. I'm so disappointed at the part of this fandom that creates and consumes that kind of content, and that clamors at reactors to consume it as well. Those ship compilations are biased to the popular international ships (Kaisoo, Chanbaek, and ships including combinations of popular members together). What that means is that ships that are combinations of the less popular (internationally) members (usually Suho, Chen, Xiumin, Lay) get half-a$$ed compilations, with just the bare-minimum amount of "research" done to gather their moments and their dynamics/friendships. Moreover, ship compilations are full of out-of-context situations and can be full of tbh inappropriate/unfunny sexual innuendo, a lot of times the kind that tends to feminize one member over the other (i.e. one is the "girl" in the relationship), projecting the shippers' unrealistic/problematic perceptions. So basically these compilations are either biased/exclusionary, problematic, and/or misleading. As I said, stick to exactly the type of stuff you are already reacting right now and you will *organically* learn personalities and member friendships. I hope you take this into consideration :).
