Yeah. He definitely could have won with like 4-6 more delivery drones. That hero power is insane in control vs. control matchup.
That first hunter definitely thought Kibler was playing murloc shaman based on the first few turns, probably what lost him the game

Awesome, there's a unique battlecry quote when you play Swampqueen Hagatha as Hagatha the Witch; "...power for US, and death for you." If you play her against an opponent Hagatha, it's "...power for ME, and death for you." I hadn't heard that before.

Adding cards to your deck is a game changer. Everything revolved around endgame fatigue
Elysiana breaks the whole fatigue mechanic, which was put in the game for a reason.
The reason was that it felt lame to just end the game when someone's deck ran out like in Magic or Yugioh
Mecha’thun is in standard though. If the game slows down enough that Elysiana is being run in every deck, nullifying fatigue, then Mecha’thun decks come back

Is it? Or is it programmed similar to Yogg Saron - since the Horror is casting the spells, you don't get them if the Horror is not in play?
they reworked shudderwock to where it only does 20 battlecrys. so maybe he was unlucky and it didnt hit that minion?

But the graphic literally showed the Horror as one of the targeted minions.

Something I noticed that could matter in an online tournament - when he shudderwocked with the deck tracker, it tracked what 10 cards Elyssana put into his deck, even tho he should have no knowledge what those cards are.
RySing89 if you check the side bar, it’ll show you what cards shudderwock put in via elyssana anyway. Though you’d have to remember which cards they were vs the deck tracker
It's a bit late, but - in this deck, I only have 1 Witches Brew, because that's just all I have in my collection. What I have as a replacement is the less flexible Omega Mind. Combined with Hagatha's Scheme, it's a full heal. I haven't seen this combo anywhere else - it's Reno Jackson + Twisting Nether, for just 7 mana - although it does have some downsides.
Also, for the Drustvar Horror, picking Storm Bringer isn't good. It can transform your Shudderwock before it gets your Elysiana battlecry.
So satisfying to see control warrior losing late game :)))

Similar ridiculous game, but a little more ridiculous.
I was playing Rafaam Warlock playing against Kibler's decklist. Regular slow paced gameplay and then I smashed Rafaam down. I spotted the same combo. Shudderwock and Elysiana, against a Shudderwock Elysiana deck. We played till fatigue and both put down our elysianas. With Chameleos though, I copied swampqueen's battlecry and minion, I added Nozari to heal me in case I was low, and refilled my deck. After playing our second deck refills, my shudderwock activated Rafaam's battlecry again and I found Barista Lynchen in my hand to bounce shudderwock back. We played some more and then I got low so I was forced to play the shudderwock in hand. In th meantime I added in Myra's battlecry. When I played the Shudderwock, Myra's battlecry added Dr. Morrigan's deathrattle so Shudderwock was reshuffled into my deck. Finally my opponent conceded.

this deck is so cool man. the value from hagatha, and then the refill from alysiana puts you into super-late game. Have you tried the Barista as well to get your battlecries again? it's great with swampqueen.
Now bear with me here: What if he'd been playing warrior and that Hagatha's Scheme was Dr. Boom's Scheme. By the end, he would have been gaining like 30 armor. In ridiculous control match-ups like this... maybe it's actually good?
Probably not. Problem is: those match-ups are decided by fatigue and fatigue damage is non-linear. If you are at 30 health, you would die at fatigue 8 (36 damage total). If you are at 30 health and 30 armor you would die at fatigue 11 (66 damage total). So adding 3 cards to your deck is better than a 30 armor in such match-ups.
Only if you play it along Vargoth then it might be matters.. But then, why not just play single baleful Banker instead to counter mirror matchups
Vargoth casts the starting spell. Supposing the Scheme stood in hand for 30 turns, instead of gaining 60 armor, he would gain 31.
Shudderwock can't cast stormbringer because hagatha needs to teach him

These control decks are just based on how many battlecries of Elysiana that you could possibly cast, when control versus control, you just need more cards in your deck and waiting.

Instant regret after 2 or 3 days with trying your good decks against token or bomb decks on the ladder and dying without seeing 8 mana.
This is exactly why stuff like Quest Rogue needed to exist.

Actually happened with me. I did a vargoth combo with horror but the vargoth didn’t cast it twice. Weird because both cards do say “cast”

I get why a streamer like you would enjoy this kind of games. They're obviously fun to create youtube content and entertain your audience. On the other hand, for a "normal player" like me it has become almost impossible to have kind of a "normal game" on hearthstone, either because of Control warriors where the games are going to last forever and it can be boring to grind ladder, or some other nonsense full RNG games where you just CAN'T have a normal/fair fight. Hearthstone is currently a giant clownfiesta where the outcomes of games are mostly decided by which cards you discover, who plays Chef Nomi or not, who has a better Archivist. Decks are not 30 cards anymore, they have like 20 random cards added to it every game. It's not very fun.
As a normal player, i live for games like this. Its far more exciting than aggro. And you really have to use your thinker in these match ups.
I wish i was good at this game. Playing a R5 legend shudderwock shaman deck that i have so much fun with but i just get absolutely stomped in ladder by tempo rogue, conjurer mage, murloc shaman, control warrior, and token druid :((

@@crybaby1381 Brian suggested replacing her with another Haunting Visions, but you could probably replace her with almost any card. Maybe a Thalnos or a Zentimo, or just like any good Battlecry or control tool. I like running Warmages in my Control Shaman, but I think you need to run both Scheme and Rain of Toads for those to be consistent enough.
The most amazing part is that you have 81,000 gold at the end. If i had that much I could buy 810 packs and almost have enough dust to play standard
Little late to respond, but I'm so sick of people like you saying you need so many cards to be able to play. I'm rank 10 right now, which isn't crazy, but I only play once a day to do quests and standard for like 10 games. I've never spent money, and I can compete against most other players.

Accurate, they were in the 30s already on turns (because of kiblers hagathas scheme keeping track) so he had to last less then 10 turns, which is super doable with the state of the game where he concedes and Dr boom generating continual value

@vladimaster, nah it counts as "nothing" same as in arena, no loss and no win, no impact on win streak on ladder, with updated news, however, it appears the maximum game turn limit has been extended or eliminated, while there previously was a max turn limit of about 40 turns each before a draw, I just had a game today that went over 60 turns due to elysiana/baleful banker and brewmaster shenanigans

Alex B not true, there is no cap on the amount of battlecries shudderwock casts. You can actually see kibler hover over the history bar at 20:42 and count the battlecries that were repeated, which is 27 in this game.

is it worth crafting archivist elysiana? im mainly a control player but i just started playing again and i have no cards from rastakhan and very little from this expansion. also i want to be really wise with my dust since i dont wanna spend a lot of money on packs. i mainly want it for control bomb warrior but i have a lot of wild control decks also. so should i craft her?
Elysiana is currently the MUST have, since it is a neutral Legendary that counters the bombs decks and also gives you extra cards for long fatigue games.

Elysiana seems like a staple for control in this new meta. As a Free-to-play player that has to budget their dust and who also likes to play control, Elysiana was the first legend I crafted from the set. Elysiana is so vital in this new meta that control warrior decks are even playing that stupid heckling taunt robot card that summons a minion from your opponent's deck to try and cheese a win by getting Elysiana (and thus, the opponent not getting her battlecry). Preventing fatigue for just 10 more turns is vital in control mirrors (and control mirrors seem to be common).

I'm playing a similar deck but mine has a " Exotic Mountseller" instead of a "Bog Slosher". I think that the Exotic Mountseller is Hagatha's best friend. The turn she is put on the board she is already going to do something good, if she survives a single turn things will go crazy, and she gives a good use to some of the useless spells you get from Hagatha.

@@cad0042 correct, which makes no sense against your own hero. The line should only trigger if the opposing hero is Hagatha.
exin101 actually that's wrong if you play her against an enemy hagatha she ends it with "power for me and death for you" if you play her while your hagatha she says "power for us and death for you" she's talking to the enemy hero not the friendly hagatha

I'm glad we're in a solid control meta but archivist and a bounce being mandatory is kinda meh
It's only required if your plan is beat every single card in your opponent's deck. You can still run a control deck with a combo wincon if you'd rather have a definite endpoint you're working towards.
ive seen people put 2 brewmaster, 2 banker and even a zola(50% to have a coin) to their deck, see how greedy those control deck players are :) btw im a control player but i only bring one banker and one Elysiana with the deck.

imagine being a rogue / priest fighting a warrior, you have the mega windfury minion in your deck, and the cauldron. you get garrosh and a way to hurt it, pull out mega guy and give garrosh windfury that you got from the pot boom 40 damage i bet its going to happen on some highlight reel eventually
Is the horror confirmed bugged? If the battle cry is play the spells hagatha taught it and shudderwock didnt teach it any spells it should do nothing right?
The battlecry is "Cast 'spell x' and 'spell y,'" so it should still go off.

Is archivist worth crafting?
I really enjoy it for grindy decks. Right now im playing a similar deck to BKs but changed the Slurper for weapon removal (especially Super Collider is so annoying if you want to play multiple minions for random spells).
Archivist can also fit in multiple decks (Control Warrior as seen in this game, Priest, Shaman as BKs deck or similar, ...)
There arent THAT many defining Legendarys in this expansion (i opened the Mech Hunter Legandary - forgot the name, but dont really like the Deck, I dont want to craft the Mage ones and other than that... a few good ones to have but nothing THAT defining so I went with Archivist and really enjoy it so far).

thats not bugged, first off shudderwok would be completely broken with that interaction. 2nd its not going to recast a discover onto another card ability. It should give you the vanilla minion though just with the stats.
For those that think Horror+Shudderwock are bugged : The spells that are cast by the horror are similar to handbuff and the battlecry of the horror is approximatly "cast the spells attached to this minion". Shudderwock as no spell attached to himself, so he cast nothing. THERE IS NO BUG !!!!

EDIT : changing the text could have been understood as a nerf, so obviously the interaction changed (we all know blizz tested the interaction of this card with shudder)
