Thank you for that trivia about the actor waving his gun around to see if the director was paying any attention. That's always been one of my favorite bits of bad acting. Hilarious now knowing it was all done on purpose to test a bad director.

I LOVE your visuals! This is a level of special effects I will not even attempt. You do it really well. I especially liked Plan 9 playing on the TV in the otherwise still photograph of that family in the living room. And oh my god, your Crisswell intro opening was like Christmas morning. Thanks for making this!
My first "exposure" to this film was from the game Destroy All Humans...once you complete the game the entire film is unlocked to watch.

Thanks for doing this one! You know, I've watched this film dozens of times, and I have NEVER heard anyone reference any other plan but #9. I don't believe they've been going in order; merely choosing the most likely to succeed. Uh... yeah. At any rate. I'm pretty sure Plans 1-8 have nought to do with this flick.

Ed Wood wrote and produced eight other films involving The Plan. Plans 1-8 were never released. After completing the entire series, Wood decided that Plan Nine was by far the best and released that one as a stand alone. It has been rumored that after watching all nine films that Wood decided the first eight were just awful, and that Plan 9 was the best bet for release. Imagine how god- awful the first eight installments were if Ed Wood himself thought they were terrible and not worthy of release. These eight films are unfortunately lost forever as they were placed in Ed Wood's burial vault by Dolores Fuller who wanted to preserve his memory as a serious filmmaker. Several attempts at obtaining an exhumation order by a group of Wood fans all failed. "The Plans" can now rest in peace with their creator.

Bela Lugosi died in 1956 (*August 16th*), not 1951 as stated by you in this film/you-tube video, I liked your video and enjoyed your appreciation of Ed Wood and his film-making and life. Ed Wood was a unique man with a fascinating life and mind, I highly recommend ***Nightmare of Ecstasy : The Art and Life of Edward D. Wood Jr*** which is a book of interviews from all those who were involved in Ed Woods life, its brilliant and a great read ! :)

Stephen King wrote in his book DANCE MACABRE that he thought Ed Wood shamelessly exploited Bela Lugosi posthumously in the making of PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE.
I think Edward obviously exploited Bella's stardom in order to promote his movies, but I don't think he did it maliciously, he really did care for Bella and wanted to honor him with one last film. I think it's a little from column A and a little from column B, but hey, that's show business.

No one on any of these review programs has addressed the story of the entire series of nine films involving the Plan Nine franchise. Long before George Lucas made his first Star Wars film, Edward D. Wood Jr. created the sequel concept by filming all Nine Plans as separate movies, intended to have been released in order. Please look into this.
It's rumoured that the only (known) copies of Plans 1 to 8 were held by Ed himself but that, in 1976, he swapped them for a bottle of bourbon and a second-hand angora sweater. I don't personally believe such nonsense - Ed was a vodka drinker.

I really enjoyed this video! Beyond being a fun review of Plan 9, it's an amazing piece on Ed Wood. I would love to see your take on a film I helped to create, a remake of this film. We achieved a worldwide release earlier this year. Our version is simply titled "Plan 9" (by Darkstone Entertainment).
As a kicker to pique your interest, the writer-director, John Johnson, and I, are alumni of Waynesboro High School which is notorious for also being the school that J.R. "Country 4 Life" Lion attended years after us.

'Plan 9' actually came up a few times while I was doing research for this review and I had considered maybe saving it for a review, but it just wasn't shit enough (hardly a bad thing.) It actually looked like a lot of fun so I'll definitely have to check it out and let you know what I think.
No way! little old Waynesboro. I don't know to much about it but from what I can tell by the Country 4 Life video it looks like a hoot. Maybe one day you can fill me in on the socio economic environment that led to the creation of something so awful.
Shit Flick Critic I lived and breathed Plan 9 for a decent chunk of my humble 35 years so to see the depth of research and accuracy that went into your video is refreshing. I only recently discovered and subscribed to your channel when a friend from Waynesboro shared your review of "Country 4 Life" with me and I have to say you deserve every view, like, and sub that you will inevitably continue to receive.
Screen name aside, my name is Jimmy Belcher and I served as gaffer and head of crew for our version of Plan 9. One last shameless plug: I'm a musician (Gemstar) and I wrote and performed a Plan 9 song that plays during the ending credits. Unfortunately J.R. Lion was unavailable to be featured on the track... But I suppose we all live with regrets.

Its a myth that the church made ed wood change the name from graverobbers... to plan 9. There's another video busting all these myths related to this film.
