Diu Fortress, also known as Fortaleza de Diu or Fortaleza de São Tomé, is a Portuguese-built fortification located on the west coast of India in Diu. The fortress was built in 1535 as part of Portuguese India's defensive fortifications at the eastern tip of the island of Diu to protect against Mughal invasion. The fort remained the center of Portuguese rule until 1961 when the Indian government merged Diu in India. The fort is the most visited landmark in the district.
Diu Fort Timings: 8 PM to 6 PM everyday
There is no entry fee for the Diu Fort.
