The only thing that I'd change about this route would be the livery on the trains & changing the station's designs to how they look irl right now. (As a Glasweigian, i can confirm that the trains are very loud in the tunnels in real life)
If you think the Underground in London can be loud, you haven't tried the Glasgow Subway! Rocking carriages, ear drum crashing noise, the smell of the River Clyde, being squashed in like sardines on match days! I could go on, this is by far my favourite TS addon as it brings back so many childhood memories! By the way, it's Govvvv-an lol!
Up until I got a car recently I used the subway regularly to Hillhead and this is pretty much spot on, especially that interior! However the audio has its moments in places (the beep-y horn they have sounded like It was recorded at a station without a proper mic) and of course, the dreadful reverb FX that Train Sim suffers from throughout the whole route. Why this wasn't a TSW DLC I do not know because it's far more suited to that game IMHO. Particularly with its in-game timetable system. Extra bits: The era this is set in I'd pin the late 90s/early 00s due to the wall tiles, yellow signage and lack of platform screens at Buchanan & Ibrox. I would've loved a bit of smart AP-style scripting for the doors - with the age of the stock sometimes the doors have "days off": sometimes one half doesn't open at all and sometimes you get one set that takes AGES to open/shut vs. the rest of the train! + a nitpick - P.A. should say "Next station is (x), (please) mind the gap." Though that itself as a feature is a nice touch and the location-based activation even better. and Govan is pronounced "Guvvin" lol
It's also not that far from ATO capability. The 2025 Tube Stock to arrive on the line will be ATO capable and by then the line will have either "Wire" ATO which the Jubilee line and Northern use while other lines have a "Wifi" ATO which connects the trains to the control centre.
All the stations were originally built with island platforms and the trains had doors only on the right hand side. They were originally cable hauled too but the system was electrified and the original trains were retained and modified. Separate platforms were added to the busier stations when the system was later refurbished. The game features the second generation of stock and that is about to be replaced by the third generation.
Thanks for sharing this video so quickly. Enjoyed it very much, I think you will find a lot of the London underground system was very noisy, more so on the older routes. I dare say this one must have been too!

ATO is important for me. I'm not quite good a controlling the subway manually. Really good quality subway train. Press 5 key, nothing happens. But in the cab view, the passenger view is there. Just like the Thomson version of Class 350 when there's a passenger view in the cab view. Does this Glasgow subway train work on the other routes?
I wonder if the track has the third rail when laid down in other routes, or if its separate? If its the latter and its actually 4ft gauge, then it can be used for freelance narrow gauge routes, along with the Redruth & Chasewater and the Padarn Railway
it will almost certainly be separate because otherwise you wouldn't be able to place it properly around points or choose the correct side of the running rails for the 3rd rail to be on
@@TheCatOfWarCSGO not saying you’re wrong Max, but JT have the third rail built into the track for Met Line, and there are different options in the track rule to switch between what side it’s on or to have a variant without any at all, just the same as you can change ballast colour and width with the JT GU Track in the route editor.

Seeing ATO is possible in Train Sim it would be great to see London Underground lines like the Jubilee and Victoria Lines, or the Piccadilly

agreed, they should definitely do the victoria line as it was london’s first automatic railway, with the old 1967 stock being quite similar to this.
The Victoria line is somewhere and you drive a 1967 stock, sadly I don’t believe the map has ATO.

How do I use ATO because I flooded the tutorial and it still won’t work. When I put the reverser in A and power To P and press start it does nothing.
You have to be in an ATO enabled section so in the tunnels, also make sure the parking brake is off or you’ll be going nowhere B-)
