Hi aji. Yes I will reach out in New Year as much changes I have coming in life. I just got Marries and getting set to move in a couple of weeks. My new job is many night hours leaving me tired a lot. Soon I will retire and relax.
These aren't just for the younger crowd but the BORED AUDIENCES. Hubby's had a few decades of these skills and during our breaks (in clubs or festivals), he'll likely go on-stage before others and grab everyone's attention "back on ME! I'm a SHOW OFF-!!" ha ha... but yes, THAT's what happens when a young lad has heard tales from pretty teenage girls about swooning for this or that artist, and all he knows, "I want THAT - pretty girls to swoon over me. How can I do that?!!" 30 years heading into 40, he's still understanding his skills have that effect. And has more enjoyed hearing from those older celebs confess, "Yes, that was my motivation, too - to git gurlz." That's the fortunate history of mankind... animal kind, probably plant-life, too, although their celebrity interviews are much like watching grass grow. Well, that's what I heard-!
Since you brought it up, how about a coffee discussion. Favorite beans 'country of origin'? (I try Indonesians a few times a year, never really cared for them - a bit 'flowery' or 'fruity' in the lighter roasts and even in dark-roasts, they remind me more of tea than coffee. Favoite roast level? Usually 'dark' for me but I'll try new cafes or new brands at medium roasts - but I seldom volunteer for Cup #2. "Too much like tea"... Favorite brewing method. I rotate between a French Press and a li'l Bialetti (er, bigger 12-cup'ers to readily accommodate the 2nd sipper... failure to do so results in forfeiture of that first cup to that late arrival. "I had a mining disaster to attend! I just couldn't make it on time, Nurse Diesel-!!" No fruit cup for him, either-!!
As I may have threatened earlier, here's a James Taylor tutorial on his 'frankenstein nails' and, from personal experience and two decades of nail-care, this really REALLY helped me in both fashion-nails and functional guitar-nails. th-cam.com/video/7BqISqpMRo8/w-d-xo.html
I don't know where the origins of Pacific guitarist regimes began. I often revert back to "making money out of craftsmanship" - which I think fuels a lot of endeavors - but I've read histories of 1930s Philippines and see notes about the highest calibre of musicianship and 'bands/orchestras' as told by westerners - Americans for the most part since there was a fairly steady stream since the 1900's. Jakarta, Kuala L, Hong Kong, Taipei, the Chinese ports (north and south), and into Thailand and India seem to have long "entertainment of Westerners" histories. I suspect "Indonesia Today" has its entertainment roots far into the past because it was infested with oil-minded Westerners and commercial interests before the Dutch arrived in the area en masse in the early 20th Century. We know the Dutch had powerful controls of trades from the 1600s. Did those wily Dutch drop off transistor radios back then? Establish Top 40 radio stations for the Shogunate wars?!! Those sneaky devils - ! It would be interesting to see how much Western Music entertaniment filled clubs and airwaves (radio was successfully demonstrated across Europe in 1919). But even The Early Beatles didn't make those first playlists. And which island territory led the charge, or was it more or less simultaneously? Those battles are never mentioned in WWII histories, of course.
On a brighter note, I got Married yesterday. I truly enjoy hearing for the first time a composition or performance that brings joy to my ears and heart. Music makes me happy.

I wish when I first began to play guitar I learned fingerpicking technique.
